  1. Johnny Damon is the guy that Yankees fans ripped on all these years but when he signs with New York, he will be a fan favorite. I guess we can't talk though. The same thing happened with Pierzynski.
  2. Offensively, maybe. He still has a noodle-arm. But I agree that he is as good as gone from the Red Sox. Watch the Yankees sign him.
  3. Listen to the Audio clip labeled "Thomas happy for team" at this link: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...=.jsp&team=away Levine asks Frank about El Duque's performance. Frank responds with, "I hate to say it live like this but when the s*** hits the fan, El Duque's one guy that you want in your corner."
  4. I just hope that Ozzie finally realizes that there's no point to having an extra lefty in the bullpen if he gives up 2-strike hits and walks everyone.
  5. Freddy threw 96 pitches through 5 innings and was obviously tired. I thought that El Duque would start the 6th inning and go 3 innings with Jenks coming in for a possible save in the 9th. Marte needs to get far away from our playoffs roster for the next series. I think McCarthy will be back.
  6. I see it as more of a team effort, well, minus Marte.
  7. It's nice to know that Damon was really concerned with winning and his teammates instead of his own personal finances for next year. What a gamer! :rolly
  8. http://bostondirtdogs.boston.com/Headline_...10/idiot_1.html "...You want to put people in the seats and I'm the kind of guy who can do that. I'm looking for five plus. I'm looking for a lot. For what I bring to the table night in and night in. We know how good Manny and David are, but I also help them look real good. They make me look real good." -- Johnny Damon immediately after a season-ending devastating loss
  9. I think Ozzie will finally realize that there's no point to having another lefty on the roster when he can't even get lefties out, much less anyone. I expect McCarthy to replace him on the roster for the next series.
  10. McCarthy for 5th starter in 2006! El Duque for long relief in 2006!
  11. The zone didn't open up a bit until Ozzie b****ed. Garcia was getting squeezed a ton. Ozzie definately had a ton of reason to b****. Marte didn't get pinched too much though. He just refused to throw strikes.
  12. Yeah, Berman went silent on Konerko's homer and Uribe and Pierzynski's doubles. What a piece of maggot-infested garbage Berman is.
  13. Agreed. The announcing for this entire series was a joke. I love that our boys stuck it right up the media's ass, Berman included. All I learned was that Berman is a Red Sawx fan and Mike Piazza likes to describe everything that happens in baseball as "firm." Piazza is clueless but at least he wasn't biased like fatass. Sutcliffe just switched sides and hyped up whatever team had the lead. My God, where is Steve Stone?
  14. Crede was bad in the first two games but he got over his nervousness and played great defense today.
  15. It's pretty crazy but almost everyone contributed. It was a true team effort. Uribe hit .400 with 1 HR and 4 RBI in this series though.
  16. That was awesome. Uribe was huge in this series. .400 AVG, 1 HR, 4 RBI.
  17. I think Marte will be sent packing for the next series and McCarthy will get his spot. Afterall, what good is a lefty that can't get lefties out? Hell, Marte can't get anyone out. He either throws a 2-strike meatball and gives up a hit or just walks the guy.
  18. I agree but it's still a tough choice. If you start Contreras in Game 1, Garland will be so damn rusty from not pitching for a long while.
  19. Showboating is just Manny being Manny. It's a shame that our guys had to stick it to him with a sweep. Sorry, Manny. Go showboat with Pedro and the Mets, loser.
  20. Indeed. If McCarthy is our 5th starter next season, I really won't mind paying El Duque the money to be our long reliever next season. That was insane.
  21. Keep rooting for the Red Sox, Berman. "OH MY GOODNESS!"
  22. Both Iguchi and Dye were swinging hard. Nice leadoff walk to Damon.
  23. Maybe he should stick to stealing 3rd. It seems easier for him.
  24. So far, we can't hit Wakefield's knuckleball.
