  1. Damn, Iguchi called time. Wakefield also has a pretty good move to 1st.
  2. It's just pathetic how ESPN is opening rooting for Boston because it's do or die for them. GAME ON!
  3. Haha, Berman just said that Piazza is one of the best behind the plate. Yeah right. :headshake
  4. In my opinion, Giambi shouldn't be eligible to win any award from here on out. It's not like all the muscle he gained from overdosing on steroids just melted away since he got off of them. He's still pounding out those homers because of how steroids changed his body. Giambi winning any award is a joke, whether it's the 2000 MVP or the 2005 Comeback award. On the other hand, Griffey deserved it. Another guy who really should have been up there with Griffey is Tony Clark. Check out the ridiculous numbers that Tony Clark put up in only 349 at bats. http://arizona.diamondbacks.mlb.com/NASApp...layer_id=112316
  5. If Wakefield stays the Game 3 starter, Pods, Iguchi, and Rowand need to be aggressive on the bases. Mirabelli has a good throwing arm but Wakefield's slow knuckler and offspeed 80 MPH fastball should be pretty easy to steal on. If Pods gets on, he should be running everytime.
  6. From the Red Sox sites that I'm reading, they seem to be assuming both Game 3 and Game 4 are gimme's because they're at Fenway and they have their "best pitchers going in Wakefield and Schilling." Speaking of Rowand destroying Wakefield -- with Dye not producing much the past two games in the 3-hole, would you throw Rowand there for Game 3 and drop Dye down? Or would you just leave the lineup as is? Rowand just destroys Wakefield.
  7. Here's a funny post from a Red Sox fan at SoSH.
  8. It's weird. Cano will make the most amazing play and then botch a routine one. Angels win 5-3 on a great play by Figgins and a great scoop by Erstad.
  9. Buehrle got hit HARD but once Iguchi came through for him and got him the lead he pitched with some guts and guile and shut them down for 4 more innings. That was damn impressive after seeing how hard the Red Sox were hitting him early in the game.
  10. There's plenty of time left to pitch Marte though.
  11. Leaving Jenks in for 2 innings was the best move of the game. After overmanaging a bit this season with lefty/righty matchups, Ozzie made the Red Sox hit our "best stuff" reliever and it worked out. Also, with a day off tomorrow Jenks should get enough rest to pitch on Friday. Great move by Ozzie and great post to give him props.
  12. "BACK, BACK, BACK... I SUCK!!!"
  13. You may want to check out Wakefield's career numbers against the White Sox and also his numbers against them this season.
  14. These past two games have been amazing. The first is a ridiculous blowout in which they set the ALDS homerun record with 5 in one game. And then tonight, a game that appeared to be a loss until clutch Iguchi comes through for us and Bobby shuts them down for 2 innings.
  15. He just needs to stick to football. He sucks at that too but at least he knows something about it. He knows nothing about baseball.
  16. When the Royals signed Graffanino to a 2-year, $2.2 million deal, even they were signing him as a backup infielder. Desi Relaford was their starting 2nd baseman and Angel Berroa was their starting SS. Graffanino was signed to backup both of them, not to start. Now if the Royals don't even sign you as a starter, well, doesn't that say something?
  17. That was predictable. I said it was going to happen earlier in the game thread. The media and fans will blame Graffanino a la Buckner if the White Sox win the series.
  18. Thanks. I was wondering what it was since a guy on ESPN 1000 mentioned it.
  19. I've been trying to get this point across to redandwhite. He's not biting though. If Graffanino hits .300+ with a .360+ OBP next season, I will eat my shoe. I agree that Graffanino is a good player but he's not this good.
  20. You don't have to live in Boston to be a bandwagon Red Sox fan. Just like you don't have to live in Chicago to be a bandwagon Cubs fan.
