This crap really needs to stop. The Red Sox did not tie for the division title. There are no damn ties for the division title. The Red Sox won the Wild Card because the Yankees beat them in the head-to-head series. Man, Boston is pathetic.

Marte's problem is that he is a coward. He can't throw a strike to save his life and hangs his breaking stuff. He is dead meat up there and I hope we can at least get a bag of balls for him in the offseason. If this guy actually pitches again in a key situation for the rest of the playoffs, he will kill us.

The only way I would want Manny Ramirez is as a DH. The guy's a bum in the outfield. And even if he was only a DH, I would still have to see him admire his almost homeruns and end up turning doubles into singles. No thanks, especially not for $20 million a year.

Sinkerballers lose their effectiveness out of the bullpen (see Sergio Mitre). They need to throw a few innings to get their good stuff.

Marte is just worthless right now and has been for almost the entire season. There's no need to dump Blum who can at least play 3 positions while Marte is more likely to hurt us than help us if he stays on the roster. Dump Marte and add McCarthy. Marte has no confidence and is pitching like a complete headcase coward.

My favorite thing is when dumbass Manny watches balls that he thinks are homers and then ends up with only a single instead of a double because his lazy fatass doesn't run the bases. Right down the middle? It's a national broadcast. The announcers are supposed to be completely unbiased. Joe Buck needs to learn this lesson as well and stop rooting for the Cardinals during national broadcasts.

Are you absolutely nuts? What in the hell has Marte done thus far to make you want to keep him on the playoff roster? The guy has choked all season long in key situations and now he's choking in the postseason. The guy just CANNOT get a lefty out right now. He failed to retire 3 lefties in a row tonight (Nixon, Mueller, Olerud). What is the point of keeping him on the roster? Vizcaino isn't great but he's still pitching better than Marte. You have to get over the notion that you always need a lefty pitcher to face a lefty batter. Marte's suckiness defeats the purpose of the strategy. 1. Send Marte packing. 2. Add McCarthy to the roster.

Agreed. I like El Duque to be available for long relief. Today was the perfect situation to use El Duque. Freddy threw 96 pitches in 5 innings and El Duque was able to go 3 innings. Save Cotts for lefties with Hermanson and Politte setting up for Jenks.

We could use 2 lefties but when one of them is Damaso Marte, no thanks. I'd rather see a righty like McCarthy try to get a tough lefty out than watch Marte s*** the bed. At least McCarthy will throw strikes and won't load the bases with no outs.
