  1. This is why I think that Beane asking for Brian Anderson is BS. Juan Cruz's trade value damn sure ain't that high. I think Cruz's trade value is somewhere in between a bag of baseballs and Brian Anderson. No way Beane gets a top prospect for Cruz.

  3. Agreed, he has to be good if Quickman likes him. I'm excited now.
  4. Choi does have some big holes in his swing, just like Borchard, but I still think it's a poor comparison as well. By the way, why in the HELL didn't the Reds claim Choi?!? Scott Hatteberg? WTF?
  5. Jenks and Cotts. Politte sucks as a closer and has even admitted it himself.
  6. Don Cooper is on ESPN 1000 and he said that they were disappointed in Jenks for showing up to camp out of shape. He also said that he wants to see Jenks throwing strikes. He isn't really worried about velocity right now.
  7. Choi is actually a pretty good fielder at 1B. I don't really see him being much like Borchard. If Borchard could put up anywhere near a .349 OBP, we wouldn't have traded him.
  8. It's on now. Wow, they really do hate each other... Silverman: "Well, can we get some baseball news or what?" Levine: "Maybe... if you quit pimping me."
  9. ESPN 1000 sports update: Ozzie says that he will use a closer-by-committee if Jenks continues to struggle. I guess we weren't blowing it out of proportion if Ozzie is saying this.
  10. Don't worry. We will still have Thornton as a fallback closer.
  11. You already stated it nicely enough.
  12. I'm pretty sure Jamie Moyer started the game.
  13. 2-0 Mariners in the bottom of the 7th, according to The Score.
  14. All I know is that it's 2-0 Mariners. Freddy Garcia gave up an RBI single to Carl Everett. Hermanson is supposed to pitch one inning in this game.
  15. Is hi8is breathing? Okay, then he is...
  16. And Anderson could put up the same numbers as Reed with a lot more power... .254 AVG / .322 OBP / .352 SLG / .675 OPS I could see Anderson putting up a similar AVG and OBP but blowing away Reed's SLG. Meanwhile, Anderson makes me look bad.
  17. You have to remember that Reed was one of the best defensive CF'ers in entire MLB last season. His offense was disappointing but I sure wouldn't mind Anderson matching his defense. The Borchard trade definately looks good for the Mariners now. Matt Lawton still has to serve that 10 day steroid suspension and I don't think either Lawton or Ibanez can play CF anyways.
