Guillen questions Jenks' regimen
Because he is out of options and he would have to clear waivers to be sent down to Charlotte. Another team could claim him. He is virtually guaranteed a spot in our bullpen because of this, no matter how unprepared he is for the season. This is the main reason it was a mistake to acquire him in the first place, IMO.

Guillen questions Jenks' regimen
http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws In the minor league game today -- Vazquez was a stud, Thornton got shellacked again, and Thome homered. Nomo may have a shot at a bullpen spot. Sounds to me like the Sox are rethinking Thornton in the bullpen. At least I hope they are. Although Nomo isn't the answer either, IMO. Also at the link above, they have a couple videos... • Javier Vazquez speaks with MLB.com: 350K • Bobby Jenks talks to MLB.com: 350K

Gazing Into the Crystal Ball
Did anyone get the latest issue of The Sporting News magazine? My God, they love us to insane proportions. They have a hilarious photo of Ozzie stirring some batter with a chef's hat on. They think it will be White Sox over Cardinals in the World Series. They ranked us like this... #1 rotation in entire MLB (because of Vazquez addition and McCarthy as a 6th starter) #3 heart of the order in entire MLB (because of Thome, Konerko, Dye) #3 bullpen in entire MLB (because of Jenks, Cotts, and Politte, although they do mention Hermanson) #1 clubhouse in entire MLB (because of Ozzie and Frank is now gone) #2 bench in entire MLB (because of Mackowiak, Cintron, and Ozuna)

Give him a few months? I don't think I'd put this guy in a game if we had a 5 run lead. He pitched in a game against the Diamondbacks' AAA team.

The Toronto Raptors released Antonio Davis. I wonder if the Bulls will be interested. He has back problems though.

Good news on Fabio Castro
Fabio Castro got knocked around by our Sox today... Castro's line: 2.2 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 6.17 ERA Nice to see.

It's nice that we knocked around Fabio Castro a bit. I doubt the Rangers will keep him on their opening day roster. They will either have to work out a deal for him with us or offer him back to us.

I don't think it was televised. It was just some Sox players against the Diamondbacks' AAA squad.

Yeah, I like Lopez at Charlotte in case Logan falters. But we have no one to replace Hermanson in long/middle relief right now.

He has a 96 MPH fastball though...

That was in the minor league game he pitched in today, right? Nice. What an excellent acquisition. This guy is going to hurt us more than help us.

Iguchi has 2 hits today, right? Looks like he may stay in the 2-hole for good now, regardless of whether or not the move is what sparked him.

Barring a complete meltdown, Logan will be our LOOGY. He has yet to do that.

How is the "Legend of Boone Logan" doing?

3/23/06 Game Thread
Castro is a 21 year old lefty with good numbers. That's more than enough reason to want him back. Afterall, the "Legend of Boone Logan" is a 21 year old lefty and he's getting hyped to historic proportions.

Well, when Podsednik starts the game making an out you still want Uribe to be able to get on base in front of Thome and Konerko.- Cintron fills gaps for White Sox

Not quite... Iguchi (career stats Batting 2nd): 507 AB / .274 AVG / .338 OBP / .434 SLG / .772 OPS Uribe (career stats Batting 2nd): 584 AB / .269 AVG / .321 OBP / .433 SLG / .755 OPS Not to mention, Uribe's career stats batting 2nd are likely skewed by his insane 2004 season. - 3/23/06 Game Thread
