  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) I would think that I have the legal right to breathe as well. OK. I have to ask you to step over into our designated breathing area, Sir. See the idiocy?
  2. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 10:21 AM) I just heard a conversation this morning about how we are becoming de-sensitized to certain "bad" words. There are a number of words that you hear regularly on the radio or TV that they would never dream of using 20 years ago... I quit letting my daughter watch the Simpsons when she started running around the house screaming, "Damn! Damn! Damn!" like Homer. It was funny, but not good at all.
  3. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) This might get this sent to the Filibuster, but... If someone had a bumpersticker that said "Barack is full of ****" or "Hiliary is a ****head", would the cop have pulled them over? If the cop let one car go by with the 1-800-EAT-**** sticker, he should let everything go. EDIT: Oops, it's Dekalb, Georgia, not Illinois. I'm guessing there wouldn't be a lot of call for anti-Obama bumperstickers in the ATL. I would hope he would. I have a problem with the language not the "political" message - though it does show her educational level somewhat.
  4. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 09:14 AM) That is ridiculous. Nothing lewd about that at all. I think most people have had enough of the Bush. Nothing lewd at all?
  5. Putting curse words on your car is free speech? I don't like any of them: 1-800-EAT-s***, etc. I think it's stupid and should not be allowed. Now if she wanted a "Don't blame me. I voted for Kerry" sticker - fine.
  6. QUOTE(daa84 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 08:30 AM) 1.) who has been humiliating smokers? 2.) Eating a brat with extra onions or burping or farting doesnt affect the kid sitting next to you with cystic fibrosis. Thats also a disease. Should he be punished because someone wants to smoke? It's socially accepted to ridicule and make fun of smokers. No one ever publically disagrees with any laws or ordinances hindering their rights. I've seen people yell at smokers out of nowhere and the smoker is supposed to take it. Maybe I should have been more clear. A ban in the seating area is fine. I'm talking in more general terms.
  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 30, 2006 -> 07:56 AM) Yeah, that's true....sorry. I just hear so much s*** about stuff like this from smokers. I should say "why do some smokers have to be so bitter". It's just I've already had 3 family members taken too soon because of their smoking habit, so it's a sensitive subject for me. Because as bad as it is - it's still legal. I quit about a year and a half ago. I never realized how bad smoke smelled until now. Wow! I don't like this. Smokers have a legal right to smoke, in my opinion. Just like I have a right to drink, eat a brat with extra onions that stinks to high hell, or burp and fart. I just have a problem with this constant war against people doing a perfectly legal thing. Addiction is a disease, right? AIDS is a disease. Diabetes is a disease. Why is it OK to humiliate smokers, but feel sympathy for people with other diseases? Where's the ACLU for smokers? Can smokers use the Americans with Disabilities Act? Just my $0.02

  12. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) It does not say he did it IN CHURCH and actually the link you gave says nothing about flipping the bird or making an obscene gesture. It says a hand gesture. Did you change their text or did they get their story straight and change their article since you pasted it. Either way, I had heard he gestured under his chin which basically means leave me the hell alone. I don't see a big deal.... This gesture, often called the "chin flick," is widely used among Italians and persons of Italian ancestry. It is a gesture of contempt, somewhat less rude than giving a person "the finger." When used in the United States, it usually means "Bug off, I've had enough of you." Not a polite gesture, but not a particularly hostile one, either. I think they call that...pwned!
  13. Uh-oh! Wal Mart? How long before this gets filibustered?
  14. This is scary s***. "We feel that the only way we're going to get at the drunk driving problem and the problem of people hurting each other while drunk is by crackdowns like this," she said. Wow. "It's for the good of the public." Come off of it. This is the only way, huh? Wow. I can't think of anything else to say. :headshake
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 24, 2006 -> 03:32 AM) Those would be the non-agenda nation's news outlets, I presume. No, the right-wing agenda news outlets. :rolly
