  1. Like I didn't have reason enough already?
  2. Can't find the quote of the call, but this is the game.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) I like both states because the hunting and fishing are great in both but I say Iowa is worse because of the mass Cub fans... ^^ that!
  4. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) WOW. Mrs. IWC and I were married the very next day. It's great being able to just add 1 to the current year and know which anniversary you are on isn't it? Oh, BTW, congrats SS2K5! It's great to just remeber Friday the 13th. I'll never forget the date.

    Bla.. ticket drama..

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Yea.. that was in the email also. This is why we rarely sell our tickets. To be honest we would rather the seats go empty then to give them to someone we don't know and run a risk. Yeah, you give them to some asshole and then get dirty looks the next time you go to the game.

Thanks for all the great answers. :rolly

You expect the person sitting in your seats to act mature and with respect. That's why ST holders are picky about who they give their extras to. You cannot guarantee this when you don't know who will be sitting there. I'd be pissed as hell.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Congrats Mike.. your gift is in the mail.. You took mine to the post office with you, right, Steff?

    Ronald Reagan

As many of you know, my first daughter, Reagan, was named after our 40th President. I'm not the first, and probably not the last, to do this. There are A LOT of kids out there named after Reagan. I was trying to see if there is a web site out there devoted to these kids. I'm usually pretty good at Google searches like this, but have come up empty this time. Anyone have any suggestions? I've seen news stories about how everyone named John Smith or something average like that have a big get-together every year. So, I was wondering if there's anything like that for the "Reagans."
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Hey, congrats you to and the Mrs, in advance Anyone who can live with you for six years is a better person than most Why I oughta...you know what? You're right.
  13. Pfft, 5 years :rolly My 6 year anniversary is the 13th. We were married on a Friday. Seriously, congrats, buddy.
  14. I like the ads. The first time I saw them I thought, "How clever." The one on the far right...

    Have a cell phone?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) Oooh..sporting the Zach Morris cell phone I was driving a truck in BFE. I had to have one. I did bicep curls with it while driving down the road.
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) So they take digital photos as well? That might sell me on one of these instead. Also can you hook it into your computer to DL and send pics? Yeah. Like I said, I haven't yet, but you can. With a DVD burner, you can burn the mini DVD onto a regular sized DVD to give to Grandparents and what-not. The mini DVDs play in most players, but are more expensive than regular sized ones.
  17. Review of the one I bought. They have other reviews on this site.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) The wife and I are planning on getting some decent recording stuff for when the baby is born. We were in best buy last weekend and spotted the mini-DVD recorders, and I was curious if anyone had one, and what they thought of them? I know we want to get a nice digital camera that has the direct dock into the computer to download pics, but we thought a recorder might be a nice idea too. I just bought mine around the 4th of July and got this one from here and I love it. It takes digital photos and every time you start recording again it creates a new chapter. There is a problem with it already, but it's still under warranty so I'm going to send it in soon. The next model up is supposd to take better quality digital photos. I haven't downloaded or printed any of the photos yet. They show up on the DVD like another chapter. Buy it online. The site I posted lists it for $589. Regular price at Best Buy and Sony's web site was $799. Any other questions, just ask. I did pretty extensive research while looking for this.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 09:10 AM) To be honest I agree, but I just thought you would be interested in that factoid. States should have more control over their destinies. Isn't that what the founders intended?
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) Actually if it is like most projects, less populous states recieve more money than they put in. Well, that isn't fair either. I stand by my "Power to the states" opinion!
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Here's my favorite piece on the highway bill. What's your favorite part? That the story you quoted doesn't mention the word Democrat a single time? That the same story, when criticizing anyone, identifies them as Republicans, but when giving John McCain and Judd Gregg credit fails to indentify them as Rebublicans. Yeah, that's my favorite part too. :rolly Actually, my favorite part is when we have a nice bipartisan discussion on how all of theses bastards are crooked and someone always has to come in and take the fun out. :banghead
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 04:16 PM) But isn't the federal money coming from people who will travel down County Road 17? Perhaps that's a bad example, but it's our money, I'm not as hung up on which group of crooks, errrrrr elected representives, chooses what to build as I am them choosing good, worthy projects. I'm not certain that state cronies would be much better than national cronies. Yes, but I'd rather my money go to fix local roads in Indiana rather than local roads in Texas. Yes, you're right state cronies would be the same, but at least the money would stay in state. Right now, is the amount of Federal money coming from Indiana proportionate to the amount coming back in? Or is it proportionate to who has the most clout in DC? I'd say the latter.
  23. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) But I shouldn't be surprised that all you white guys are taking his side when race is brought up.
