  1. QUOTE(thelatinoheat_30 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) i used to like him, but his stupid repetitive hawkisms are getting annoying. always talking about "everything is self-induced" and prolly the worst part is when there's a deep fly ball, he always does his "stretch, stretch" call and it RARELY is a homer, maybe 9 out of 10 times he says it, its just an out, it's like a curse, does anyone else notice this? he also tends to be too much of a homer and thinks he knows everything cause he's been around for 43 years. and whenever something good happens, he has to mention how ozzie was somehow involved. and the list goes on and on. also, does anyone notice how dj does a much better job of technical analysis w/a different partner on sat. games of the week than w/ hawk? i think that says a lot about hawk. personally, i'd like to see dj stay(brings some comic relief and solid analysis), hawk can go and bring in steve stone, someone w/ knowledgeable, unbiased analysis. also, the "put it on the board" is getting kinda old. I can't really disagree.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) Good to see that "experts" look at strikeouts for a sinkerballer to see how effective they are. Smart people those guys at ESPN hire. Nice!
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Just to update... This was from Saturday's Trib The attendance average is up to 26,505 after the Sox drew 105k to the park for the weekend series with the A's...and proceded to s*** themselves.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 02:59 AM) Sandler is underated? Not as a comedian, but as an actor, yes!

    Cashiers that can't make change without the register telling them how much. This happened to the person in front of me at Autozone just last week: Bill is $36.48. The cashier put in $10 accidentally. (Look of mass confusion on cahier's face) The cashier put in $100. The cashier gave $73.52 in change. Now, this didn't surprise me one bit because I used to be a Customer Service Manager and was in charge of all the cashiers at a large Home Improvement store. I had to find problems like this all the time when their drawers were short.

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) People who turn directly into the left lane when they make a right hand turn. And you're making a left hand turn and turning into the left lane too, because you know how to f***ing drive, so you have to slam on your brakes or quickly get over to avoid hitting them. And they give you a dirty look!
  7. Good points by all, but mark my words: BAYH will not win Indiana. A Senate race is a lot different.
  8. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) He should run for president. Just because hes from Indiana. I don't think he could win Indiana.

  10. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) Alright Nuke, no coke references. I'll go for what he admitted -- being a boozehound. During his time in the TANG (TX Air Nat'l Guard), Junior on more than one occasion " stripped off his uniform and danced nude on top of the bar while lip-syching to rowdy George Jones jukebox tunes such as White Lightning." And there's something wrong with this?
  11. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) http://thedanreport.blogspot.com/ Be the first visitor! Tentatively named the Dan report but I don't like it as it is obviously very self-indulgent. First article is entitled "CNN report on Gitmo confirms ex-CIA informant's impression of inmates?" This blog won't be just a rehashing of other info but what I think is somewhat of an Independent view on current topics. Also if you've always wondered what the Kipper looks like here's your chance to put either your love or hate to a face. Warning, the weird effect I created on the image gives me a god-like supa-pimp quality... you'll see. I'd love to hear some thoughts EDIT: Also, not on purpose the article relates somewhat to the London bombings It sucks! I'll read it and let you know.
  12. Tell Jr to get his head out of his ass for me!
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) Edited for the truth Now this is a spade calling a spade a spade.
  14. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) Everyone I know is fine thanks. Credepopsup however is from London. I just hope that the only reason he hasn't posted yet is that he's stuck in town trying to get home, all transport is closed. As to the mood here, I guess it's one of shock and anger. Part of me is relieved that it's finaly happened, I've been expecting it for a while, and that it wasn't any worse. I hate to think what it would have been like had it happened last weekend while Live 8 was on. Sadly this is nothing new for people of my age, we had much worse happen during the 70's, 80's and 90's and the troubles with the IRA. Now as then, I have one message for those chicken s*** lowlifes who carried this out; Britain is strong, Britain will NOT be cowed down by these acts, Britain will NOT let these acts cause us to turn on each other; decent people of all faiths will NOT be scapegoated in retribution for these acts, These terrorists will not win, I and all I know will go about our business as normal. This is the only way to beat these idiots. Once again, Britain is strong. For lack of the Union Jack :
  15. QUOTE(Pale Hose Jon @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 09:58 AM) Before we jump on the i hate the middle east bandwagon, could we atleast wait a little while and find out who ACTUALLY did this before we start blaming people. ( oh wait it appears i am far to late). IIRC, the madrid bombings were done by the ETA, a basque seperatist movement, although after those bombings we were quick to blame alqueda. So could we please wait til more information comes out before we spread ignorant hatred of islam. I think most here have qualified their statements with "Radical" Islam, not Islam as a whole.
  16. QUOTE(winodj @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) Hey, let's leave Salon out of this. I happen to like them a lot - as biased as they are. Used to like National Review too. OK, lets make a deal. I won't bring up salon and you won't bring up Fox News.
  17. Tom Sher (sp?) said 1975 this morning, so I would think it's probably 1974.
  18. QUOTE(Sox1422 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) That's a shame. I will be in Europe for the first time in my life. Would have enjoyed seeing the Sox whoop up on the Yanks. My trip is better: I'm taking my wife on a weekend vacation for her birthday. I'll be golfing all weekend and she'll be at a spa. Who da man?
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 09:27 AM) The US just raised the warning level to "orange" for mass transit... whatever the hell that means. They're going to start checking your tickets before you get on the train, because we all know terrorists don't know how to buy a train ticket.
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 06:45 AM) You just can't resist taking your shots, can you? No he can't. And that article has a quote from someone at Salon.com. Must be true!
  21. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 06:39 AM) It's August 20th at Comiskey Damnit! I'm out of town. Oh well, I don't really like any of you anyway!
  22. 51 pages? Yikes. I'll bet there's a lot of important stuff in here. Congrats to Scott. You deserve it, buddy.
