Watched that special on it today. Sold me. I'll be doing this program eventually.
  3. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 12:48 AM) Eh, I'm an okay golfer. I hit my driver about 250 usually, but when I really connect I've hit it up to 280-290. I love the Burner as my driver. Fantastic. I'm so pumped. I've become really confident with my game this summer.
  4. QUOTE (rockren @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 12:20 AM) If I could find some way to replace my name with Ortega when Shawn speaks...
  5. BTW, Alicia Sacramone, Nastia Lukin, and Shawn Johnson are all hot.
  6. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 11:05 PM) Do those 2 "men" have testicles?
  7. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 11:12 PM) I'm not investing in golf clubs until I graduate college and get a real job. The only new clubs I have are a Burner Driver (taylormade) and a Callaway X-18 6 and 8 iron and sand wedge. Also got a Cobra 7-wood that I love (hit it about 200 yds, which is as well as I hit a 3-wood - not sure why). I work at a golf course and all the previously mentioned clubs were demo's that they were going to throw away, so I took them. Otherwise, I have a set of Wilson irons from like 1990 that are hand-me-downs. I definitely want some new irons, though. Think I'll go with the new Callaways whenever they come out since I love my X-18's. Not sure how great of a golfer you are, but what kind of distances do you get on that driver? I just got a new 2008 Taylormade Tour Burner driver in 9.5. I'm relatively new to golf and I've hit a s***ty Ram driver 250 so I'm anxious to see the damage this will do.
  8. QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 10:02 PM) I could see the true comment being 'top line potential" and that could give you Buff and Barker. I feel like you're reading my mind though. Vertseeg could potentially be one of those players too, if there is any substance to this.
  9. QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 09:50 PM) They mention Sopel on the site but he isn't a top line player. He'd be a third line defenseman on a lot of teams at best. Maybe Keith. As for the forward.. um I couldn't even try to speculate. And what exactly would the Hawks be getting back? I'm tired of Eklund.
  10. Here's a few memorable ones...
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) Best sign of the night: "Finally Albert gets some pitches to hit" I like "Hit it Here - Free Pet Food"
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 08:16 PM) Did you think the equipment would make you good?? I kid. I golf a s***load, at least every week. I play harborside twilight at least once a weekend. Ha, you scared the s*** out of me for a second. I don't expect the clubs to make me a PGA Tour player, but I expect them to shave a few strokes off my scores most definitely. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 08:16 PM) Harborside is 57 bucks after 3:30, dubsdread isnt worth playing to be honest, stick to course #2 (ravines) for cheaper. Bolingbrook is better than Dubs IMO. For Steve, you gotta get off #1 at Cog, its pretty overpriced for what it is. I would recommend something like Coyote Run which is a similar difficulty but is only 40 bucks. Didn't know Harborside had the lower fee later in the day. I have to admit, being a college kid, $82 turned me off a bit. $57 is managable in the summer, so I'll definitely be hitting that up soon. Which of the 2 courses would you suggest?
  13. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 07:45 PM) Its Eklund and he is normally wrong about everything. Yeah, he reported that mystery 3 way a week or 2 ago that no one knew anything about and no move ever happened.
  14. QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 06:28 PM) You mentioned he was your roommate, well my friend is also my roommate. The more likely scenario is you're myself from a parallel universe. So what is everyone's favorite courses that they have played? Here my five favs: 1. Revere at the Anthem, Concord, Las Vegas 2. Cog Hill GC #1, Lemont IL 3. Oak Grove GC, Harvard IL 4. Bali Hai, Las Vegas 5. Tanna Farms, Geneva IL I really want to play Dubsdread at Cog Hill too. I really want to try out all the courses at Cog Hill one day. Harborside International is another on my to-do list.

I DVR'd a special about this program the other night, can't wait to watch it.
  16. Apparently we signed Mark Cullen yesterday to a 2-way contract for 500k.
  17. QUOTE (Chisox88 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) I golf a ton.. For some reason I have developed a nice little slice this season.. It is really hard to hang up the clubs during the winter and then start where I left off.. If you have a large basement or some room in your garage, I'd definitely recommend getting a net and a mat if you have the space. It'll help keep you sharp for sure.
  18. QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 10:44 PM) Vokey's are well worth the money. I'd be lost with out the lob wedge around the green. I really love the Mizuno's too. They play really crisp. Mizuno's are traditionally one of the best irons (a Golf Digest gold club) for intermediate players. The reason people don't think of them is because they only pay Luke Donald on the tour, no one else. Tiger Woods used Mizuno's in college and there's a story that Titleist paid Mizuno a lot of money for blank heads so they could stamp Titleist on them after he turned pro and signed with Titleist for lots of money. My buddy with the Cobras uses a Ping putter (that's really funny and what a coincidence). He likes it a lot. I have a Taylormade Daytona 1 Rossa. I like it a lot but if I did it again I'd get a Titleist Cameron or an Odyssey White Hot. Wow, the Odyssey White Hot XG is the one I got today! I really liked the way it felt on the practice green, and for the price, it's one of the best values out there. Unless this one blows me away for this year and probably next, I'll probably go back and buy the Ping G2i Craz-E Mallet Style putter. I LOVE that putter. BTW, perhaps we have the same friend? Haha.
  19. QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 10:23 PM) One of my buddies uses Cobra irons and he loves them. I bought Mixuno MX-200s (4-PW) and Titleist Vokey Wedges (50, 56 and 60) about a month ago and I absolutely love them too. Funny you should mention that. My roomate, who got me into golf, uses Cobra irons as well and actually suggested that I get the Mizuno MX20 irons before I settled on the Nike Slingshot 4Ds. Mizuno makes REALLY good irons. And the next 2 clubs on my list: Ping putter and Titleist 56/60 degree wedges.
  20. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 10:03 PM) Slav is a retard, but he makes good banners. Sorry I don't ballhug Tyrus Thomas...

    Deer hunters....

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 01:17 AM) For those of you that hunt deer (maybe just Slav and I?), if you take your deer into get processed, what's your favorite stuff to get? Currently eating some jalapeño deer sticks that are just f***ing awesome. Dude, you need to learn how to process that yourself. No use in paying people to cut your meat when you can do it yourself. QUOTE (Tex @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 05:34 PM) You can send all the backstrap to me . . . I am off the lease I had been hunting on and looking for another that will not be too expensive. Y'all up north do not know how lucky you are. Instead of helping farmers by controlling the herd, down here the deer are more valuable than the crops. So we actually buy feed corn to fatten them up before harvesting and pay several thousand to get on a decent lease. First of all, a freezer full of backstrap is my dream. Second, my other dream is to hunt on a ranch down in Texas. When I get older, I'm going to take my dad down there for a week long trip or so. I've watched way too many hunting shows and the racks on the deer down there are insane.
