  1. Well, an ace we pick up in a trade would be the optimal option. But from what we have, Poreda, Colon, Torres in that order.
  2. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 03:17 PM) The only thing about Poreda is that he still does not have a passable enough of a change to be a starter. See him once and he's tough to face, see him twice and he's not so bad, see him three times in a game and he's throwing BP How exactly do you know this? You've seen him start many times I suppose? We drafted him in the first round for a reason, and he had been starting in the minors for a reason as well.
  3. I've dislocated both kneecaps 3 or 4 times each. Pretty much puts you out for a month at the least. If you get big time swelling and fluid in the knee, it takes way longer and may require being drained. Sometimes people don't realize they dislocated their kneecap because when they look down, it's in the right place. It's happened to me however that it pops out and snaps right back into place. Every time I dislocated it, I just straighten my leg and it snaps back in. Painful as s***.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 08:34 PM) They actually might suck next year. A key injury to a guy like Zetterberg or Datsyuk for an extended period of time could very well signal some suckage. Otherwise, I think they'll be fine. Obviously not as good as this past season, but still a playoff team.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 10:09 PM) This is shaping up to be a fun 2nd half. Now fans get your ass out there, the club is finally performing!!! Says the guy in California...
  6. QUOTE (brendol @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 01:38 PM) "In my 50 years in this game, i have never seen a shortstop play that close to the line in a double play situation." *Soto hits a grounder right to Alexei and grounds into the double play. Hawk goes silent. Seriously, you pull that one out? He was absolutely right. It was a DP situation and Alexei was playing DEEP at SS. How is it Hawk's fault that Soto hit one into the hole? If you're going to tell me that it was Alexei's awesome scouting on Soto then you're absolutely kidding yourself. Alexei's positioning has been AWFUL this season. And of course he went silent, he can't commentate over a commercial break...
  7. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:41 PM) If things keep going the way they are, Anderson might be the one to go.... His defense is just too valuable. When it boils down to it, Anderson is much more valuable even if he's not playing because he can come in as a defensive replacement. Wise on the other hand, offers nothing if he's not hitting.
  8. I just realized there is a possibility that Wise is let go when Quentin comes back. Oh my...
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) Who's pitching the 9th? Why not give it to Pena? He's available, isn't he?
  10. QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) all i can say is thank god for coop And Grand Valley State University.
  11. Is Matt Thornton one of the most underrated relievers in the MLB? I think so.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 08:08 PM) Quentin got pulled from the Charlotte game int he 5th inning after 2 at bats. Hopefully this was planned. Please be ok.
  13. The warning track power tonight. I've never seen anything like this.
  14. I really really need to get back in this. I decided yesterday that I needed to stop being a lazy ass. I've lost 5 pounds since the beginning of the year (lol) not that it means anything but I just want to tone up a bit. I set up my Total Gym, Ab Lounge, and free weights in my basement again and I'm going to go at it. Between those, regular basketball play, and swimming in my pool, I don't think it'll be too hard. Right now, I'm 6'6 and 230. I'm not fat, but I've got a little extra here and there that I want to tone up. I don't really have a goal weight per se, but I'd say somewhere around 205 would have me nice and toned. Wish me luck.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 07:34 PM) If by "hot as hell" you mean, "a chest so flat that you could carve a turkey on her", then yes, I agree. A little harsh. I'm more of an ass man anyway, but still. Maybe not "hot as hell" but really, really cute.

QUOTE (juddling @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) now that she's of age....we can all look at these pics from the Harry Potter premiere in London and feel a bit less creepy...lol Harry Potter premiere Ha, I actually mentioned earlier, she's hot as hell.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) It's because Darko is Serbian.. Nuff said. Yup, that's the only reason. Not because I've been following him since before he was drafted. Also because of this... The subtitles aren't exactly spot on, but close enough. Some weird word choices there by whoever translated it.
  18. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 06:14 PM) How does Tyrus not have any skills when he puts up decent numbers given the minutes? Do you mean mid to outside shooting skills? I will acknowledge that Tyrus does some things poorly, but that does not mean he is without any skills. With your line of thinking... anyone under the sun who is "athletic" can lace them up and block 2 shots a game, shoot 45% from the field and nearly 80 % from the line. Obviously that does not take skill. Tyrus has almost no low-post game and an inconsistent, albeit improving mid-range jumper. He is not a very good man-to-man defender, and as we've argued before, most of Tyrus' blocks come from help defense.
  19. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 03:45 PM) better than K-Rod, Putz and Wagner when they all get back to full strength? Putz has sucked for them. And 3 guys don't make a bullpen.
  20. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 01:17 PM) Funny this is your argument when you bash anyone using this argument for Tyrus. They are good points though... but just a little ironic coming from you of all people. Mainly because everything Darko does isn't based on athleticism, he actually has some skills. And Darko also has legitimate size, Tyrus does not. But this is not an argument about Darko vs Tyrus. Look at what Darko did in Orlando in the playoffs a couple years ago. Got nearly 30 minutes a game, average 12, 4.5 and 1 while shooting nearly 60% from the field and averaging only .50 turnovers a game.
  21. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 10:26 AM) OK, I was reading about Paulie's 3 dingers on the Sox site and I saw this in the comments after the story ... FWIW, from someone named _Dylan_: Can any Score listeners verify this?
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 07:46 AM) After any trade we make, I like to get the opposing team's fans' views of the deal. Here's what some Arizona fans had to say. So who's the bigger idiot? Kenny Williams or Josh Byrnes? Not gonna lie, this is a horrilble post that proves nothing. Sorry. I'm not saying Brandon Allen is going to be the left-handed Pujols or anything, but he's FAR from a no-name. This stipulation that Brandon Allen, at 23, was way too old for AA or AAA is ludicrous. If he completed the rest of the season at AAA this year and made the team out of Spring Training, he'd still only be 24. And even if he had to do another COMPLETE season at AAA, he'd make our team in 2011 at the age of 25. Man, what a geezer. GMAB.
  23. Michael Jordan is pretty much the only celebrity I can think of that would really hurt to see go.
