  1. Well, I would imagine that Phegley and Flowers are going nowhere now.
  2. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 06:55 PM) I agree completely, but with that said, it may be too late for him to show improvement. I hope he does good though. He was definitely unfairly treated in Detroit. He was 18 when he was drafted, just like a guy coming out of high school. He's still got time, he's shown glimpses. If he got over 30 minutes a game consistently, he could easily average 15 and 10 with 3 blocks. Hell, he put up 18/15/3 on Pau in the 2006 FIBA World Championships. He averaged 16.2, 9.3, and 2.8 in that tournament.
  3. Ugh, I hate the conception that Darko is a "bust" because of who he was drafted in front of. From the day he was drafted, he's been in position for failure. The only time he got consistent minutes and real playing time was in Orlando, and he proved to be a pretty damn good player who was productive, especially defensively. Even as a starter in Memphis, he was taken out of games early. I hope to God the Knicks let him play. It's a shame because he plays damn well for Serbia in international competition. He JUST turned 24.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) I actually can understand the hate if you are watching it on TV/haven't been to a game last season(Slav in your case) but at least for me, I love it after a big goal. Campy, yes, but I want to have fun at sports games, and it's a good time. Yeah, I'm definitely going to a few games this coming season. I've never been to a hockey game at the UC, always wanted to, but it never transpired. I'm sure I'd love it after the first goal. All I know is that after that 7-5 win in the playoffs vs the Canucks, that song was in my head for about 2 weeks.
  5. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) over 100 years it still is. 5 million is 5 million. Ok.
  6. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 09:01 PM) Are you kidding? 5 million is a lot. Over 5 years...no, it's not.
  7. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) Not sure if you went to any games last year, but the goal song is awesome, and should/has become a staple at the UC, so no. Unfortunately no, I didn't go to any games last year. I'm sure it's a hit in the stadium, but watching from home, it just kinda sucks.
  8. Nice to see BA wait back on that one and hit it hard.
  9. How many grounders up the middle can we hit in an inning?
  10. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 08:07 PM) I work for one of those boat tour companies in Chicago, I'm bombarded daily with idiocy that should have made me insane: "Can the boats sink?" - Did people learn to not say that with that whole Titanic problem? But considering the closest thing any tour boat company has legitimately had since the Eastland (100+ years ago) was the Seadog losing prop and having to beach it nothing has even gone remotely wrong with the integrity of the boats on the lake. It's Lake Michigan, not the Bering Straight. "What if the boat sinks?" - Hope there isn't one lifejacket left and you and I are the last two people without one. "What if I fall off the boat?" - Sharks eat you. "Is it free?" - I'm paid to sit here and sell you a boat ride that is free. Right. I got a funny one a couple weeks ago when Obama was in town (he flies over the lake in his helicopter so they can see what's below them easily). "Which helicopter is Obama in?" It would kind of defeat the purpose of having like 12 helicopters if they told every employee making $10 a hour off Navy Pier which one the President is in. I did a history fair project on the Eastland, it capsized in 1915.
  11. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 08:03 PM) That can go to taxes which is also less in Detroit. Plus he could probably by himself a mansion the size of Mike Tyson's in Detroit on his first year's salary alone now considering how bad of a state(no pun) that city is in. Ya Michigan sucks. I know, I go to school there. And only if he was retarded would he buy a house within the city limits of Detroit. Sterling Heights, Bloomfield, etc.
  12. Can we please change our "goal" song from that Amstel Light one to something cool this year? And Campbell for Heatley would be pretty awesome.
  13. Also, it's really nice to see Quentin back in the dugout.
  14. Apparently there is a 3-way trade brewing between the Hawks, Leafs and Sharks that would move around 5 million?

    Pie...um...

    I had peach pie today and the other night. It's delicious. Like apple pie as well. Key Lime Pie is also a favorite of mine. My grandma also makes a makeshift kind of blackberry pie thats amazing. And FWIW, the crust makes the pie. Period.
  16. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 07:13 PM) I know percentage wise it is not a great deal, but 5 million is still a whole lot of money. If he gets one million a year extra for each of the 5 years of his deal then it's not a lot of money. Not in NBA terms.
  17. QUOTE (3E8 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 06:45 PM) Have any of you been on a flight with turbulence so bad you thought the plane was going to go down When I went to Alaska a few years back, we encountered some bad turbulence. I don't know what the hell happened, but we hit some patch of something (or nothing) and it felt like the plane went into a pure freefall for a good 4-5 seconds. I was s***ting bricks.
  18. Well congratu-f***ing-lations to Ben Gordon for getting 5 more million over 5 years. Holding out REALLY paid off for him. Give me a break. And can you please link us to any article that says he's getting 5/60? From what I've heard, his deal starts at 9.5 and goes up at the end.
  19. I've been to 8-12 in the Cell and 3-4 at Wrigley for Cubs/Sox. I REALLY want to see some Barons games.
  20. Pods 7 Nix 6 JD 9 Thome dh PK 3 AJ 2 Beckham 5 Getz 4 BA 8 I like keeping Beckham at 3B, I also like moving him up a bit in the order. That bottom 3 could make a lot of action on the basepaths.
