  1. In the post game presser, Q said Hosa "isn't doing too well" and was getting choked up. That's bad news.
  2. The baseball Gods are evening things out in the House of Horrors. (knocks on wood)
  3. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:11 PM) Yeah all that depth surely paid off. Some new signings: Brunette -12, O'Donnell -6, Morrison -5, Mayers -4 = brutal Then Crawford and Frolik 3 year extensions, Crawford is worst starting goalie in the NHL and Frolik was -10 The only bright spots were Carcillo and Montador who both ended the season injured. Also, what ever happened to Ben Smith? Smith had a concussion at the beginning of the year and missed a lot of time and then suffered another injury recently that put him out.
  4. 90 MPH middle in, you have to CRUSH that. Man.
  5. Everybody's safe! And Alexei STILL hasn't learned to bunt.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:00 PM) Good observation, and it's leading to him jamming himself a lot. Also leads to him pulling his head a bit. Not a good combo.
  7. Viciedo seems to anxious to go out and get the pitch, lunging out a lot.
  8. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) A new goalie is an understatement. Crawford's season totals: 31st in GAA, 35th in SV%, and 0 shutouts. The Hawks did not shutout a single team the entire year. They were the only team without at least one shutout. The Hawks were in the bottom five for the Power Play and Penalty Kill, that needs to be fixed as well. A lot of people were very happy to dump Campbell's salary, but boy could we have used him this season. And boy could we have used the funds we got from freeing up some salary a lot better.
  9. 0-0 after the first period, you knew the Hawks were doomed. Smith stole one. I don't even want to know what Crawford's SV% was tonight.
  10. It's ok guys, we get Carcillo back next season.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) You mean 28-8 0-1 Step up Hawks, you suck! Correct.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) Hawks just dominating to start, but no goal yet. Slav will say they have been outplayed. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 08:47 PM) Soxfan1: Hawks being outplayed badly. Need to pick it up. Correct.
  13. Should be 3-0 Hawks. Smith robbed Shaw, Frolik shot wide, Bolland missed a (pretty much) empty net. Shots 16-2. Goals 0-0. The Hawks got outplayed. I wish they'd play like that for 60 minutes.
  14. I love what Emery said today in the pre-draft presser: http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=8763 Summary: Specifically mentioned the depth of this draft in WR, DE and DT, OT who can also play inside. He also mentioned that in rounds 1 and 2, you're looking for starters and guys who are going to produce and be a part of sub-packages at the minimum. In rounds 3 and 4 you're looking for role players & contributors who have measurables/athleticism that you can develop but give you quality depth for the now. Apparently they've identified 7 players that they want at 19. I really love how open he is in regards to strategy, especially how much detail he gives about trading down.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 05:16 PM) Then you're not all for Viciedo getting his opportunity this year. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
  16. Watching Captain America now to get completely caught up for the Avengers movie. It's kinda boring.
  17. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) Yeah, Jones has made a huge rise in the last few weeks. I really can't make up my mind on him... but I typically love guys with production. And he only had 10.5 sacks in 3 years. Granted, he was playing on some really bad teams. And he only played 7 games last year due to injury (then again, is that another red flag?). But, something about him just screams "workout warrior." I guess it comes down to he'll either boom or bust, and do you want to take a chance on that? There's 4-6 guys I'd rather take on the DL over Jones, Mercilus being one of them. He's raw, sure, but he at least produced. And it's not like Illiniois had a great team either. Right now, I'm really hoping for Coples. Coples/Brockers/Mercilus in that order on the DL, Floyd is he's there depending on what DL is available too. It's nice that they'll have a lot of options.
  18. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:28 AM) That really sucks.. I like what Saad has shown so far. Very smart and plays defense. That's surprised me the most from him. His backcheck has been pretty damn good and he's not afraid to use his body. His offensive talent wasn't on display much in the two games he played, but overall he looks like he'll be a quality player. He's got a similar body to Hossa (Saad 6'1 202, Hossa 6'1 210). It'd be phenomenal to get a poor man's Hossa out of him.
  19. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 11:10 AM) Jones is probably a 3-4 round pick. Uh, he's a low 1st, high 2nd round pick at this point. Walter Football has him 16 to the Jets. Kiper, McShay and Mayock all have say he's a 1st rounder.
  20. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 12:22 AM) Someone needs to stop being an incorrect know-it-all. Yeah, Steve is such a pain sometimes.
