  1. Tomorrow is my first casual Friday ever. I'm slightly intimidated. I prefer to wear dress clothes. What do I do?
  2. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ May 3, 2012 -> 12:02 AM) Just went through some of those and saw David Terrell is number 49. Haha, I was just coming to post that. He's #55 now.
  3. Pretty awful April for Gilmore: .179 AVG (10-56), 0 HR, 7 RBI, 3 2B, 10 R, 24 K, 7 BB (.281 OBP, .232 SLG, .513 OPS)
  4. April 25: 4.1 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 H, 6 K, 3 BB, ND April 30: 5.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 6 K, 3 BB, W On the season: 3.20 ERA, 24 K, 14 BB in 25.1 IP
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) Please share stories about baseball players that your target demographic has actually heard of before. That's easily the biggest complaint I'd have about Farmer and Hawk. If most of us "baseball historians" don't even really know who they're talking about, then I can't imagine what casual listeners are thinking. Noted.
  6. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 3, 2012 -> 07:23 PM) I've been listening to MLB games via Gameday audio for the last couple of weeks and I forgot how good baseball is on radio. I forgot because Ed Farmer is brutal. He's not a radio guy, he can't paint a picture. I've found the best radio broadcasts consist of one broadcaster at a time and don't do the give and take that Farmer and DJ do. DJ is at least tolerable, but probably better suited for TV. I wish the Sox had a radio broadcaster calling their games instead of Farmer. Give it some time. I'm coming to the rescue soon.
  7. Work really gets in the way of my workout time.
  8. I hope this movie is 7 hours long.
  9. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ May 1, 2012 -> 06:08 PM) I agree with you. Brock Lesnar shouldve been Bane, at least his crazy strength would be believable. The acting part wouldnt be a problem since you cant understand what hes saying through the mask anyways. Uh, did you see Warrior? Tom Hardy is fine, and a quality actor.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 1, 2012 -> 09:12 AM) 26? Hell there were hippies trippin long before you were born. Yeah...you still don't get it. Trippin', the way Badger described it above as the rap version, is essentially saying he f***ed up. "@michaelbush29 Does the heat n knicks play today. I havent been watching the playoffs I've been tripping." means: "@michaelbush29 Do the Heat and Knicks play today? I haven't been watching the playoffs, I need to catch up." not "I took shrooms/LSD, I'm tripping and haven't watched the playoffs" QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ May 1, 2012 -> 12:29 PM) Again....different meaning for the 26 year old RB who used it. ^
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 1, 2012 -> 05:14 PM) Which people? He is supposedly starting day 1 at RT for the Lions to succeed Backus at LT. He was brought on formally to "compete" with Gosder Cherilus at RT. But Cherilus is slightly better than Frank Omiyale, so Reiff will probably be starting right off the bat. I'm not sold he'll take over for Backus long-term, but that's definitely the plan. Backus had probably his best season last year.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Apr 30, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) or someone under the age of 26 to define the urban form of "tripping" for them Thank you. Someone had to do it.
  13. Where does one go to purchase a laptop bag? Time to be a professional.

QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Apr 29, 2012 -> 10:01 PM) Are you going to the White Sox career day on May 24? That's a possibility for you since other organizations will be there. I wasn't even aware there was one, but I'll look into it. Thanks. Anywho, my broadcasting career officially starts tomorrow. Here's to the first day of the rest of my life...
  15. The Bears offensive line will be infinitely better simply based on the fact that there will not be as many, if any, seven step drops for the QB anymore. They won't have to endure the long-developing plays with intricate WR routes that Martz was known for. Adding weapons on offense helps the line too. I was pretty positive about the o-line going into last year, saying they would be much better than people thought. I'm even more positive this year now that our offensive coordinator isn't stuck in the 1998 Rams. IMO, Webb is still the weak link in the offensive line, but the Bears almost never helped him out against top pass rushers by chipping or having a TE help double a rusher. Even after Jared Allen repeatedly torched him, they waited for the second half to give him any help. Webb/Williams/Garza/Louis/Carimi will be a solid line next year if they stay healthy. And with the additions of Rachal and Spencer coming back, their depth is better by default, as Omiyale is gone. The run blocking was never a problem, the pass blocking will be helped by quicker developing plays.
  16. This guy isn't just a disgrace to journalism, he's a pathetic human being.

  18. Has anyone else left the "I'm so sad and depressed" stage and entered the "I'm in denial/This is surreal" stage?
  19. Well, this is incredibly disheartening news. This might be the worst win I've ever experienced as a fan in my entire life. The way I see it, the Bulls sans Rose should still beat the 8th seeded 76ers. From there on out, depending on matchups, they'll have a tough time. During the season, the team played confident knowing that Rose would be back soon enough. Well no, he's not coming back and it's all on them. I'll still cheer my little heart out for this team, but the outlook has drastically changed. In the long run, PLEASE, for the love of all things hole, do not rush Derrick Rose back. They made the mistake of doing so all season and that obviously never worked out. I'd say they should shoot for a return right after the All Star break next year, if all goes well. Rushing him back won't help at all, and if Rose is being stubborn, they need to be even more stubborn with him. The single most important factor for this franchise right now is that he comes back completely healthy and ready to go 100%. Anything less is an enormous mistake.
  20. Good highlight video of Evan Rodriguez from the Patriots website: http://www.patriots.com/media-center/video...c1-0411f697e71d
  21. Wanting to take Hawes over Noah was possibly the poorest judgement of my entire life. Thank God that worked out for us.
  22. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 28, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) watching a bit of youtube tape on this guy - he looks tiny, and this is playing against MAC opponents - does have solid hands and is quick for a TE, but hes not going to block anyone at the next level IMO - definitely will be a role for both he and Davis on this team He's a very active blocker though, always keeps his feet moving and can chip 2 or 3 guys on the same play. As long as he gets in the way and can seal on run plays, he'll be just fine. I like his ability in the open field though.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 06:44 PM) Wait, I thought you were having trouble finding a job like us normal people? Things happen when I go out of town, apparently. Well, I currently have one part time job and one paid internship which starts Monday, and I'm waiting to hear back from another (really, really good) part time job.
  24. I hope the Bears work on that back shoulder throw a lot in camp. With Marshall and Jeffery's size, that's a pretty devastating play and near impossible to stop. My goodness, for the first time in my life, the Bears have some legit receivers.
