QUOTE (Jake @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:27 PM) You guys need to settle down. Chris Sale is a very good pitcher, I can't see why you'd ever be mad having him come in a tight situation against a lefty heavy lineup I have no problem going to Sale in this situation. What I'm pissed about is the fact that he's coming out of the bullpen at all. And we have that Addison Reed guy.
-
I'm assuming Robin went with Sale to get the 2 inning save because he's obviously a former starter and is about as fresh as he can be, so why not go to him early to get him some extra work too? I don't f***ing know.
-
I'm so furious at the entire White Sox organization right now.

Great job by Danks to get over to 1st on both those grounder.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 8, 2012 -> 06:44 PM) I don't really believe in that, because hitters eventually just get in to swing mode and are going to try and make contact with anything. There is a no doubt a long AB is in favor of the hitter, but because of the pitch count, not really the likely success of an at-bat. It's absolutely true. And pitch count has nothing to do with it, Danks wasn't going to tire in an at bat against Duncan in the 2nd inning. Batters get the advantage because they get to see everything the pitcher's got. And "swing mode" doesn't mean "swing at everything mode". Duncan was hitting the ball hard on a lot of those pitches by Danks, and they were in various parts of the zone. Then he gets one right down the pipe and pops it up. A better hitter murders a number of those pitches that Danks threw.

Molina was called up to Charlotte for a start last night and didn't do so hot. 4 IP, 6 R all earned, 9 H, 2 HR, 4 K, 1 BB. He was sent back to AA today.
-
AJ threw him out by a mile.

I was waiting for it...took Hawk 13 pitches to say the "the more pitches you see, the more dangerous you get line".
-
Long at bat. Duncan hitting a lot of balls hard, but foul.

QUOTE (Baron @ May 8, 2012 -> 06:25 PM) Negative Stop it.

Viciedo's swing is VERY long right now.

QUOTE (zenryan @ May 8, 2012 -> 06:19 PM) I guess that means he can speak French. He's answered some questions in press conferences before in French after some of those series vs the Canucks. He struggles a bit, but gets it done.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 8, 2012 -> 09:14 AM) Can't believe no one mentioned Gary Thorne. Stud.

Haviland fired, Canadiens have asked permission to talk to Quenneville.

Just downloaded the MLB At-Bat app. AMAZING. I miss John Rooney in the booth with Farmer.

Someone tell Mike Rizzo to shut the f*** up already. My goodness.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 7, 2012 -> 09:41 AM) The last scene in the recent Transformers movie and this one in NY felt so similar...but this one, you could actually be a bit more emotionally involved because the backstory of the characters was developed so fully. Then again, I'm not 100% convinced that Hawkeye and Black Widow are ready for their own separate stand-alone movies. They seem consigned to secondary status in the group, comparatively. Definitely thought Ruffalo was great, but in limited dosages...and with the Bana/Lee and Norton versions already out there in the last decade, there's probably not quite enough demand built-up but it will be a big temptation to resist with how much Avengers is going to rake in globally and with Thor, Iron Man and Captain America sequels already in the pipeline. I don't see why they would hesitate at all with another Hulk movie. If anything, the Avengers movie will have people wanting more and more of all the characters, and IMO, Hulk stole the show in Avengers. Ruffalo was awesome. I agree on Hawkeye and Black Widow though. A prequel? Maybe. But I'm not all that interested in a movie where either is the main character.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 7, 2012 -> 09:05 AM) i didn't say it's not ok! what's silly is you and soxfan ripping on it because you feel "embarassed" doing it. like i said before, that's not a problem with the videos... Whoa whoa whoa, I never ripped the program. If anything I'm extremely impressed with it, and I use certain aspects of it in my workouts, and as I said, I use Ab Ripper X almost daily. We get that you love the program. What you don't seem to understand is that it is not the holy grail of exercise. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 7, 2012 -> 09:09 AM) ok i'm sorry. what's silly is you and soxfan saying you feel "embarassed" to do it. who cares what other people think? If they think less of you for getting in shape and living a healthy life... um... well... then f*** em. there. no ripping. Again, it's "silly" to you, but clearly that is a pretty popular opinion of video workouts. You asked for feedback, we're giving it to you. Take feedback and use it constructively, don't try to persuade others that it's wrong. There is no right or wrong. It's a great program, NO ONE will ever say otherwise. I like some aspects of it, I dislike others.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 7, 2012 -> 05:14 PM) Bills get a 2 year contract done with Fred Jackson. More importantly, should I keep him for my fantasy team?

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:11 PM) that might be a you problem and not a home video workout problem... obviously there are other ways to get in shape. this is just the easiest and least time-consuming for me, and i have fun doing it. P90X is the only workout program i've ever stuck with, and my results have been awesome. It's absolutely a "me" problem, I'm not saying how I feel about them is representative of how the rest of the world does. Though if you're saying I have self-confidence issues or something, that's a totally different story, and you obviously know nothing about that. I'd rather not get grief from my friends for doing imaginary jump roping in my living room. Anywho, that's just my perspective. I can't say I agree with the time consuming part. I can get a great workout in in half the time it takes me to get through a P90X video. It's not like I hate the videos. I mix them into my workout routine on occasion for cardio and lower body stuff. And I do the Ab Ripper X routine almost daily. The whole "follow this program and watch these videos everyday" thing just isn't my thing. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 6, 2012 -> 11:15 PM) for the record - i'm not knocking what you do. if it works for you then that's all that friggin matters. i'm just saying that video workouts have evolved since the 80s. I know they have, but that's just my perspective on it. There is no right or wrong. Obviously you're very passionate about it (especially judging by all the arguments you've had recently about "coaching" or whatever), and if it works for you, that's great. But you asked for feedback, I'm giving it to you. And obviously I'm not alone in that regard.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 6, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) meh. i think it's kinda silly that people have that view. if it works for people, it aint silly. if it has a better success rate than having a gym membership, it aint silly. but that's just me. i mean, i lift weights, i do pushups, i do pullups... it's just that i do it in my apartment. much more convenient. So do I. Doesn't mean I have to watch a video to do it. Doesn't mean I have to make myself feel like awkward to have success. It almost feels belittling. As if there was no possible way to get fit without the video. As if I would be clueless working out without it. When I think of video workouts, I think of middle-aged fat women, watching Jillian Michaels or Richard Simmons, walking in place in their living room. And I had a similar situation as bigruss when I was at school. I started doing P90X in my apartment and the only place big enough was in the common area/living room. When my roommates would come down, I got a ton of s*** about it. I didn't stop me from working out, but it definitely bugged me. And I had to lock the front and back doors so randoms wouldn't walk in and see me since we had people coming in and out of the apartment all the time.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 6, 2012 -> 08:13 PM) 160 would be the lowest weight you could be at 6'6" and be considered healthy. That's not super weird. I mean, you'd look like Chris Sale, but you wouldn't be unhealthy. I don't think BMI is really off in that regard, if the healthy range is 160-240. just depends on your goals. also, you's gonna have to elaborate a bit. why does P90X make you feel like an idiot? EDIT: wtf? split post? weird. It reminds me of those early morning beach-workout videos I'd see on ESPN 2 back in the day. I've never been a fan of the video workout tapes.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 6, 2012 -> 07:13 PM) i'm actually curious about your reasons - since i'm building a business around it. Personally, I feel like an idiot when I'm doing it. Anywho, I've been holding steady the last couple weeks. Since I've started working, I haven't been able to work out nearly as often as I'd like, but I still get at least 3 in a week. I weighed myself at 213 today, down 27 pounds from the 240 I started at. At 6'6, I think 205 pounds is a good goal-weight to maintain. I calculated by BMI today, and I'm at 24.6, which falls just inside the "normal weight" category. However, the range for normal weight is 18.5 -> 24.9. At 6'6, 160 pounds comes in at 18.5 in the BMI scale. That's ridiculously skinny. Either BMI is a bunch of crap, or numbers need to be altered based on height.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2012 -> 04:37 PM) Baron just suffered one of the worst knee injuries you'll ever see I haven't seen the video (and I don't want to) but a dislocated kneecap isn't nearly as severe as a torn ACL or something along those lines. I've dislocated both my kneecaps on each knee four times. And while it is really gruesome looking (and pretty damn painful), you should be good to go in a month or so.
