Went back to Grand Rapids this weekend to visit some friends. Some I haven't seen since December, others since February. I hit the 30 pound mark in weight loss recently and it was incredibly gratifying to get so many compliments and comments from people about how good I looked. All the hard work payed off, but I'm definitely glad this is more of a lifestyle change for me than a diet. I was gone THU-MON and didn't work out once. I came home tonight anxious to get a workout in tomorrow. I'm very proud of myself. I'm just about at the point where I start focusing more on increasing the weights and gaining more muscle rather than in cardio and toning. And I did it all with just a couple of adjustable dumbells up to 40 pounds, a couple resistance bands and a total gym in my basement.

If any of you watched SportsCenter the other night and saw the lacrosse goalie goal at #8 on the Top 10, that was my school (Grand Valley State) and that was my buddy.

3 day weekends sound like a year when you work full time. I'm headed to Wisconsin for some fly fishing.

Fukudome complains to Japanese press about sitting
SoxFan1 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 8, 2012 -> 11:32 PM) So if it's not a story, then I guess every player gives quotes to the press talking about their lack of playing time and wishing that they could play more, correct? I mean...have we seen Lillibridge or Flowers say something like that? Perhaps you're right. I don't speak Japanese so I can't read the original quotes. I'm just wondering why a Chicago sportswriter would consider it important to include in a game story. It might have been just a "general" question like, "How's the season going so far?" and the respnse was something along the lines of "It's going fine, but I don't feel that I've been able to contribute much yet," and somehow that was turned into the news blip that ended up in the story. Do we have anyone who reads or speaks Japanese who can find out EXACTLY what he said in native language? Lillibridge hints at his displeasure with his playing time on his twitter account on occasion. Or, more accurately, how the bench players should be utilized more to help teams win. -
QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2012 -> 09:46 PM) BTW, since you trashed Dirks, he's now 5-6 with 4 RBI for a nice 1.024 OPS on the year Against the Mariners.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 8, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) As I'm sure everyone predicted, the red-hot Flyers go down weakly to New Jersey 4 games to one. Check out the major Fail by Ilya Bryzgalov. It's ok, he only has 8 years left on his contract.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 8, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) What is your point. If the Sox stabilize their performance a bit maybe some of us will come off the ledge and shut up more during games. The team deserved the meltdown as it deserves praise for the nice win. Remember if Santiago gives up one more hit, this is another crushing loss. One, there is no guarantee a base hit scores a run from 2nd. Second, how does the team "deserve the meltdown" ever?

DANKS! RIOS! REED! SUCK IT CHRIS PEREZ.
-
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 8, 2012 -> 09:07 PM) Lol he walked off the mound like "mutha f***a what..." Good. I hope he has that mentality for a long time.
-
Alright Reed, let's shut this s*** down.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2012 -> 09:00 PM) Got lucky there...he almost missed the plate on his slide. Nah, that was just a good, smart slide.
-
QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) Ironically Perez grew up a whitesox fan Sucks for him. We hate him.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:50 PM) This was nice. What? It did end well.
-
Extras. Yay.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:41 PM) They fired the wrong guy. Zero confidence in the leadership of this team moving forward. Just idiotic. Who did you want? Kitchen or Q?
-
QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:40 PM) Thanks for proving me wrong. I can already tell by your proclamation that it's not worth my time. And that you don't watch the rest of the AL Central.

Sox 3-13 with RISP.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) can anybody explain what is going on with pitching staff? When the coaching staff and front office can't, no one can.
-
QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) That's a complete load of s*** and you know it. No it's not.
-
Santiago to pitch the 9th? This will end well.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:31 PM) Trying to get the CG shutout for Danks screwed Ventura there. He should have left well enough alone and not pushed him and taken him out of the game with only good thoughts to rest upon. Now he doesn't even have a Win to show for that effort. Danks already had mid 90's in terms of pitch count, did we really want to put him in the 115-125 range to get a CG with how shaky he's been this season? It's a double-edged sword. Yeah, he's struggled a lot lately, but he's also supposed to be your staff ace.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2012 -> 08:28 PM) JOSH HAMILTON Did he hit a 4th!??!
