  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 8, 2012 -> 03:25 PM) Except for the fact that Cespedes can play a position pretty well defensively, run and has a 50+ inch vertical. He does not have a 50+ inch vertical. And even if he did, that means nothing in baseball.
  2. I don't say this often, but the Bulls deserve to lose.
  3. Awful last 4 minutes. No FG and 4 missed FT. And even after all that, I fully expected Derrick's shot to go in.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) I'm pretty sure if Alexei didn't catch it, Gordon would have. His mitt was just underneath Alexei's. Definitely not. Beckham would have missed it by at least a foot. That play by Alexei was tremendous.
  5. It's settled then. Hawks/Coyotes in round 1. Let's get it, boys.
  6. @mdgonzales Santiago tried to give RV game ball, RV gave it back to him. RV got beer shower for 1st win. #whitesox
  7. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) Wow, this really changes our complexion of our bullpen and team. As long as he does well, then Reed can become an awesome set up man against righties (and emergency/fill-in closer) and Thornton still is a good setup man against lefties. Then Ohman and Crain are decent for the 6th and/or 7th inning. Still not sure about Jones and Stewart. But they won't be used as much if our starters pitch well. Makes me feel really good about our pitching staff overall. And Molina has time to develop and possibly be a starter that we use later in the year. I'd really prefer that Stewart was getting starts regularly in AAA instead of sitting in the pen and not doing much.
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) I really think we can compete with Detroit, obviously a ton has to go our way but I just don't think the Tigers are as good as everyone thinks. And congrats Robin/Santiago!! Their offense will be pretty good, but I don't like their pitching staff nearly as much as most others do. Porcello doesn't scare me. Fister is a mirage. Scherzer has great stuff but has bouts with inconsistency and stamina. And I don't even know who their 5th starter is. And Papa Grande is overrated.
  9. It's been so long since we've had a victory like this. Feels sooooooo good.
  10. PK! RIOS! SAVE #1 FOR SANTIAGO! WIN #1 FOR VENTURA! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! :headbang
  11. ALEXEI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! f***ING RANGE!
  12. QUOTE (cws0591 @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:37 PM) the negativity in this thread is unbelievable.... using too many bullpen arms. beckham swing looks like s***. morels swing looks like s***. rios is s***! if you dislike the entire team then why a fan? off the soapbox! great defense and great HR by Rios.
  13. I know people only see outs, but Rios hit the ball hard a few times already, even if it was on the first pitch a couple times. He looks comfortable at the plate. Calm, and not swinging and bad pitches.
  14. 17 innings into the RV era, I already feel he's more competent a manager than Ozzie ever was. And I don't even agree with every single decision he's made yet.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:30 PM) He does not handle pressure well at all. He's been one of the best setup men in the MLB for a few years now.
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) I am sorry no way is MT a closer in any way, shape or form EVER! ? It's a tie game in the 8th inning.
  17. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) Great so I have to watch Yu Darvish pitch on Monday with my friend. Who thinks this guy is booked for a HOF career. I wouldn't be surprised at all. I think he's going to tear up the AL and make Texas forget who CJ Wilson was.
  18. Outside of De Aza's blunder, our defense looks pretty damn good.
  19. That ball would have hit PK dead in the sternum.
  20. Winters would have called that a strike.
  21. Adam Dunn looks like a totally different player.
  22. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) The Sox will use at least 4 pitchers in this game. Another Sox manager overusing a bullpen - the more things change...... I think a major league pitcher can handle throwing a dozen pitches a day.
  23. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) Gross. Hopefully it's closer by committee. But you're right, it's looking more and more like Santiago. It's one of Santiago or Crain, and based off Thornton's 8th inning experience, I'd have to think it's Crain and not Santiago, unless Crain is still a bit banged up. So really, I have no clue.
  24. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Apr 7, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) His defense alone is worth over 3M. According to fangraphs, Beckham's performance last year was worth 4.9M. Exactly. Beat me to it.
