  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) I really wish we had a better option for #2 hitter. It hurts to see that really all the options are so bad at getting on base for Dunn/Konerko. I feel like that's going to be a common theme all year. De Aza should do fine as a leadoff hitter. Ideally, Beckham is the perfect #2 hitter, but ya.....
  2. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:14 PM) I'm all for solving the Rios problem, but let's not freak out over everything that goes wrong in the first game as if that's a valid sample size We scored like 15 runs last year on Opening Day. Wasn't indication at all of our offense that season.
  3. Does anyone else have a sense of calm come over them when PK bats?
  4. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:42 PM) I was being a smartass previously with Morel but a bunt there by Beckham wouldn't have been a bad idea. I agree there. Maybe help him get his confidence up a bit if he gets him over.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) Texas is loaded. If we win two games this series it may be cause for wild drunkenness. ? It's 1-0 after 2 innings. They scored on a 2B-bunt-sac fly.
  6. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) Agreed. I was thinking of that until I saw all the pop-ups...let's see how it progresses throughout the game and if they keep the same strategy. Even if they pop up 10 more times in this game, if they work the count, things will even out. And as the season wears on, those pop ups become line drives.
  7. Most important thing I'm seeing is more patience at the plate. Yeah, they've popped out a lot, but it's far more important in the long run if the lineup gets into a habit of making pitchers work and getting deep into counts. Alexei and AJ aside of course. But that'll be that way all year.
  8. Was that AB by De Aza better than any Pierre had as a White Sox player?
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 6, 2012 -> 02:39 AM) Guy Pearce looks like a very convincing action hero. I've seen him in so many movies but I still always see him as Fernand Mondego.

    Car Help Thread

I think this would be a nice resource for people who have questions about cars, repairs, maintenance, etc. So here's my story. The last month or so, my car has been making this low, grinding noise under the hood. It isn't loud, but the engine doesn't sound as smooth when idling and accelerating as it used to, still runs fine though. So yesterday, I'm at a red light and the guy in the car next to me looks over and yells into my window, "you've got a bad idler pulley." It caught me off guard, so I said "WHAT!?" and repeated that I have a bad idler pulley, hence the noise under the hood. He even told me it cost $12 at AutoZone. I said thanks and he pulled off when the light turned green. Did some research and it seems to make sense. Anyone know how much it costs to replace the idler pulley? It's a 96 Lincoln Mark VIII.
