QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 04:07 PM) You actually keep those? I kept them for a while when I was a Sophomore, but it gets annoying when 10-20 pile up on your desk every single day. I have organized them. I have 1 shoe box with my academic records (report cards, test scores, etc.), and 3 shoe boxes full of letters. So far I have received letters from Akron, SCSU, GVSU, Rutgers, Loyola, UIC, Illinois, UChicago, Minnesota, and a few other schools. 1 shoe box has letters about college tips (the important 1's go on my bulletin board on my wall), 1 has letters about applications and school info. The 3rd box has miscellaneous stuff from all colleges. The coolest thing was when GVSU sent me a $80 book about their school including ALL information about ALL majors, courses, etc. Really cool. Right now, that is my #1 choice.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) Do a lot of schools have honors points or weighted GPA's? Our's didn't. I dunno put some schools do GPA's on a 5 point scale. Some people refuse to believe this...

QUOTE(GoArow33 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) Thanks man! No problem but I have been sidetracked so I might not have it for a few days...

QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) b**** please. All my classes start at noon or later. I only have 50 minutes of school on Wednesday's and Friday's. We've been over this. My schedule is insanely easy. BTW, Heads, yes, once I start filling out applocations, sending essays, asking for visits and info, no doubt in my mind my desk will be piled up with letters.

QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) This may seem like a meaningless topic, but it was so funny I had to share it. I recently bought a used game entitled "Sports Talk Baseball" for Sega Genesis(I'm a big nostalgic freak), which is from 1992 I believe, and found it to be so much fun. The only thing is it's EASY. I've been playing through season mode with ease beating each and every team(YES, as the White Sox). UNTIL....... Indeed playing as the White Sox, I get to the first series with Oakland. Oakland ges base hit after base hit after base hit. Living up to the miracle working the Sox have been known for, I come back from a 6-2 defecit and win 9-7. The next 2 games however........ I get destroyed and shut down. I'm not sure how far back this unfortunate disadvantage against the A's goes, but damn, this is getting pretty scary......... The Sox just plain suck vs the Athletics. Be it the Philadelphia Athletics, the Kansas City Athletics, or the Oakland Athletics.

QUOTE(dasox24 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) That's a hell of a schedule. You're gonna have no free time, whatsoever. The only good thing is that it will keep you focused rather than, i.e., putting off your homework to play video games, and then never getting it done. If you're taking all of those, your probably pretty damn smart, and know what your getting into. Good luck. I agree. I know it will be tough but I like a good challenge. Thanks for the compliments. The reason for talking such a tough schedule is because the colleges I plan on visiting or attending all said that they give an edge to people who take harder classes so if your grades are a bit lower than usual, they understand that you took some crazy ass classes but still worked very hard. The admissions guy at GVSU told me that I should take any courses available that could be a precursor to my major and that he would take it into consideration when I send in my application. Some for the lasy at Rutgers. I am very happy I joined the College Partnership. It helped me get a step ahead and helped contact these colleges that were already interested in me. I have 3 shoeboxes full of letters from colleges....and I wear a size 13 shoe.

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) This just in! Lyman was just called for another penalty. :headshake OMFG! That dumbass had like 9 penalties in the game. I go to the bathroom "Holding, #89." I go to the kitchen "Holding, #89." I go to walk my dog "Holding, #89." STOP f***ING HOLDING! DONT YOU GET IT!?!?! THEY ARE CATCHING YOU, YOU f***! BLOCK RIGHT!

I agree with pretty much everything you said. TJ ran well and Turner accompanied the play calling to the ability of his men on the field. If you have 2 guys who can go deep in Berrian and Moose, do it. Berrian impressed me outside of like 1 or 2 plays. Rex threw well. If Desmond Clark was in there, he has 2 or 3 more completions. The O-Line was impressive as well even without Garza. They really opened up some holes for the running game and Rex looked comfy in the pocket. The D was solid. The 1st play of the game when Waly jumped offsides and smacked the s*** out of Feeley set the tone of the game to me. I was giddy the hole time. Brown coming back and stuffing the run gave me goosebumps. Man, a healthy Bears team is gonna rock the NFL with such an easy schedule. Good to see Urlacher back and spaniking QB's and HB's again too.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) That is without a doubt the greatest Oasis on the face of the earth!!! It's just a damn shame it is being completely revamped and won't resemble what it once was. So many night after shows in the city were spent at that joint at 1 in the morning. Big Mac and Fries were the standard post show dining experience. Every fishing trip we go on, we stop at the over-highway oasis' in Belvidere. Well, we used to. That damn construction isnt done yet...

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) My head exploded when Crede was just as good as A-Rod. Hawk was f***ing terrible last night. That entire team comparison segment was pretty horrible. "As far as talent, Im taking Dye of Sheffield, any day." Oh, Hawkaroo...

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) Here's the way I board....when the team is doing well, kicking ass, and taking names I don't really say a lot. Yesterday I did put up a thread that asked you to predict the final records of the big three starters, and I think my predictions were on the optimistic side of things. When the team stinks, I feel the need to vent more. So I do it here. That's what the place is here for, right? :headshake Team is doing well....shhh. Team is playing like s***....complain. :headshake

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) Oye ve... Close the entire site down for a day. I think everyone needs a break. Nah, not everyone is panicking after 9 days of August... :rolly

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) The one where you mentioned a 4th thread? This is ridiculous. Probably over 40% of my posts are rooting the team on during the game threads. 60% Negative > 40% Positive
-
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) Wow, you found three threads I composed with negative overtones. Yes, that's definitely representative of everything I've ever posted at Soxtalk. Did you not read the rest of the post?

I agree. Sheffield is a helluva player but he is too selfish and snobby for the Sox. But I am sure Ozzie could handle him...

Negative Threads by Greg Hibbard: wow, who thought it was that bad postgame whining about umpiring Isnt Joe Crede just Jose Valentin There are a fw other borderline threads like the one about the Yankees and the Sox having like the same record since like May 13th...

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) You know usually when people have a problem with me, I tell them to ignore my threads. However, you're doing such a good job bumping this one, I'm gonna let it go. You should take a week off of SoxTalk...or 5.
