That's pretty good. You'd have to have some time on your hands to search fro all those clips and stitch them all together.

13% of Americans don't know about Global Warming
FlaSoxxJim replied to DBAHO's topic in The Filibuster
Of course, all those highly informed Americans had to learn about global warming without any help from the administration. The ongoing broad and blatant political interferance to squelch the science and intimidate the scientists is unethical and repugnant. All this and more at the Union of Concerned Scientists website -
Y'all are pretty sure some NYY games will be released for the public when single games go on sale though, right? I'm serendipitously sheduled to be in town for a conference during the Yankees series and I'm hoping I can just get tix on the 16th through the Sox ticket office or Ticketmaster. last year it happened to be the Boston series I was in for and I ended up having to pay a premium for tix and would like to avoid that if possible this year. On the bright side, I'm once again looking forward to pretty much having my own section once again at Tropicana when the Sox come through in June.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 09:52 AM) I think I've posted once or twice over in that thread, but then I realized how silly it is to do so. I try to respect your guys' right to have hyperbolic conversations about politics (much like the ones that happen in this thread). Exactly the way I feel. I posted the second post in the GOP thread the day it was put up for a laugh and I haven't set foot in the joint since. I like the "only" idea on both sides, but certainly don't want to see it enforced or anything because obviouly Kap, Balta, Northside72, and SS enjoy wandering freely between the two clubhouses. But, hey, we all have a freak or two in our closet.

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 02:24 AM) Its a good thing these freegans found themsleves a web site. This almost seems to be omish. Amish? 'Omish' sounds like a transcendental Buddhist thing. No, the Freegans can use computers and the Internet. Only catch is they have to use 386s and 2800 baud modems. Where's that old Amiga I can lend them?!?

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 30, 2007 -> 01:09 AM) That's amazingly low. Our expectations of the general awareness of Americans is what's amazingly low. Unless the subject matter is who's favored to win the next American Idol title, that is. -
Freegans!

QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 26, 2007 -> 06:07 PM) I just bet my roomate he couldn't eat a full bucket of harold's chicken in one sitting (16 pieces). Ooooh, I would kill for some Harold's. With sopping bread, fries and gizzards. That's good eats right there.

What other thread. I guess I just like to keep to my own kind. How very conservative of me.

QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 11:51 AM) Sammy Davis junior junior.A million dollars to the one that get this! Is that like Jackie Rogers Junior Junior from the SCTV days? QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 11:57 AM) Pretty sure I'm going to lose this one to my wife. Every suggestion I make, she asks me "What does that mean?" In other words, "We're going with Guinness!" Just so long as she understands your intent to shout "BRILLIANT!!" every time the dog does something even remotely intelligent. That cr@p on the dining room rug. . . BRILLIANT!! Chewing the legs off the coffee table. . . BRILLIANT!! Spending the better part of the day licking your balls. . . BRILLIANT!! Methinks she will regret the name in short order.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) Click on Texsox's link and you will understand. I interpreted that piece as highlighting America's sad descent toward a fascist state, not equating Bush with Hitler.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 10:16 PM) But oh how far it has come in the former Comedy Central. He's right in that we arguably are the best division in the AL. I don't think it's even debatable. Four strong teams will be beating the crud out of each other all season. Gotta feel bed for the Royals and the clobbering they are going to get again this year.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 09:14 AM) I believe the Freudian term is: reaction formation. . . Reaction Formation was the name of a decent if forgettable band I used to see back in my Stone Age college days. Poster Children, Material Issue (honestly one of the best power pop bands ever), Lonely Trailer, Modern Humans, Smokin' Toast, Naked Apes, Plump Harriet, Earth Mothers, Otis and the Elevators, Mudhens, Cowboy X, the Last Straw, Haardvark, Elvis Brothers, Combo Audio and Vehicle in Tow were among the other local or regional bands that did their best to keep me from actually staying home at night and studying. Edit: Wow, that stroll down memory lane and remembering how great Material Issue was just prompted me to order up their whole catalog on CD from Amazon! 5 used CDs. $7.50 – you just can't beat that. I'm not an eBay or Amazon junkie by any stretch, but there's something in the air I think because last night I put eBay bids in on a cheapo import violin, a knockoff of a martin Backpacker guitar, and a drill-powered pump. Looks like the violin and the guitar may cost me $0.99 each – until I add the trumped up $25 S+H on each item!

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 01:50 AM) If you don't like to play nice, we'll just chop it off. Sort of like an old school Grimm's Fairy Tale.

You know what? If I ever write a childrens' book, I think the title will be Iguana's Stubborn Erection. Yeah. I bet parents would just scoop that right up for their kids.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 07:26 PM) I would kill to be an iguana DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE, DOUBLE YOUR PEN' Fixed.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 26, 2007 -> 12:23 PM) the f*** kind of math they teach you down there at Sam Houston? it sucks I thought the exact same thing, but you gave a better commentary than I would have.

QUOTE(knightni @ Jan 26, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) I knew Cialis was right. I wonder why iguanas have two penises. Sounds like weird hentai to me. All snakes and almost all lizards have two penises, technically referred to as hemepenes. The alternate between them during successive mating events. The very primitive and highly endangered New Zealand tuatara, the last surviving member of the relict sphenodontid family of lizards, is the exception to the two penis rule. It has no penis, instead using a muscular cloacal opening as a primitive intromittant organ. Boy lizard junk is strang stuff. Not as strange as boy marsupial junk. In marsupials the testes are posiyioned anterior to the penis in all living representatives except the bandicoot. In laymans terms that means that the marsupial nutsack is teabagging the penis during copulation. This has been another exciting edition of Ask Mr. Animal Sex.

I forgot to add that the complete lack of even a mention of Katrina or the Gulf Coast still being in a shambles was pathetic. So much talk about not abandoning our friends in Iraq, but what about our citizens right here?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 07:28 AM) I am surprised no one has really said anything yet. Thoughts? Opinions? I guess I'm still just floored that GWB conceeded the fact that global climate change is occurring. No call for capping greenhouse emissions of course, and not even a full-onadmonition that human activity is playing a significant part in climate change. But a tacit admission of such was there, otherwise changing our behavior (re fuel consumption) would not have any measurable effect either. Does that mean Tony Snow is going to come out today and remind us that we shouldn't take the President's SOTU too literally, like they did after he spoke of our foreign oil addiction last year?

QUOTE(G&T @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 07:49 AM) I think Apple TV only works for downloaded media, not streaming video. I wondered about that, and if there was a way to stream a cached and buffered amount of the stream with a small delay. Probably not. Curses, foiled again.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 07:11 AM) For 3/4 of a million, one year, and as a back up OF/1B, I have no problem with this deal. In todays market, I am surprised he didn't get a 5 year deal at about 20 million dispite his skill set. Yeah, that dollar amount and PT expectation puts my mind at ease over this.

Not even a question for me. I'm thrilled the Bears are there, but since moving away almost 20 years ago, somewhere along the line the stopped being My Bears. The White Sox have never stopped being My White Sox, even when they had the suck turned up to 11. So when it all came together and we owned it wire-to-wire, from the first game of the season to the last out of the WS, 2005 was so completely special and personal i don't think anything can ever top it. That said, Go Bears!
