  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 10:40 AM) Tmar - Yep, I was impressed. Move over, Zombie Geek, you got competition!
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) Interesting. I don't know that it means much, because the exsistance of the Templars has never been doubted. Too bad one of them didn't have the complete book of Templar secrets buried with him, because the stories are just facinating to hear. Hopefully we will learn a lot from these guys. Well, these guys in particular bit it only 60 years or so after the founding, so this was likely when they were still committed to the mandate of protecting Jeruselem pilgrims and before they had acquired the vast wealth that they would over the next 140 ore so years. So, if they had a book with them it would have been the INcomplete secrets version.
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 10:13 AM) bottle high tops or low? If we're talking Chucks, gotta be high. Maltese Falcon or Key Largo?
  4. QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 10:10 AM) Tombs of the Blind Dead Ah, thanks. I'm, sadly, not as up on my 1970s Spanish zombie flicks as I should be. Sounds like that film series focuses on the satanic/Baphomet worshipping mythos of the Templar. A cool aspect of the mythos for sure, but probably a bogus charge to get the Templar branded as heretics to get them arrested and their holdings seized on the orders of the King of France and the Pope.
  5. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 09:36 AM) Dishwasher silver or gold? gold frontal lobotomy or bottle in frontame?
  6. Pretty cool find. Hey, Kid what film did that shot come from?
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) Cheeta of Tarzan fame turned 74 today. http://www.cheetathechimp.org/ In case you forgot to send a card . . . Cheeta rawkz!
  8. Give me your hungry, your tired your poor I’ll piss on ’em That’s what the Statue of Bigotry says Your poor huddled masses, let’s club ’em to death And get it over with and just dump ’em on the boulevard --Lou Reed, Dirty Boulevard (1989)
  9. I don't think they will, it will be a tease and then then they'll show Muhammad Ali or something. The more important question: Will Cartman make it all the way to Hollywood on his Big Wheel?
  10. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 12:43 PM) Very short. Snakes on a Plane or Goats on a Boat? Goats on a Mutherf@cK!n& boat!!! Nah, just doesn't have the same ring to it. Logan's Run or Blade Runner?
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 10:45 AM) Having just checked my calculator...I think you could almost certainly say exactly the same thing about the U.S. I'm sure that is the case. But I don't know that Mexico has extreme outliers like the Walton and Gates, etc. families that skew the numbers as much.
  12. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 10:03 AM) It is unfair to compare Mexico and US wages. The employee benefit structures are much different. But there is no doubt that Mexico has killed their middle class a couple times. Once again, it is a country of have and have nots. The point is that if this Bresnahan guy's thrus is that Mexico should be able to do things like the US currently does, then a "good job" for an illegal American in Mexico should earn him half of the going wage of native mexicans by definition. But I completely agree about the economic disparity in Mexico. I just read that the richest 35 families in Mexico are worth as much as the poorest 15 million people.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 09:38 AM) And Jim, I think I was a bit snarkier than SS my dreaming big sarcasm was possibly out of line. I dunno. Yours was in green after all, so it *may contain snark*. I appreciate that SS' post was just one of those email forwards of little consequence. But a lot of it is really divorced from reality. Consider: By "nice job" that must mean a job that pays less than half of what a native gets, bacause that is the situation for Mexican illegals here. So what does that work out to for David M. Bresnahan when he makes his big move to Mexico? In a country where most people are making less in real wages now than they did in 1980, with a per capita income that is one-fourth that of the United States, and a current daily minimum wage equivalent of less than $3/day, I bet Mr. Bresnahan is really looking forward to taking care of his family with his new gig that nets him half of that.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 07:16 AM) Jaegar Bomb High Draft Pick or First Round Loss? Jaegurmeister is the single foulest drink ever concocted by humankind. i get physically ill just thinking about the stuff. The "friends" buying me drinks at my bachelor party 10 years ago had a lot to do with it. :puke High Draft Pick Hostess or Dolly Madison?
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 09:17 AM) . . . So the comparison fails on many levels. Not the least of which is national security. Tex, that piece you posted provides a perfect roadmap for terrorists and drug traffickers coming in from Canada. Just make sure you plan to come in on the Ambassador Bridge at the busiest tme of the week and you'll be "lane flushed" right in, no questions asked. SS2k5, as concerned about national security as you seem to be based on other posts, the irrelevant snark you posted in response to Tex seems out of character.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) I used to love those, then I think I burned out on them as I cannot even look at them any more. I moved away before I had a chance to burn out on them. Now I manage to get a box or two a year and they are like gold.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) Matt's Chocolate Chips (and their Oatmeal cookies) trump all other cookies of those types. I will only buy those occasionally because I know I will mow through them. That is only if you don't count Salerno Butter Cookies. They are my cookie kryptonite.
  19. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) Great story. lol I could see the kid saying "Come on, you gave up a kidney for me, how hard is it to give me an A."
  20. QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) Clash of the Titans Parker or Coltrane? Damn. I think A Love Supreme is one of the best albums ever put on vinyl, but I gotta go with Parker overall. Grinch Who Stole Christmas or Merry Christmas Charlie Brown?
  21. That is a great story and a great human being.
  22. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 10:25 AM) Pool sober, darts drunk. Leadbelly or Willie McTell? Leadbelly Monk or Mingus?

    Words

Putting it all together thus far: Having recovered from the 12-gague vasectemy, Johhny left the house for an evening of quaffing from the firkin, his buckshot-riddled nethers ornately festooned with his favorite merkin. And to think, I could have been an English Comp teacher.
