Toilet Seats
I vote for unpadded, made of unfinished wood, and more than likely to put a big splinter in your arse.

Yeah, I don't see them (or anyone) ever coming out with another With Sympathy or anything. Not that that is a bad thing, mind you...

Attendance
Great job getting out to the park, Sox Fans!!! Hawk said 30K+ had already been sold for the Twins games I think. It's great, and it will make the casual fans want to pick up the phone or get online and get out to the game.

How does it compare to Rape and Honey and A Mind is a Terrible Thing? I have to admit that other than getting a chuckle out of "Jesus Built My Hotrod" when it came out, I had lost interest in anything they were doing by then. Then again I'm one of the apparent few people that thought they sounded more original way back on Twitch and went too metallic on Rape and honey. I guess I'm more pre-Industrial than Industrial, eh?

SuperNuke! Happy Birthday!
I was more of a '50' person until I gave up on North American megabrew - probably because we couldn't get it as often as Blue and it was kind of a treat. Drink some Unibrue or at least some Red Cap (in stubbies) for me instead.

Maggs Back On DL
Well, 17-19 wasn't exactly fluorishing without Magglio in the lineup. Still, we have Carl now and didn't then, and even when Frank was in during that stretch he was hurting/slumping for a lot of it, so let's see what they can do.

Maggs Back On DL
There's gonna be a lot of rust to shake off for them to both jump right in and perform at a pennent race/playoff level.... likely rehab stints to get the eye and swings back, etc. I'm trying to be optimistic about it to (as optimistic as possible), but this is going to be rough. On a more bittersweet sentimental note, I was already bumming for Frank and his not being a part of the stretch run in what might be "the year"... now I'm doubly bummed for magglio as well.

Maggs Back On DL
Very true, and Ozzie told tried to talk him out of it, even telling him if he played the field and aggreivated the injury he'd catch hell for it. Little solace if we lose him for 4-6 weeks. Crap.

Maggs Back On DL
Just about everybody (not me) was screaming for him to be back way too early in my opinion (like before the Wrigly series) and it just seemed like an unnecessary rush if he wasn't 100% then. Apparently he still was not. Once again...

Maggs Back On DL
Not good at all. Really on the DL and not just day-to-day?? Ouch.

Rogue Waves
Sounds like QueenPrawn is better suited to give the most up-to-date theories than I am. I do know that our sub expedituion changed a lot of thought as to what happened but I don't know whether all of our speculations have held up over time. Queenie...?

Rogue Waves
The oceanographic research institution I work at were the ones that headed up the 1994 submersible expedition on the Fitzgerald. here's a research capsule from NOAA: You can also buy this spiffy video of the expedition that we put out a couple years ago. [/shameless plug]

Rogue Waves
An awesome beer from our friends at Cleveland's Great Lakes Brewing Company, no? Note to self: Damn, I should have done up Great Lakes in a beer geek thread for during the most excellent trouncin' of the Tribe.

Rogue Waves
True, but the vast majority are not lost to the mysterious rogue waves. Lots of old ships in the world fleet - vessels that won't be certified as seaworthy by most nations, but the owners register them in foreign countries with lax regulations to get a few more years out of them. Plus the captains are all coked up or drunk off their asses...

Any bug experts
First off Flash, should we be concerned that you are familiar with a website called "Sheep Mania" Those are some beauties, though. If DHABO was the man with the mystery insect I'd say we might be in the neighborhood, since I think Jerrawa Creek is in Australia. The site's ACCURATE use of the term 'bug' (a member of Order Hemiptera with mouthparts adapted for sucking rather than biting or chewing) is a refreshing change though. That mantis as also georgous, probably too high class for Jersey though...

Any bug experts
Not bug... INSECT! INSECT!! INSECT!!! Sorry, I get carried away sometimes. And yes, keep us updated on the infestation. As for the Starship Trooper ref... it's very vivid but didn't help me. I read the Heinlein novel way back when, and ALMOST saw the film until every review I read about it said it sucked ass.

Any bug experts
Hmmm. I am intrigued, but stumped for the moment. When your pest guy tells you what it is be sure to post back here and educate me. Based your assessment of a hard body, I'd still think it's a beetle - unless by 'hard' you mean 'crunchy-under-foot', then It could be anything. The only thing that comes to mind when you say frog + cricket would be some kind of mole cricket. ^^ some kind of mole cricket ^^ Some of them have longer antennae than the one shown, and the antennae are thinner than in our Asian beetle. They are a southeastern lawn pest but there are a few species that get uup the seaboard to NJ, NY. That's it, I can't think of anything else off the top of me head.
