Favorite Road Signs or City Names
I never can find that one, even though I'm sure I'm real close. That's when my wife loses her patience with me and says it would be better if she was doing the driving.

Favorite Road Signs or City Names
Austria, not Australia Kap. It makes more sense that the town would have survived all these years in a non-English speaking country.

anyone got the $$$ info regarding the koch deal?
Pretty much. This is what the Southtown reported today:

Worst Songs of All Time
That was RUPERT Holmes. The flipside was "Him," and it is my very great shame that I know that.

Worst Songs of All Time
You're selling Chicago's musical heritage a little short there. Muddy Waters? Shadows of Knight? The Association? (maybe Windy and Up Up & Away were too schmaltzy, but Cherish is the 2nd most radio=played song of Rock and Roll after You've lost that loving feeling.') The Buckinghams (5 top 10 songs) Chicago – CTA Vol. 1 and anything before Kath checked out is still insanely great, and I can stomach most of their stuff through XI or Hot Streets. Once Cetera decided he WAS Chicago and Lamb, Pankov, and Co. let him do it they were officially musically irrelevant. Buddy Guy? Liz Phair? Urge Overkill? - A lot of folks didn't think much of them I know but I liked them. Pumpkins?!!? I don't know, there are some pretty good musicians/bands spanning 6 decades in that group.

Maggs might be back next week
But it's only been two weeks since the surgery! This seems a little rushed, and I'd hate to see us take 1 step forward and 10 steps back if he's not ready in even a limited capacity. If he's coming along that well it's great. But I'd rather they let him heal up through the rest of June at least.

KOCH TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's the money deal for all who thought we'd really fleeced the Marlins. From Cowley's Southtown column this morning: We had already paid out a bunch, and we're pating AT LEAST $1.875 million more, on top of the $2.63 million we have already paid. Marlins are footing less than $2 million as expected.

KOCH TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was nervous as well. This is how rumors get started, ain't it?

KOCH TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just a way of saying the Marlins are picking up some small portion of Koch's tab I'm sure. We're still going to pay most of that $$$.

KOCH TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gotcha... thanks Steve.

KOCH TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!
I COMPLETELY missed Jeremy Reed's departure from the organization... When, how, and for who?

KOCH TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just want to make sure this Wilson Valdez thing isn't another KW Barry/Berry mix-up... Are we sure we didn't trade for THIS GUY by mistake? Not saying that would be the worst trade either...

KOCH TRADED!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was reported that Wunsch went on the DL a day or two ago. I'll bet we're still paying at least $5 million of Koch's salary, so it's not exactly like we freed up a bunch of money. Not saying I'm not relieved by the news, mind you.

Goddamn leadof walk. I have disliked Pollite since day 1. This didn't help his case.

Looking at Esteban tonight so far, your feeling is well founded. I just don't know if he'll go 8 innings tonight and get us to Shingo.

He could use a couple more - the Marlins offense is too potent to rest on 1 run.

Least favorite movies
I agree with Gleason on this one – I thought Dark City was visually and stunning and created an amazing, dark Gotham-City-meets-SciFi atmosphere. It presaged the Matrix, except that it was space zombies and not machines. I love the Matrix, but I turned a bunch of people onto Dark City for comparison when that came out.
