I think "exaggerating the truth" qualifies as an oxymoron, but I get your meaning. Little fear of corrupting the weak-minded at any rate, since most of the Bushies are not going to see the film anyway. As far as making money off the innocent dead, you have to be kidding? The Holocaust or Pearl Harbor or 9-11 any human atrocity shouldn't be the subject of a documentary film because someone may make money off of it?

I don't fault him for feeling the way he feels, only for putting it out in the papers where at can't do anything but rock the boat. Why not say something like, 'We'll I can't say I'm thrilled about the prospect of going to relief and I think I've done well enough to keep my spot in the rotation so I'll have to discuss it with Ozzie and Coop.' Same sentiment and gets the same point across without having to say publicly 'I'd rather be traded than put in the 'pen.' I just don't think we need another Rick White telling the manager and coaches how to use their pitchers right now.

WE OFFICIALLY OWN THE TWINKS AND THEIR STUPID HUMPDOME!

YES THEY CAN!!!!

And the SUBJECT and POINT of the response is to question how someone can be expected to be taken seriously when they accuse someone of corrupting truth when that post itself is nothing but corrupted, twisted rhetoric. Break granted.

There's no spin, Chaos. You are apparently the one confused as to the original quote: "The only ones hurting innocent people are the terrorists by killing and Michael Moore by corrupting" If terrorists and Moore are in fact the only ones doing all the hurting of innocents, then I was just looking for a reason behind the tens-of-thousands of DEAD Iraqi civilians since I pretty much figured out Moore and the terrorists didn't do it all (though the terrorists have done their fair share certainly). Of course, the American Way is to deny anyone has been killed in Iraq that didn't deserve it, so I can see that it's me who is clearly not with the program here.

I understand he would look at it as a demotion, and also that it's just one of many possible scenarios when he gets back. But instead of saying he's going to do what is best for the team, he's in the paper saying he'd want out if asked to move to the bullpen. Has he forgotten about his lack of success the last 6 starts? From Cowley in today's Southtown.

The Bush campaign has an email campaign going on where they pretty much compare all Dems to Hitler. They say it is to point out the (perceived) injustice of MoveOn.org's posting a contest entry by a PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL on their site that made the Hitler/Bush visual comparison. Of course, MoveOn removed the entry when pressed to do so, but the Bush campaign people say they have no intention of pulling the plug on their campaign.

So was it the terrorists or Moore that has killed somewhere between 10K and 30K Iraqi citizens and counting??

Going tonight and very much looking forward to it.

Agreed, if one can be annoying in a lifeless, cardboard kind of way. With the Extra Innings package I have had to suffer through the Minny telecasts more often than not this year for Sox/Twinks.
-
I've also been riding Pollitte all year, and gotta say he has been quietly impressive the last 2-3 weeks. I'm more comfortable seeing him come in than Cotts at the moment, and I started out the year really high on Cotts. I don't like seeing either of these guys in for much more than an inning at a stretch though (that includes Adkins), so we'd better be able to count on the starters to go 7 strong more often than not or the wheels can come off.

A pitcher throwing for you once every 5 days isn't going to take you to the promised land on his own. I'm glad Bart didn't throw for us like he is for Anaheim this year, and he wasn't the Second Coming but he was a workhorse for us last year.

Well, can't you delete some of them then??

That sounds way more complicated than I thought was going on. I just figured you didn't pay the electric bill and they turned out the lights on ya. knock 'em dead on those exams. THEN chain yourself to your workstation simply for our collective benefit.

I did Mammoth Caves as a kid and it was pretty amazing. If you have time in Cincy the Zoo is pretty good. I think the Columbus Zoo edges it out for the top spot in Ohio (how did they get two great zoos), but it's still one of the best zoos I've been to.

While in for a visit last week I had my first Greektown dinner in a long time and it was very nice. Kalamar, dolmas, saganaki, srimp torkelamano, braised lamb with stewed dandelion greens, and NO ouzo (sp?) or grappa (nasty stuff). YUMM! It's been a long time since I've done Chinatown. I need to fix that the next time I'm in town.

That's the 3rd best feature of the school. 2nd best feature: proximity to Greektown. 1st best feature: I, er..., 'put away childish things,' 'became a man,' 'entered a wider world..' (how should I put it tactfully?), etc. in a grassy courtyard there the summer before my HS senior year That, of course, had everything to do with some lax carding policies at the afforementioned Greektown

Ozzie adopted your mailman's brother's friend's neice?!? Weird.

It's different when you are a parent. You want to protect your kids from just about anything you can, and that includes foul language. It's not that you really can protect your kids from everything, but it shouldn't be too much to ask fellow gamegoers to watch their language with kids in attendance. It's something I have made a point of long before I became a parent, probably since back in high school. Every adult has probably accidentally dropped an F-bomb or two around kids, but it's just common courtesy to try not to do it and especially to respect a parent's request for the sake of their kids. Adults should be capable of understanding there are times when profanity is appropriate and times where it is not. The words in and of themselves are not evil, and nobody's going to he2xhockysticks for using them. But kids grow up fast enough as it is without being showered with profanity from all sides. This topic has already been discussed at length on Pale Hose I see, and I'm not planning on adding to the argument. But I think the cop and his wifge had every right to confront the Brothers Idiotic about their language. Who knew they would get violent over it? It's like predicting who's going to pull a gun on you in traffic if you flip them off for cutting you off, you just assume the people around you are not THAT detached from reality. If I was at the park and had inadvertently offended someone around me by my language, I woulkd appreciate it if they talked to me first and asked me to cool it before setting security on me. Again i know that's just because I know my response would be apologetic and I would respect the request, but I think it's in your rights to ask others to watch their mouths.
-
What a couple of utter morons. But it definately makes you think about your personal safety before you tell jerks like this to curb their language. And of course, it helps perpetuate the drunk trash Sox fan image we all have to put up with. The only ugly incident I witnessed at Friday's Sox-Cubs was in the can, and it was unfortunately a drunk asshole "Sox fan" starting trouble. I know I wasn't the only Sox fan present that wanted to belt the guy.

I'm among the very happy, even though Olivo had become a favorite. Time to make it happen already!
