  1. Wunsch activated at Charlotte, to replace Borchard probably. I see Ginter vs Diaz tonight there. Lubisich up to Birm, Murray down to W-S Dizard up to W-S Nicholson down to W-S.
  2. You are correct, Royals wanted him, Ring was the one who made the deal happen. For every trade prospects come thru, I bet there are 6-8 that do not.
  3. Seems like he is always DHing. I thought I had heard he was a very good SS at UCLA, and tho he was drafted as a 3B, many thought he could play SS in the pros. Any info about him???
  4. Correct, Sanders has done very well of late.
  5. I am as big a prospect follower as any. I agree with a lot of Old Socks info. I agree KW has to get tougher in negotiations, maybe he is learning that. What I absolutely do not agree with is his statement that most of the time it turns out bad. In BA or somewhere I read (and agree with from my 40+ years as a true baseball fanatic) that a very large number of these prospects never pan out. I mean a very high number. It is easy to pick out 5-10 trades where it did, but I would guess 80-90% of the time, the team getting the major leaguer for a prospect gets the better of the deal. I wish he had told Texas they could only choose 2 instead of 3. It is funny that Franky is the one I figured would never haunt us, may or may not yet. But as an almost 50 year old fan, I am glad KW has the gumption to try and get this team to a World Series, I have not seen one yet, I was only 3 when we went the last time.
  6. Actually, Allen was known to be a good wood bat hitter for a high school kid, surprised he is struggling, but he will be fine.
  7. I knew I should have posted them last night as links as well, sigh.
  8. Yep, easy to look in hindsight too. I mean 2 years ago if we had added Honel into a trade it might look like a good one today. Or Borchard for a pitcher a couple years ago when his stock was real high. Rupe may make it yet, but Webster looks like he was expendable. Francisco may be one we hated to part with, who would have thought that last year. Not I. I still say 75% of the time, trading a prospect is the way to go. Look at Cubs, bet they wish they had moved Kelton, even Guzman when his stock was sky high.
  9. Nope, you have to add in sacrifice flies etc.... as a time at bat and that changes the OBP vs the batting average.
  10. I thought it was to share information. Oh well, what do I know.
  11. They still have him batting 2 or 3 in the lineup, so he must be doing something right. I think he is doing fine, average is low, but he seems to be doing most things well.
  12. I guess I was short on my reply. Just kills me that all the information is out there and there are easy links to it all and then someone asks instead of going and looking. My bad.
  13. Young was on fire, then they moved him up in the order and he died. Keep him down in the order for the season, let him gain his confidence. He sure was going well before he hit this latest streak.
  14. Yep, but he is not a closer by any means. Smith has had a very good year. I would like to see him up in AAA soon too. We could use a guy like him, seems to be able to pitch very often and effectively.
  15. What do you mean? Smith has been doing it the past couple weeks when Baj was hurt. Why would they change it up now??
  16. Flores does not have it tonight, Schnur no hits. Nanita with a double and 2 walks and Deininger with 3 solid innings are hilites for Kanny. http://milb.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnfor...px?GAMEID=12111
  17. He will be better in RF than Gload would be. He has been a good OF over the years, just lost the speed/quickness for CF. He would be just fine in RF and Maggs DHing in case Maggs is not able to play RF.
  18. Are you nuts Josh???? Freaking Everett gives us a veteran hitter who can take a walk, hit with power and was our most clutch hitter last half of last season for a couple of AAAA pitchers. Majewsji would never make our staff and Rauch would be gone next year if he did not make it, since out of options. Now we can promote 2 pitchers up to AAA, Baj and a starter and let them progress up to the majors. Great trade.
  19. Very nice start for Haigwood, offense paced by Young and Gray. Schnur 1-3 to extend hitting streak. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform...px?GAMEID=11615
  20. Nice relief for Pena, but Bristol loses 5-4. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform...px?GAMEID=17044 Great Falls wins 8-6 on 9th inning homer for Collaro. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform...px?GAMEID=19398 Schnur stays very hot, must be at least 13 game hitting streak now. Flores wins with good relief from Fabio and Deininger. Kanny wins 7-1 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform...px?GAMEID=11613
  21. You are nuts, Jose is our best SS, Uribe will play 3B.
  22. When you see that it is usually wrong, they have fooled me more that once like that.
  23. Rupe was just promoted up to High A ball.
  24. Young has way better baseball talent and instincts than Webster, just look at his patience with walks etc... He may K alot, but possibly some of those are looking at strike 3 and could change as umping gets better on his way up. I realize he may bomb, but I think we have a keeper here and would not doubt if he becomes the best of the lot of our young OFs.
