  1. Isn't there usually a huge jump in arb 3, where they go close to market value? Even so, they have 30M+ coming off the books in Keuchel and Abreu.
  2. The overwhelming majority of posters on here are male, so the answer for most of us is no. I can count the number of known active female posters on one hand. idk about you.
  3. Not necessarily. Giolito is in arb 3 next year and will be getting 20M+ Lynn has an 18.5M salary. It might cost 10M more between the two guys, if that. They get a lot of flexibility next year with Abreu and Keuchel off the books, if they get smart and DFA Keuchel.
  4. Whose fucking idea was it to start Sheets vs a LHP? I'm not as down on Sheets as most of the board as the strong side of a platoon. Sheets at 1B/DH vs RHP/Engel in RF vs LHP should be a thing.
  5. Yeah I was guilty of impatience there. I didn't have faith that he'd put it together. He used to be a gopher ball machine.
  6. He told them that a week ago. There was an article on the Athletic where Menechino said that being patient and waiting for their pitch was the way to get out of it. https://theathletic.com/3269157/2022/04/25/white-sox-seek-patience-to-reverse-offensive-slump-if-youre-not-taking-your-walks-youre-falling-into-their-plan/ Menechino isn't the problem, it's the players themselves. He's got an entire lineup of headcases.
  7. Oh yeah..... At the time of the trade, Cease was in A+ and not a top 100 prospect though.
  8. You know what good front offices would do? They'd trade those guys and then replace them in FA. It would basically be getting prospects for free, with a small downgrade in SP quality. Trade these guys and go sign Syndergaard/Musgrove and Manaea.
  9. Eloy is worth more to the Sox than any other team. It is what it is. You keep him and hope he has a good, healthy year and go from there, whether you want to keep him or sell.
  10. He was topping out at 97 mph in 2019 and 2020 but now he's barely scraping 95. Luckily the carry on his fastball is elite, so hitters are still late on it. It could be a simple arm slot issue but they're not going to fix what isn't broken. The guy from 19/20 had A+ ace written all over him, the guy now is a solid #2. He always gives up HRs because he lives at the top of the strike zone with the heater, so if said pitch continues to be more hittable, it also makes his change more hittable, and then what happens? I think Giolito is fine for the rest of the Sox team control but I wouldn't bet on him into his 30s as of right now. I like the guy, he's paid his dues, bet on himself and I hope he gets paid. I understand why the Sox don't want to do it though.
  11. You have to consider moving Giolito and Lynn if the season goes south. 1.5 years of control and Lynn is old/the Sox don't seem to want to pay LG market value. I don't blame them because LG's fastball has declined each year since he adopted his new delivery, and I think a lot of pitching people think it's hard on his shoulder. Giolito is my favorite player on the Sox, but I totally understand why they don't want to re-sign him. I hope he gets paid somewhere.
  12. TG saying the quiet part out loud.
  13. Sheets had a good day at the plate outside of that AB, and has been one of the Sox better hitters this year, though that's not saying much.
  14. Those are the kind of ABs the entire team needs to have.
