Adding a healthy Moncada to this lineup next year is going to be like adding Rendon or Machado. I mean....it's going to be unfair to opposing pitchers. Then Vaughn as well. They can get away with Engel in RF.

Yeah, that's where a hitter generates their power, from hip rotation. I honestly think that his recovery from the leg injury is what has been affected by Covid. He's not healing up as fast because of the fatigue. I wish they'd have just given him 2-3 weeks off instead of futzing around with him. He was raking until he pulled up lame.

I don't disagree. I think the window to win with this group has closed anyway, if it ever was open. If they wanted to trade guys like Fuller, Hicks, Mack, Robinson I have no problems with it. They're not going to win with these guys, so I don't mind if they cash in on them. After this season, Fuller will be 29 Hicks will be 31 Mack will be 30 Robinson will be 28 These guys don't fit their window anyway.

He was asked about Mazara and Moncada's underperformance jointly and said "they had covid" The "they" was the key word. You would have had to have been paying attention. Then he caught himself in it and started talking only about Moncada.

He let it slip when talking about Moncada....Been trying to find some audio but I can't find it again. Heard it on the pregame show Saturday.

Well, yeah...he's already had one serious injury. I don't know why they won't pay him. It makes no sense. Anyway, I wouldn't blame him if he wanted both to get paid and a better QB to throw him the ball. Pace and Nagy have a strict "no turd" rule so if he starts to make a stink publicly that's an easy way to get traded/paid.

More about Moncada who has 60M remaining on his deal than Mazara. However, they could potentially use covid/his late start as an excuse to bring him back and not upgrade RF. Maybe it's just me being cynical.
