  1. I've seen his minor league stats. Nick Madrigal's minors stats .309/.371/.769 I would have thought he'd have done better than that in the first two categories when they drafted him. You're acting like those with a critical eye haven't been following him in the minors...we have.
  2. Madrigal's ceiling is Placido Polanco. That's not a first round pick, imo, let alone a top 5 pick in the draft. When I was more on board with Madrigal at 4, I thought he had a chance to be a generational hitter for average. A consistent .330+ guy. If that's the case, it's fine. What I've always been concerned about is that his low strikeout rate was due to making contact for the sake of not striking out early in the count. So far, those concerns are very valid. The more I watch Madrigal the more concerned I get. Him being a 50-55 runner isn't good either when he was billed as a 60-65 runner.
  3. I love Moncada as a player, I really do....given the way they started their careers, I have no idea how you pick Robert here. Moncada has way more swing and miss in his game than Robert does. As others have said, Moncada has top 15 in the game potential, while Robert has #1 potential.
  4. Garcia is a nice 4th OF. He should be nowhere near the IF.
  5. There are enough guys ahead of him. He doesn't throw 102 anymore tops out at 98 now.
  6. Moncada has become a wonderful pure hitter.
  7. Cishek taking Herrera's place as token bullpen gascan.
  8. How good are Wander Franco and Gavin Lux? Seriously?
  9. OMG Robert is awesome. Panther Party!
  10. QFT. You are so correct here. Out of all of the Sox prospects to pull it off, I would have never picked it to be Robert. I'd have picked Eloy or Moncada over Robert. I never thought Madrigal was a 70 runner but I did think he was a 60 runner.
  11. He's swinging at pitcher's pitches and giving away at bats/outs for the sake of making contact, which is exactly what I feared most about his profile. His speed not being anywhere close to as advertised isn't good either.
  12. I get it, it's early. I'll give him until next July before I get on his case for suckage.
  13. It reminds me of grindy Twins bullshit in the Metrodome. Remember the one Luis Castillo hit there that was just like that?
  14. I thought he was around Moncada's speed, but he's not. It doesn't bode well. Madrigal has a lot of issues right now, but it's early.
  15. Shades of Luis Castillo in the baggie dome lol.
  16. Me too on both. Holy shit we have like the exact same scouting philosophy lol. I'm convinced Crochet would have gone top 5 if not 1st had he pitched a full college season.
  17. That's where I am with both Madrigal and Vaughn. I don't hate either but I would have preferred they go with bigger upside at the spot they were picking. Hopefully Vaughn is Frank Thomas Jr and I look stupid.
