  1. I'm on the fence with Bumgarner. There are a lot of innings on that arm.....He gives up a lot of gopher balls....That being said, I was in favor of him most of the season. Only after I looked further did I sour on him a bit.
  2. My guess is that Grandal's best offers outside the Sox were in the $3/52 range.
  3. I think we have to ask ourselves if the Sox are a universally undesirable location for players. Somewhere they go when they have few or no options.
  4. He is, they're all risky but Wheeler was the least risky IMO.
  5. Like others said, was it real money or fake money? My guess is that they offered 5/110 with some fake money attached.
  6. This post wins the interwebs. Nice Job. Keuchel/Ryu/Bumgarner are all more risky and will still be expensive.
  7. I try to be optimistic about this, but they keep disappointing me over and over again. I now expect nothing. Alex Wood and Pineda, move on...... I don't want anything to do with Keuchel and Ryu. On the fence with Bumgarner.
  8. That's going to happen no matter whether they dumpster dive or not. David Sampson's comments look fairly accurate at this point.
  9. It's not dramatic. They've proven time and time again they're too cheap to do business with FA. They have 4 prospects and a bunch of nothing in the minors. I'm convinced they have no interest in winning World Series. Jerry is channeling his inner Dollar Bill......
  10. I think we can all kiss any hope of winning anything goodbye. We can also kiss Moncada and Giolito goodbye after 2021, as they'll be traded and we'll just start the whole rebuild over again. This fucking sucks. Chicago sports is a barren wasteland right now. No hope anywhere.
  11. My guess is it's 5/110 and in order to pull it off, they would have had to go 6/130. I can't blame them for that. I really can't. Looking like 5/115
  12. My guess is that the Sox offered a similar deal and Wheeler wanted to stay on the East Coast. Not much they can do when location is a consideration, and you're undesirable.
  13. I think all else being equal, pitchers prefer the NL to the AL.
  14. If it wasn't for the gopher ball issue/PTGTRW shit, I'd prefer Bumgarner over Wheeler, mostly because of his left-handedness. Bum struck out 200 guys last year, so it looks like he still has it for the most part. If the ball is de-juiced and the HRs become flyouts, then what happens to Bumgarner's performance?
  15. Oh he's good, when he's healthy. Which rarely happens. He's been in MLB for 6 seasons and has pitched 160+ innings only twice.
  16. He's always fucking injured. Last year was his first healthy season in 3 years. He pitched around 100 innings in the previous two, IIRC.
  17. Idk why you even like Ryu. He's made of glass. I have no interest whatsoever in him. Especially when Boras is involved.
  18. Hes the Chairman of the Unwritten Rules club. Verlander is his Vice Chairman. I think it was him that flipped a lid when a player went back to the dugout and touched the mound.
  19. Get Darth Sidious the fuck out of this thread. This thread is for Jedi only. No Sith allowed. Only positive thinking until the ink is dry.
