  1. when its all said and done, the Bucs will look at the two games that they should have won versus Atlanta and they will know why they missed the playoffs.
  2. Anyone watch Strikeforce last night? Man, what a show. Hendo dropping bombs,Daley and Lawler knocking out their opponents. Great action. And I think it's time for Lindland to retire. He cant be getting KOed that badly at his age on a yearly basis.
  3. I would like to b**** slap whoever thought it would be a bright idea to have the USF-UCONN game be played just 20 hours before the Bucs game tomorrow. But I would love to see Miami try to talk with Randy Edsall about being their head coach.
  4. Georgia and Tennessee have put good teams in the SEC title game. I think the SEC East will bounce back in 2011. Florida might be better. I think UGA has a chance to be really good. South Carolina has a chance to improve. Dont know enough about Tennessee but I would think they could improve but not enough to win the East.
  5. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) People love to cheer for the underdog. I won't watch the championship unless TCU is involved. I just find it boring and an inferior product to the NFL. I understand the underdog aspect of it. I was cheering when Boise beat OU back in that Fiesta Bowl. If Oregon and Auburn played next week for the title, I think it would be an amazing offensive game. Problem is that it will be play 5 weeks from now and both offenses could start out slow for not being in sync.
  6. Big comeback win for Miami today. Down 54-41 with 12 minutes to play vs West Virginia and we win 79-76. Big week for our team with wins over Ole Miss and West Virginia.
  7. I dont get the TCU love either. What have they ever done in the past vs BCS teams? Sure they have won some games but each BCS team they've beaten finished with atleast 4 losses that year. The last two games vs Top 10 BCS opponents, TCU have lost by 25 and 21.
  8. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) Very nice win for UNC, but still can't shoot at all. very nice win for UNC. Might be able to get on a run now. Also nice win for the conference RPI.
  9. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 4, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) Get it done South Carolina. Don't let that POS win. I hope Auburn wins just to keep TCU out of the title game. Then hopefully Oregon beats Auburn for the title and that can shut up SEC fans for a year.
  10. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 08:22 PM) He has definitely decommitted from Michigan. That said, until he is enrolled, I guarantee you Michigan won't stop recruiting him. In this case, I'd like our chances a lot better if he were not an early enrollee. If we had until Signing Day, I would feel more comfortable. And you are correct, that is a MAJOR blow. I wouldnt be surprised to see Hart sticking with Michigan once he feels Rich Rod will remain as HC. Dee Hart with 100 yards combined rushing and receiving at the half. Had a TD scores of 48 and 30 taken away from holds that had no outcome of the play.
  11. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 11:34 PM) Word has it Dee Hart is going to decommit from Michigan and switch to Alabama after tomorrow night's game. Michigan coaches will be at Dr. Phillips HS tomorrow, let's hope they can change his mind. The problem is he is an early enrollee and the Michigan AD has not committed either way to Rodriguez' status. Even if he stays, without an endorsement now, the early enrollees are understandably worried that a coaching change could happen right as they are entering school or worse, after. That would be a major blow. The kid is unreal. Went to the game last week and he had 6 TDs.
  12. I think only Australians thought they really had a chance. But I do agree that if the US wasnt to get it, Australia should have since it's more logical to try to build soccer up more there and in Qatar. What is Qatar going to do with all those new stadiums after 2022? I dont think many would argue that there were some back room dealings. But I think something we're overlooking is the money FIFA will make when it comes to building these new stadiums. The US already has everything built so there is no money to be made when bids begin for the contracts of these new stadiums. And FIFA basically told England to f***ing know your role. Two months ago it seemed like a sure thing that England would host 2018. The English press def. bit the hand that feeds the FA.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 09:04 PM) With relatively little hype, Marcus Jordan might be the most improved player in the country. UCF is playing extremely well, as they beat Florida tonight. Yeah he is. Looks pretty legit. Florida looks like they are in for another average season.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 1, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) Exactly. The problem was that the allegations were for wrong doing with Miss St. From all accounts Auburn had nothing to do with it. How can you penalize Auburn for something that Miss St was involved with? So we're suppose to believe that Newton's dad was shopping his son around but decided that he didnt want any money and send his son to Auburn? If he didnt want any money, you'd think he would have sent him to Miss St since Cam liked Mullen. I think this is a case of the NCAA just trying to end the speculation of a player headed into possibly the national title game. I'd be shocked if the NCAA isnt doing more investigating come this summer into Newton and Auburn.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 10:49 PM) The implication is that anyone in the big ten is vastly superior to anyone in the wac (hence why, despite actual statistical models proving otherwise, you keep saying how top big ten teams have such a tougher schedule to go through). And again, explain to me how illinois, minnesota, indiana, northwestern, purdue, etc are THAT much better than the WAC teams. GMAB. No one is claiming that the WAC is a better conference. The argument is that when a team plays 2-3 tough games against quality competition, and has a cupcake schedule the rest of the way, it's not THAT much different than a BCS type schedule. Well for starters, WAC teams not named Boise St went 2-8 vs the BCS this season. The wins were over 4-7 Cincy and 5-7 Cal. Hawaii who went 7-1 in the WAC has BCS losses by 13 to USC and 18 to Colorado. Minnesota also has an 11 point loss to USC but they also own a win over Iowa. That just goes to show you the bottom feeders of the Big 10 are capable of pulling off an upset against the top tier teams while WAC top tier teams best wins are against below average BCS teams. If the WAC wants respect then they need to start winning more than 20% of their games vs BCS opponents and start mixing in some upsets.
  16. Miami steamrolled Ole Miss for 20 minutes, building a 57-27 halftime lead. Lead got down to 79-70 when Miami went to sleep and Ole Miss went crazy with 4 minutes to play before we shut the door and won 86-73. Would have been nice to play a Big 10 team but playing a middle of the road SEC team that we will probably be battling with on the bubble come March is just as good.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 07:42 PM) For the record I'm a huge Big Ten fan (Illinois) but still don't understand why people think a team like Northwestern is better than a team like Boise simply because they lose to "better" teams in a better conference. I'm also not calling for Boise to get an automatic BCS bid. I'm saying they should be in the discussion. After the Nevada loss people basically are giving them a mediocre bowl bid, which is ridiculous IMO. Who said Northwestern is better than Boise? If that is what you've walked away with after all the discussion about this topic then it is really pointless to discuss this further. I'll try to make it brief since I dont have the energy to get into a long discussion right now. Boise plays in a conference where for 7 games they place a "C" game and win. If a team like Ohio St,Iowa,Wisconsin plays a "C" game vs an Illinois,Northwestern,Purdue then they probably lose. Boise plays in a conference where they dont have to worry about sleep walking for 3 quarters and then realize they are in a dogfight for the final 15 minutes. I remember a Miami game in 2002(season they lost to OSU) and Ken Dorsey was playing with a broken hand(non throwing) and they were at a 1-7 Rutgers team. The game was 17-14 Rutgers going into the 4th quarter. Miami won 42-17. Boise never has to worry about not showing up for a game and being in danger of losing to a bottom feeder in the WAC. That cant be said for top teams in major conferences.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) This is bulls*** BTW. Boise asks for money to play BCS schools, which is exactly what BCS schools DONT do. This is the reason nobody schedules them. OSU reached out to them for a home and home and they wanted a pay out richer than most MAC schools want. Thats not called trying to put together a strong non-con schedule, thats called treating your own team like a second tier program. And it keeps up the perception that Boise is the victim against BCS schools.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Not a good start for the Big 10. That was a game that looked to be a lock for Minny. I figured that was the biggest "lock" of the challenge.
  20. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 10:11 PM) Better be ready to back that up, because it looks like your Badgers are going to get TCU in the Rose Bowl! Should be an easy win for Wisconsin then since Colin Cowherd pointed out that TCU has lost 26 games in a row vs BCS teams that have finished in the top 50 of the RPI.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) Nevada has the # 4 offense in the nation. I'd say they're pretty good. Secondly, you are absolutely right about New Mexico State and Idaho on their schedule, and Boise pays for this by basically having to go undefeated to have any chance at a BCS bowl. No one is arguing that Boise deserves to be there with the one loss. Only that had they gone undefeated, they would have an argument. You do have to recognize that Boise tries to put together the strongest non-conference schedule possible, but most BCS schools will not schedule them. Third, what is Boise's record against BCS teams since 2005? Yeah it's a pretty good number. But that stat is so misleading since they play nobody worth a crap. Boise is suppose to be one of the best run defenses in the country and Nevada went right through them. And dont start with how BCS schools wont schedule them. Boise tries to bend over BCS schools with stupid crap and when the BCS schools tell Boise to take a hike, Boise plays the victim card. I found it funny when the Alabama's AD called out Boise earlier this year when he said Boise never called him for a game.
  22. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 09:59 PM) Who has Oregon beaten? They beat Stanford and Stanford has beaten no one relevant. They beat teams with players that will be in the NFL. Boise plays 8 games a season that produce little to no NFL players.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 09:32 PM) You dont know that, you have absolutely no proof how Boise would play in the same schedule as Iowa. When is the last time Iowa lost to a non-BCS team? You think Boise is the equivalent of a strong BCS program? Try and find the last time Iowa lost to a non-BCS program. There is a reason why teams like Michigan start the season 4-0, its because a major BCS conference is significantly more difficult down the line. Even the lowest program in your conference is likely to be in the top half, if not the best team in a non-BCS conference. Does anyone here really think that the Nevada offense is more dynamic than Michigan? I dont even like Michigan, but Ill take Denard Robinson every day of the week over Kaepernick (even if the guy and the rb set the most rushing yard record over the pony express). If you watch the games it just isnt even close, I wish Boise would have played Wisconsin because that would have been a great test. Unfortunately its going to be TCU, who now doesnt even count as a non-bcs team (its not coincidence that TCU announces joining the Big East the week before the final BCS announcement, where there was talk of them getting jumped if one of the top 2 lose). I dont think week in and week out Boise can stand with the top teams. I think theyd be a 500 team in the major conferences and we wouldnt be having this conversation. Iowa lost to Western Michigan in 2007. And I totally agree with your last comment about being a .500 team in a major conference. Did you see how dead Boise was at the end of the Nevada game? Teams over 8 conference games would wear them out. Sure they may pull off an upset but they could easily lose to a below average team because of the grind of the season. Boise has no clue on how hard it is to beat a 3-5 team that is sandwiched between two top 20 teams on the schedule.
