We'll see how long he stays once JoePa dies. Here's your new coach, Zen. I love "The Final Countdown" playing in the background around the 2:10 mark. lol, good stuff. Hopefully he is only similar to Ron Zook in the workout department. -
QUOTE (T R U @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 10:01 PM) it was a screw job vs Pitt but there is no excuse for losing to Cleveland and they gave the game away against the Patriots the first time.. Their OC is a dinosaur who is way past his time, once they get that fixed next season and get some people healthy then they will be where they need to.. As for now, they get Detroit and Buffalo at home and then a walk against a home field clinched Patriots depth squad.. its looking like 10-6 which ide be happy to have after the brutal schedule they faced the first half of the season.. Do you think Henne is the QB to lead the Dolphins into the future? I think they should entertain a trade to acquire Kolb.
-
QUOTE (T R U @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 09:37 PM) why is that LOL? Dolphins should be 8-5 and prolly 9-4 if they didn't crap their pants against Cleveland.. Im not as happy about that though as the Bears getting thoroughly raped, im so tired of hearing Bears fans thinking that they are any good.. Yeah, it sucks that the screw job vs Pittsburgh really killed the Phins playoff hopes. I like the Dolphins too and I hate making excuses but Miami really "lost" more games this year than being beat.

Bucs lose Gerald McCoy and Quincy Black to season ending injuries. That is 6 starters lost to season ending injuries. Going to be way tough to overcome all this for the league's youngest team.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 10:09 AM) I wonder how Muschamp will do. I wonder what Miami will do. I think they need to hit a homerun because the legend of Miami could end up being no more. They haven't really been relevant since their last National Championship game against an OSU team. In 2005, Miami was 8-1 and third in the BCS before losing to GT. It didnt matter anyways since USC and Texas went undefeated. Pretty excited about Golden being hired. Turned Temple around and he is a young, energetic coach with a blue collar mentality. that guy on the Jets sideline should be suspended for the rest of the season. What cheap shot.

wonder how many fans will leave the game during the half.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 12, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) They have plenty of time to move it to TCF Bank Stadium by next monday. The problem for a Monday night game there tomorrow is the field needs to be cleaned, new hash marks painted, and NFL goal posts installed. Not to mention the logistics of moving TV equipment from the Dome to TCF Bank. dont the pros and college use the same goal posts now?

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 09:44 PM) Rumor on a Pitt board that they have offered Rhoads the Pitt job and he has the weekend to decide. Really, really doubt it. Though, I suppose if thats the case, Holgorsen can come back to Iowa! Why would you doubt it? Miami fans have talked about Rhoads so I'm sure he is other the radar for other schools too. I'm surprised on Florida's decision to get Muschamp. Muschamp could be the next great thing but I would have thought UF would have taken their time more before signing an assistant as HC. But maybe UF had him really high on their list to start with. -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 9, 2010 -> 07:19 PM) Zen, are Miami fans thinking Edsal is going to be the new Miami coach, or is that just more BS rumors? It has been a very quiet week on the rumor mill since the Gruden talk/meeting. The latest is the job is Petersen's if he wants it. Starting to get the same steam as the Gruden rumors did among Miami fans last week. I think most Miami fans want Al Golden or Edsall. But I think Edsall will be the next coach at Miami. I dont know anyone or have sources but I dont think Edsall would pass the chance up. --Did you hear something more than just Miami and Edsall having a conversation? -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2010 -> 05:36 PM) Come on, you think an Ohio man would go to UM???? Well, except Bo of course... OSU fans actually think Urban will take over when the Vest retires. Well his name was thrown around a few years ago after Carr retired. How long do OSU fans think Tressel will stay coaching? -

Just watching the Gators this year, I could sense something about Meyer not returning for the 2011. There have been people on other boards I frequent that have stated since last spring that this would be it for him in 2010. And with that said, imagine those freshman that he brought in this past year. First he quits during the the recruiting season and comes back within 2 days. He flat out lied to those recruits to get them to comeback. I would be pissed if I was a player or parent who he lied to. -

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 02:34 PM) This is good and bad. If Florida hires Dan Mullen (like they should), then I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make at Florida. But at least Meyer is gone and I, for now, can have some sort of hope that Florida will hire a Ron Zook-like coach again, haha. Regardless, always good to get a 2-time National Championship coach out of the conference. Oh, and I can't imagine he'll come back like last year. I feel like if he was going to make a decision this time, he'll stick by it (so as to not pull a Brett Favre). Now if only some NFL team will throw a ton of money at Saban and get him out of here so he can prove he's not a flop at the sport's highest level (Saban has a big enough ego that it wouldn't surprise me to see him give the NFL another shot to prove he can do it). EDIT: I'm sure Bob Stoops is #1 on Florida's list, but please God, don't let him take that job. I doubt Bob Stoops takes the job at UF. There was more talent in the UF program after Zook got canned than there is now and Stoops still didnt go. This might slow the Miami coaching search down some. Miami has decent money right now to throw at a coach (dont always believe the media, Coker was getting paid 2.5M a season in the early 2000s and that was real good money back then. They went cheap with Shannon because the buyout for Coker was huge and they were still paying off the former basketball coach's buyout. That all has been cleared by now) but they dont have $4M per year money that Florida does. Mullen seems like the logical choice and he can get to the easier division of the SEC. Miss St will never pass Alabama or LSU. No one ever wants to follow a successful coach like Meyer so who knows. Plus we dont know the terms in which he left the UF program. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) I read that this morning. For some reason, Alabama didn't really want him. At least they didn't want to give him a shot at tailback and wanted him to be more of a slot, specialty type player. That I don't understand. Has to be a size thing since he is only 5'8-5'9. I guess Alabama wants the more traditional bigger back. Or maybe Alabama doesnt want to play the recruiting game with him so they decided to move on. Probably felt when it's all said and done he'll stick with Michigan. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 04:11 PM) Dee Hart didn't publicly decommit and commit to Alabama, but he's made it pretty clear that if Rodriguez is fired, he'll play elsewhere. Fortunately, the timeline is workable w/ Michigan likely playing in the Gator Bowl on Jan 1. As long as the decision is made before the US Army AA Game, he can enroll at Michigan the following week. The situation is tenuous at best and I'm sure a plan B will be ready. He may yet get tired of waiting and go ahead and pull the trigger to Bama (or someone else). Apparently, Bama turned up the heat when Isaiah Crowell named Georgia as his leader. Ultimately, I think Michigan has a chance at the US Army game, but its certainly not a comfortable situation for anyone. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Dee Hart said Alabama isnt in his plans and it's between Michigan and UF. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 06:50 PM) Wasn't Nickerson the MLB their for a long time with Brooks an OLB? I at least thought Brooks played Briggs position for most of his career. yeah and when Nickerson left, Shelton Quarles played MLB for Tampa next to Brooks.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 10:48 PM) That is one of my concerns. You hate to have a team that is so hot sitting for a few weeks. If Wisconsin was a finesse team like Oregon then I would be concerned. Sitting 5 weeks for a team like Oregon can make then fall out of sync. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 6, 2010 -> 10:25 PM) I doubt TCU runs over Wisconsin. They area great team and Wisconsin is the underdog, but Wisconsin has been pretty solid this whole season. Wisconsin being an underdog is amazing. I'm taking the Wisconsin ML and not looking back. -
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 07:55 PM) it's good action, but mostly one-sided match-ups on paper that turned out the way they should have. atleast it was entertaining though, unlike the s***fest TUF Finale.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 5, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) Labor Day games suck and I'm sure Zen will agree. It's not easy going from playing away from home on Monday night to a Saturday afternoon game. I know we have sucked the last how many seasons so take it with a grain of salt, but we always struggled on that second game. That doesn't make an excuse for them, but I'm glad to see other teams struggle with it like we did. Especially if your team loses. I know you guys struggled with Jax St last year after the Labor Day game and Miami went through the motions vs FAMU for a half in 2006 after losing to FSU on Labor Day.
