  1. a stop here and we might have something brewing
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) The great Paul Hewitt has his team down 36-16 on the road at the powerhouse that is Kennesaw State. I hate him. The ACC is only 4-2 against the mighty Atlantic Sun going into today. Our conference looks pretty weak this year.
  3. why cant Nike atleast make a halfway decent looking jersey? it cant be that hard...
  4. Only chance IMO of South Carolina winning is if they jump out early and make Auburn play from behind. Controlling the clock and having Garcia play well. But it seems like every time Garcia plays well, the next game he doesnt. A big thing in South Carolina's favor is that Auburn is playing Alabama the week before. The Super Bowl for that state. You know emotions will be high all week and you know this game is going to be a slugfest for 60 minutes.
  5. only fitting that Gus Johnson called the hail mary the play
  6. Jacksonville just won on a hail mary against Houston. Houston is a letdown every season.
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) What was Jay looking at there? He threw it into a sea of white jerseys. maybe he mistakenly thought the white he saw was the pants.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) Not sure where there's stats on this, but Maynard and Gould have to be the worst combo of punter/kicker in the NFL...right? Well the Bucs have used 3 punters this season and the team average is 39 yards per punt. I think that automatically makes us the worst combo in the league. I mean how hard is it to find a punter who can kick it 40 yards every time?
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) They probably just weren't up for the game since they lost their national title hopes last week. yawn... They suck and everyone knew it.
  10. Congrats on Utah for being the most overranked team in the history of the BCS. Getting rolled by Notre Dame as we speak.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 13, 2010 -> 03:18 PM) Wow, Wisconsin really ran that score up it seemed by the highlights. didnt Wisconsin pull some stunt vs Minnesota earlier this year?
  12. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 12, 2010 -> 08:48 PM) It's not necessarily true for a number of the low end at large teams, especially if they're in a stronger conference and/or have a good OOC schedule (which NU doesn't). For instance, Georgia Tech made it with a 7-9 ACC record last year and so did Maryland the year before that. For a Big Ten example, Michigan and Minnesota both made the field in 08/09 at 9-9 (interestingly, Penn State didn't at 10-8). GT only made the tournament last year because they made it to the finals of the ACC tourney and lost by only 4 to Duke. So really they went 10-10. GT, I'm sure fathom would agree, would never had sniffed a NCAA bid if it wasnt for that run.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 12:29 PM) Theres a report out of Dallas that Newton is about to be suspended by the NCAA. The game has been yanked off betting boards. So there must be something brewing to the point these boomakers want to wait and see what happens to Newton.
  14. Who is blaming Utah? Utah came to play that night and Alabama didnt want to be there so they got embarrassed and deservedly so. And it's not a SEC thing. It's a college thing and we see it all the time since we're dealing with 18-22 year olds. One week a team will win or lose a big game and then they sleep walk through their next game since they are playing a bottom feeder. Remember last year's Fiesta Bowl with TCU/Boise? Everyone was pissed about those two being matched up against each other. You cant tell me they wanted to be at that game playing each other instead of playing a BCS team. And we as fans get stuck watching a horrible game.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Agree. I can't wait for 24 hours of college basketbal next Tuesday with SIU playing at 9am. Miami at Memphis at midnight
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 10:58 AM) That OU team that year was a bad call away from having 1 loss that season and at least being mentioned in the National Championship picture. And that Alabama excuse is just garbage. Not to mention both TCU and Boise this year are better than Boise from 06 and Utah from a few years back. Garbage based on what? Alabama took a 4th quarter lead against the eventual national champs in the SEC title game before losing. Utah jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of that Sugar Bowl. You really think Alabama was excited to be there that night? The only thing Alabama was looking forward to in the weeks before the bowl game was the free gifts they were going to get.
  17. I hope Buffalo goes winless just so Dallas doesnt get the top pick. Who would have thought the Cowboys would be the crap team for Thanksgiving football? Atleast the Detroit-New England game should be entertaining.
  18. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) I didn't see him move anything. Really scary. Hope nothing catastrophic happened. I think the commentators said he was moving.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 7, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) Austin Collie's going to the hospital on a backboard. Appears to be moving his arms and legs. I thought it was a hard but legal hit at first. Then the angle from the endzone clearly shows 42 for Philly hitting his helmet to the back of Collie's head. Appeared to be more of an accident than head hunting but it has to be a penalty. Hopefully it's nothing long term.
  20. Every call went against the Bucs today. Freeman slides and gets hit high on opening drive. Flag is thrown for late hit and then picked up. Would have been inside the Atlanta 30. Bucs recover onside kick. Refs review and say kicker touched it at 39 yard line. Nothing I saw shows it def. did touch him before reaching the 40. Bucs get a PI and refs spots his flag around the 7 or 8. Somehow the ball is placed at the 11. Of course that cant be reviewed. Even with all that we should have scored on 4th and 1 from the 2. Just sucks when every 50/50 call goes against you and you lose by a score. After getting blown out by the only two legit playoff teams we've faced this year, it's nice to see us a yard from winning against one of the top 2 NFC teams.
  21. I wonder if the white splash will clash with the white three point line.
  22. This should end the Hawkins era at Colorado. Kansas down 45-17 scores 35 straight points in 11 minutes to take a 52-45 lead. Colorado then comes back in the final minute to get into the KU redzone before getting stopped. What a crazy day in football. 130+ points in Michigan, Duke-Viginia had 103 points scored and this game almost hit triple digits.
