  1. QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 09:22 PM) Don't forget, VT lost to James Madison who had loses to Deleware, New Hampshire, Villanova, UMass and Richmond. Simply saying VT is better because Iowa lost to a good Northwestern team (before Persa got hurt) and Minnesota (alright, they do suck but would beat James Madison IMHO) isn't really sound reasoning. Northwestern was getting better before Persa hurt his achilles. They easily could have beaten MSU and Penn State (giving up huge leads). VT benefited from a relatively easy schedule. Which would you rather face: #5 Wisconsin, #6 Ohio State, #8 Michigan State, Arizona and Penn State or #11 Boise State, #21 Florida State (who they play next week) and Miami? People overrate this James Madison loss. They lost 5 days after a huge emotional loss against Boise. We all know that if they played tomorrow VT would win big. VT got better as the season went on, Iowa played worse as the season progressed.
  2. Any ACC/Big 10 Predictions? Virginia at Minnesota Ohio State at Florida State North Carolina at Illinois Georgia Tech at Northwestern Iowa at Wake Forest Michigan at Clemson Michigan State at Duke Purdue at Virginia Tech Indiana at Boston College NC State at Wisconsin Maryland at Penn State I think this is going to be a boring event this year. The only toss up games I see are Duke/MSU, IU/BC and Purdue/VT. Only reason I took VT is because they are at home and it's never an easy place to play at. Same thinking for the IU-BC game. And that Iowa-Wake game might be the worst matchup in this event's history. Brutal.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 29, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) Not necessarily, OSU has had some trouble with teams that play good defense and can defend down low. If Ohio State can score 60 then they win.
  4. Steve Johnson, my new favorite player. StevieJohnson13 1. I PRAISE YOU 24/7!!!!!! AND THIS HOW YOU DO ME!!!!! YOU EXPECT ME TO LEARN FROM THIS??? HOW???!!! ILL NEVER FORGET THIS!! EVER!!! THX THO... his twitter
  5. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) As long as Leonard Hamilton is the coach, FSU will never amount to anything more than being a 1st/2nd round NCAA tournament team. Basically what he was at Miami. He won a Big East regular season title with Miami but still couldnt get more than 1 Sweet 16 appearance. But I would take Hamilton over Haith haha.
  6. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 07:37 PM) Gruden apparently to take over Miami. Not sure what to think about that. I'm sure they will be dominant in recruiting, but that isn't the issue in Miami. Miami fans are thinking the opposite. More worried about how well he would recruit. The coaching at Miami has been absolute crap since Butch left. Coker was there not to f*** things up and he still was able to screw up that 2002 team that lost to Ohio State. And the years after and through Shannon was even worse. Miami has always thrived off of coaches who used the team as a stepping stone to get into the pros. Howard did it, Jimmy,Erickson and Butch did too. The past 2 guys viewed Miami as their dream job and that failed. If Gruden comes and then bolts in 3 years then great. Odds are he would have done good things here to warrant getting NFL calls and the next coach can continue the cycle.
  7. Hard fought loss today. Two plays killed us. Broken coverage that allowed Heap to spring for a 65 yard TD catch. And a BS pass interference call on 3rd down that put the ball at our 15 and Baltimore scored the next play. Baltimore would have had to punt if the flag wasnt thrown. I dont want to talk like a "loser" but it was nice to see us hang with an top tier team this week. We've played 4 top teams and lost all 4 but we havent gotten blown out the past two times. We've got to turn the corner this year if we want to go to the playoffs. Got Atlanta,@Washington,Detroit,Seattle and @New Orleans the rest of the way. Got to find a way to win 10 games and while I think it's possible, it still probably wont be enough.
  8. Green Bay is poorly coached. They should have won.
  9. Some of the worst play calls I've witnessed in a long, long time by Green Bay. First and goal from the 4 and they dont even try to run. What a catch!
  10. This game is proof that GB wont do anything in the playoffs. They have zero ability to run the ball when they only need a yard.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 28, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) Mike McCarthy, can you make a few more huge blunders here in the first half? He is the reason GB is losing. 1st and goal from the 2 and he doesnt call one conventoinal run? And then the no challenge on 4th and 3.
  12. The Randy Shannon era is officially OVA!!!! Time to go after Petersen,Patterson or Gruden!
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 12:04 PM) Oh that is such bs. Look at Auburn. They are not deep at all! They just happen to have one of, if not the, most dynamic players in college football as their quarterback. How many losses do you think Auburn would have without Cam Newton as their quarterback? The same amount of losses as any other team in the country if they lost their starting QB. After reading about the depth, are you seriously only bringing up the QB situation?
  14. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 11:40 AM) I disagree. That Boise team would recruit much better players and be able to play with the big boys. It works both ways. The competition would get tougher, but since their coaching is really really good, they would also get enough recruits to be an even better team than they are now. Either way though, I hate Boise. I've been riding with TCU for so long. Let's hope South Carolina could pull something out. Yes, a different Boise team would have a deeper team. But this Boise team isnt deep so this Boise team couldnt last through a conference slate of games.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 11:24 AM) But I also find it difficult to claim from one loss that resulted from a blown chip-shot field goal on the road against a quality opponent, that it can be discerned how Boise St would fare in a power conference. The sampel size is simply too small. No its not. As I've said before, Boise was gassed in the 4th quarter and they were gassed against VT. You put that team in a conference where they'll have 6 tests in 7 weeks and we'll see a Boise team that will get worse as the season progresses.
  16. Holds more than enough weight IMO. Boise's defense got worn down again last night. Just like VT did in week 1, Nevada ran all over Boise as the game progressed. Finished with 270 yards on the ground. Imagine what Wisconsin,Ohio St,LSU,Auburn,Alabama,Arkansas, etc would do against that defense. Hell, even Louisiana Tech's RB finished with 150 yards. ESPN wants to tout Boise's great run defense. ESPN also likes to forget that Boise is usually so far ahead that teams dont run the ball. And the teams that do run are horrible football teams to begin with. Of course Boise will put up great defensive numbers.
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 09:56 AM) LSU lost to Auburn. I'm guessing he means all of Auburn wins would turn to losses. There is no way the NCAA would do that. If anything they would suspend Newton for the SEC title game and do an investigation on whether Auburn football program knew of the payday. The forfeit of wins would take place months down the road.
  18. Even funnier to see Boise players running onto the field after they thought they won. Watch the top left of screen.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 01:55 AM) And suddenly TCU is cursing Alabama...and pinning all their hopes on Oregon State in the Civil War... TCU better pray Newton gets suspended because that is their only chance.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 27, 2010 -> 01:38 AM) Nevada's defensive coordinator should kill himself as should their DBs. Most pathetic defensive play I have seen in my entire life. Boise is a 3 or 4 loss team minimum in the SEC. yup. and anyone who honestly believes Boise should/could compete for a national title should stop watching football. Boise would get rolled if they played the same schedule as Oregon or Auburn
