QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) It wasnt.. the only thing LeBron did wrong was not notify the Cavs that he had decided to play elsewhere.. ESPN was responsible for that whole hour long episode, all LeBron did was ask for a press conference.. No, it was actually Jim Gray's, James and his advisors idea for the show. Actually more of LBJ's people then Gray's for a tv show. From Jim Gray-- "I saw Maverick Carter and LeBron James at Game 2 of the NBA Finals and asked them if I could do the interview and it's taken its own course since then. Maverick liked the idea and thought it would be a good idea to make their announcement, to have it as a television show. And he took the ball and ran with it." link

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 01:30 AM) Miller signs with Heat I guess Miami is going to try to win every game 120-115.

QUOTE (RME JICO @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 12:23 AM) So a one hour special to tell the world you are going to Miami has nothing to do with ego? But it was for the kids

This Cleveland owner is making me a Cavs fan now.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:24 PM) A friend of mine was at his basketball camp about 18 years ago, and saw him bring back a woman...that was not his wife...to the dorms at the college everyone was staying at. Four of the kids ran up to get his autograph, and he told them to get the F out of his way. lol, those kids should have blackmailed him for an autograph.

I might need to take a break from the internet for the weekend. Since I'm a Hurricanes fan, I go to a Miami forum daily and some are going nuts. Already talking about breaking the 72-10 record.

I'm sure LBJ will hear some nice chants about West railing his mom next season when Miami visits Cleveland.

Over/under 30 games before the Miami coach resigns for "health reasons" and Riley names himself coach?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) Seriously. The NBA just died. LeBron James is running to Wade-County. I hope D-Wade has that shirt in XL. The NBA has been dying a slow death but this officially kills it. I dont have a favorite team and really dont care about the NBA but now I have a team to root against. And this might make me a Lakers fan since they are the only team that can f*** this up.

R-R But I can throw pretty well lefthanded too. It's a good way to win a dollar or drink from friends by making some stupid bet.

I've lost all interest in the ASG over the past couple of years. The last one I watched from beginning to end was the one in Pittsburgh because Ozzie managed it and I had some money of the AL. I'm sure I'll flip to it every so often but whatever. And the HR Derby is played out IMO too.

Spain hasnt been the most entertaining team this World Cup but some of that might be due to teams parking in their own zone against them. I really hope the Netherlands can win this thing. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 04:10 PM) He hasnt though, you are so over your limit that you had to sneak a player in on a track scholly which is valid until he plays his first game of football. I think he sticks in out in JUCO for a year then goes to the Canes. Edit: Just checked, 4+Anderson over the limit, but looking like 6 may be ineligible (how is that possible). So he may be able to play if he can somehow slip in. Anderson wont be suiting up for football this fall unless a DB that signed preps and it looks like one of them will. If that guy does make it to camp then Anderson wont take a football scholly until January. There will be a few signees that will prep this year because they wont have the grades. Happens all the time, sometimes they re-commit to the original team, sometimes they dont. Plus there is a kicker on scholarship that is about to become 3rd string and many dont expect him to come back. Only the coaches know that right now and the rest of us wont know until players report in August. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) I thought the same until today. Wade/Bosh makes the Heat the favorites now. The Cavs can't really compete. It's either Miami/NY. I'm sure Cleveland knows they cant bring no other free agents in and expect James to come back home. Maybe Boozer goes back to Cleveland?

I would have to believe that he will pick Cleveland tonight. To go through all this crap to announce his decision on tv, it would be a real slap in the face to his hometown if he chose another team. Him leaving Cleveland basically ruins that franchise and it would be easier to sign with another team without the adding more gas to this out of control FA fire.

Shannon has said that he will always keep a ship open for situations like this. Miami is also expecting some kids not to enroll come August from their recruiting class. So that will also help bring the number down to 85. It seems like every year Miami is over the 85 limit but somehow makes to 85 when camp rolls around. -

QUOTE (Felix @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) That's what happens when there are delays during stoppage time. I didnt see 2 minutes worth of delays though. Fun finish though. -
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 02:01 AM) "You've got to be...bleeping me. Mercy!" That sounded so horrible and rehearsed. He tries way too hard at times.

Ashley Cole is now in the news for sexting some model just hours before kickoffs at the World Cup. Between John Terry, Gerrard and now Cole, no wonder this team flamed out so easily. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2...15875-22380157/ -
QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 11:10 AM) It was only Brock's 6th MMA fight and that 1st round will probably be the best learning experience he also had, also, even though Randy Couture is not a submission specialist, you can see how working with Randy helped Brock use his wrestling to get a sub I dont know how much Couture had to do with the sub. Lesnar works with some very good submission wrestlers like Erick Paulson and he credited the arm triangle to Comprido in his post fight press conference. That is one impressive coaching staff Brock's got right there.
-
What a fight! Brock still looks scared on his feet and you saw tonight that he's never been hit. But once on the ground he really didnt take many shots. Carwin was throwing some bombs but Brock's arms are so big that he really does a good job in hiding behind them. Once Brock got to his feet, you could tell Carwin lost his chance to win. I think Brock needs to press the action from the start. His standup isnt good at all so why give the opposition a chance to strike first? I guess Lesnar will be the first person not named Fedor as the number 1 ranked fighter since March of 2003. But after seeing Carwin blow it and Lesnar really look bad for the first 4 minutes, I still think Fedor is the best heavyweight fighter in the world.

Wow, the Germans are steamrolling teams now. I'll be real pissed if Spain screws us out of a chance of to see a Germany-Spain semifinal. -
