  1. Australia has to win, they cant let New Zealand have a better World Cup showing!
  2. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 11:20 AM) Eh it was a pretty 50-50 game b/w Uruguay and Mexico pre-match. It was a tossup but the betting odds going in were funny. Mexico was like +275, Uruguay was like around +330 and the draw was -140.
  3. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 21, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) After getting eliminated by you guys 2 years ago, I feel relieved to get rid of UF. No way we win 3 in a row vs TCU and UCLA, but it'd be awesome. At least we won a game in Omaha this year (unlike last trip). It sure did get a little too close at the end. Either way, it's nice to see Florida go 0-2!
  4. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 11:55 AM) Yeah what the f*** was that. Lippi picked one of the worst possible squads. The fact that there are several Juventus players when they had a brutal season is a sign of a terribly selected squad. That said, I think most of MLS could beat New Zealand (they have a freaking USSL player on the squad!). lol, the Tampa Bay Rowdies dont even have a soccer stadium. They play their games at George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa. They play on infield dirt! haha, sad showing by Italy today.
  5. I guess I'll watch a CWS game since FSU and UF are playing each other. I really hope FSU beats Florida. You'd think by the way Gator fans run their mouth, this is a program who has been to the CWS more than 6 times in their program history(Which is pathetic when you figure that Miami and FSU have 20+ appearances each).
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 09:49 AM) So, the Marlins organization gave out Vuvuzuelas to their fans prior to last nights game against the Rays. Needless, to say it did not sit well with the players: “That was the worst handout or giveaway I’ve ever been a part of in baseball,” said Dan Uggla, who wore earplugs. “This isn’t soccer. I know the World Cup is going on but this is baseball.” http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/files/...lins_vuvuzelas/ It was only a matter of time before a pro team did this stunt. On ESPN it showed a few players and umpires using ear plugs.
  7. Just watched it and for some reason I wasnt impressed. It wasnt a bad show but I didnt find it that great either. Maybe because the events have been hammered to death so much over the years but 18 minutes in I was already looking at the clock to see how much longer it was. I did like the no interviews part.
  8. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 12:03 PM) Well I think we definitely deserved a point out of that one, much better performance. Have to beat Serbia 3-0 to qualify apparently, and I can't see that happening. I could b**** about the referee considering we probably could have had a penalty early on but I won't do that. Think his performance besides that incident was pretty good throughout. Australia played well today. Good luck on playing spoilers next week.
  9. Getting ugly across the pond. from the daily mirror in the UK: from the sun:
  10. Best possible result for us as now we own the tiebreaker over England.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) Deplorable It is amazing how bad of a call that was. It would be nice to one day get a break from the ref. Seems like the ball never bounces our way. Too much emotions today. I'm dead tired.
  12. wow, this ref has single handily ruined this game.
  13. Gasol should have won the MVP. Boston wins this series if Gasol wasnt on LA. But of course Kobe must win the MVP again.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) Because of Henry. And I told you guys France stunk. Henry or not, Ireland still had lost a leg in France and France sucks. Doesnt say much about Ireland. Even though a draw sends both Uruguay and Mexico through, if I was Mexico I'd still try to win the game, especially early, so I could avoid playing Argentina in the second round.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) France is just terrible. I feel sorry for Ireland and the Irish fans. How could Ireland not advance past this French team? It's going to be funny to see the meltdown by France over the next few days.
  16. Geographically Arkansas would fit but I have no idea why Arkansas would even entertain the idea of leaving the SEC for the Big 12.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 11:04 AM) Just saw the replay of the Nigerian red card. He definitely got his spike at the Greek's knee, but he barely even hit him and the two-second delayed reaction by the Greek player is absolutely classic. And easy red card because he tried to spike him but the reaction was so over the top. Another reason to root against Greece.
  18. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) And that's probably the end for South Africa, not like I didn't see it coming but I was hoping they'd somehow advance Yeah it is. I didnt think they would get another point after their opener. Kinda feel bad for their fans. Almost a must win for Mexico against the French tomorrow. France will get 3 points from South Africa. Mexico needs to get to 4 points before their group finale because I'm sure Uruguay will play for that tie. I hope Nigeria can pull it off and set up a huge match vs South Korea next week. I dont think Korea will have anything for Argentina. Should be a good day of soccer tomorrow.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 11:36 AM) Spain completely dominating this game too. If the Swiss hold on it would be one of the most outplayed wins in quite a while That's how the Swiss play. 5 straight WC games without giving up a goal.
  20. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 16, 2010 -> 11:27 AM) Spain in some trouble here. 1-0 down to the Swiss with 20 mins left. Xabi Alonso just hit the bar with a thunderous shot. That would have been the goal of the first group matches if that went in.
