  1. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) It's just a rumor floating around Rivals. I think it makes more sense to take 4: FSU, Miami, GT, Clemson. From everything I read, UGA wants GT no part of the SEC. I would think VT would do everything it could to be lumped in wherever Miami/FSU goes, if those two schools left.
  2. The fact that Kansas could end up in the Mountain West pretty much means this is only about football.
  3. Now the other shoe is about to drop. Colorado is leaving for the Pac-10 and the Texas and Oklahoma teams will follow. Four 16 team Super Conferences is now looking like a certainty. Big 10 adds Iowa St,Missouri,Notre Dame and Pitt SEC adds Kansas,Kansas St,Louisville, takes Clemson from ACC ACC adds West Virginia, South Florida, UCONN, Syracuse and Rutgers
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 10, 2010 -> 02:00 AM) USC hit with 2 year ban from bowl games. http://www.seattlepi.com/scorecard/cfootba...rticleID=282042 Going to be real interesting to see how the loss of schollie's will be divided up. In a few years, USC might be where Alabama was a few years back and where Miami was in the mid to late 90s.
  5. I thought Texas cant leave for the Big 10 unless the B10 takes TAMU and TT too? Or will the Big 10 take them as well?
  6. Was surprised to see him at this spot. Very exciting.
  7. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 7, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) The NCAA should be ashamed for the attendance at the UConn regional. Announced 2291 for UConns last game (people watching it online said it was closer to 600, but I can't confirm). That's pathetic, especially for a stadium that holds more than 6,000. The NCAA should have known this was coming with UConn have under 700 people at their last home game. Yet you still reward a two seed with a hosting bid? At the very least they should have had at least 3 of the teams within driving distance, not FSU and O traveling that far. The NCAA admitted that they choose UCONN in attempts to showcase college baseball to that area. That's really the only reason a northern team outside of the Pac-10 should ever host a regional. Problem is that when you do that, you usually cant find enough quality teams from the area to send to that regional. So a southern team will be forced to bite the bullet.
  8. I can sleep easier tonight knowing the Bucs have a higher rating than the Lions.
  9. It's over. Atleast the World Cup is starting because it would be hell to wait 3 months until football season begins. Atleast now I'll have only 2 months of sports hell.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:04 PM) No kidding, while leaving nothing on last night!! That's Gary Bettman for ya.
  11. QUOTE (Nokona @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 02:13 AM) Gomez has scored twice in 20 minutes. God damnit Bob get him out there. I think Herc's role is perfect as it is right now. Perfect sub to come in around the 70 minute mark if the score is tied or we're down by a goal.
  12. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 5, 2010 -> 01:12 PM) Wittles is 2-2 today. FIU leads by 1 and they need to win to keep their season going. sucks it will be put on hold til next season.
  13. Buddle looked very good while Findley came back to reality. Dont know why the Dempsey goal was taken away but Findley should have finished that ball prior. Findley really blew two easy chances. We should have scored atleast 4 goals today.
  14. And Rio is out for England. Hopefully we can come out unscathed against Australia tomorrow.
  15. Jozy sprains his ankle today. X-rays came back negative but he is listed day to day. Not good.
  16. I feel bad for Joyce after watching the replay of that inning. He didnt run off the field after the game like Joe West wouldve done. He stayed there and let the Tiger players scream at him.
  17. Even the Indians hitter was shocked by the way he grabbed the back of his head after being called safe.
  18. Anyone can be a fighter these days. I like how the article only claims him as a MMA fighter. I mean the guy has 1 fight in his "career" at some fairgrounds in Oregon for a promotion called Brass Knuckle. I guess being a MMA fighter or "ultimate fighter" is more sensational than "Janitor of 8 years...."
  19. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:08 AM) We just beat Denmark in South Africa 1-0. Think it's at the same ground where we'll be playing the US this w/e. Couple of observations; The pitch was very sandy, making it pretty hard to get a good passing game going. Hopefully this isn't an issue at all of the stadiums (I assume it won't be). The ball they'll be using at the World Cup swerves a lot especially at altitude. That said, it looked hard to actually get any height on it, especially at corners which all seemed to be very flat. Get used to having to put with loads and loads of horns being blasted in the background. Yeah, that was annoying last year during the Confederation's Cup. I'm sure it will be even more obnoxious this year.
  20. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 30, 2010 -> 04:29 AM) Probably. Howard's gonna have to play a blinder if the US want to get a point out of that game IMO. Possible though. We have the 3rd or 4th worst odds for winning our opening match for the entire tournament. Last I saw it was +600. I know getting of a point in that game is going to be hard enough but I still will throw 25 to win 150 on a US win.
  21. Well Mexico cut Jonathan Dos Santos and his dad says JDS will never play for Mexico again. Now the father is saying how Gio Dos Santos is heartbroken and doesnt know if he wants to play right now since his brother was cut. Seems like the father is stirring the pot at the worst possible time for Mexico. And Gio needs to grow a pair and get over it. I'm sure it's tough but you only get a handful of these opportunities if youre lucky in your career.
  22. Surprised to see GT get the final national seed spot. UCLA looks to be in the toughest regional. I think the Louisville regional is weak, just 2 teams have a legit shot at winning that. Florida got some tough teams too. Oregon St is no slouch and FAU is capable of winning that regional too IMO. Bethune is always tough for a game. I like Miami's chances to win their regional. And FSU should advance even if its on the road. UCONN may be real good but perception is that FSU shouldnt be losing to northern schools like UCONN. I think Miami got the easiest regional of the Florida schools followed by FSU and then Florida.
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 30, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) Rowand saved a homer though, shortly after that. Ok but how does that diminish anything from Sanchez? I know you havent forgotten about Wise. Yes it wasnt a perfect game because of something Sanchez couldnt control but Sanchez did have 5 more K's and he did it in 6 less pitches than MB. That's pretty dominant right there.
  24. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 31, 2010 -> 02:21 AM) Lots of drinking last night + hangover + work all day today = not getting on to posting. At least for me though. I thought the main event was just bleh. I can handle that my favorite fighter didn't implement his gameplan like he should of, but it seems that he went to the GSP school of thought to win this fight. Except GSP attempts to finish every now & then it seems. Let's see Rashad try that against Shogun's muay thai & underrated BJJ game. I'd like to think that Forrest/Rampage II would be a nice fight on deck. Bisping's a gatekeeper, if Belcher wants a co-main event fight...I say you make that fight next. Miller's gotta improve his stand up a bit if he wants to make moves at 185. I was clowning Russow the entire fight...unti he knocked out Duffee. Luckily for Duffee, he's young enough to where this loss doesn't hurt him a whole lot. Brilz didn't get robbed, but he won. Judges shouldn't be afraid to rule a 10-10 round, because that 1st round could of deserved that score. I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to Sanchez/Hathaway or the spike prelims due to the Hawks game being on at the same time & most of the TVs had that on. But from what I saw... Hathaway could develop into something pretty good & Dan Lauzon will probably be out of a job. So you had Brilz winning the first two rounds then? I'd like to see more 10-10 rounds in cases like this. This fight would have been a draw and I think I could live with that. I think Brilz "lost" the fight in the final 15 seconds of the second when Nog was out of it and Brilz just let the clock run out. If Brilz goes after Nog and gets a knock down or a takedown with a few seconds of GnP, he might have gotten a 10-8 round. This is one of the big problems in judging fights by rounds instead of the overall fight like PRIDE would do. A fighter could do just enough to win the first 2 rounds and then get blasted in the 3rd and at worst get a draw decision if 2 judges make it a 10-8 round. And since 10-8 rounds are rare, chances are the fighter skating by the first 2 rounds will win.
