  1. QUOTE(samclemens @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 12:10 AM) just to remind everyone, yes, this case is complete b.s. http://www.newsobserver.com/1185/story/448437.html Really..ya just figured that out..and who was really pushing this non-news story? All your MSM along with countless other non-news stories. How local issues become National news in beyond me. Seems to be a way for them "MSM" to not do their jobs of investigative reporting. I am certain many of you could give an example of a real National news issue that was only skimmed then never heard of again while theses types of BS stories run for months and months. The MSM create this crap and pump it out 24/7. These boys will never be looked at the same again and it is ALL the MSM fault!
  2. QUOTE(samclemens @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 09:05 AM) shouldnt iggyD be jumping on here with a youtube link to a video made by an east coast college freshman? Here ya go..its not from an east coast college freshman, but from some Computer Security type page. All ya need to know about hacking the Vote
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) Well, Bush is almost down to 2 years left in office...might as well have something for him to do once he's out. BAM...........lol
  4. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) When it becomes the stated policy of our forces to target innocent people...... When it becomes the stated policy of our nation to wipe out a nation because of their religon ( think Iran vs Isreal ).......... When it becomes our stated policy to indiscriminantely bomb civillian buildings.............. When it becomes our Standard Operating Procedure to kidnap people and mutilate them on television for all to see........ ..........THEN we have stooped to their level. Until then, all this whining and complaining about terrorist s***bags getting roughed up during interrogation is just that. When it becomes Stated policy of our forces have target innocent people......its called acceptable collateral damage. Stated policy of our nation to attack a sovereign nation without cause “Preemptive for any reason” (per Official 911 Report there was no connection to 911).......... Stated policy to indiscriminately bomb civilian buildings.............. That was all done in the early days of the so-called Liberation of Iraq by taking out electric, water and other needs for the civilian population to survive. Protocol 1 Additional to the Geneva Conventions, 1977 PART IV: CIVILIAN POPULATION Section 1: General Protection Against Effects of Hostilities Chapter I: Basic Rule and Field of Application Article 48: Basic Rule In order to ensure respect for and protection of the civilian population and civilian objects, the Parties to the conflict shall at all times distinguish between the civilian population and combatants and between civilian objects and military objectives and accordingly shall direct their operations only against military objectives. When it becomes our Standard Operating Procedure to kidnap people and mutilate them on television for all to see........Are you saying if it is not shown on television it is ok?
  5. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 07:20 PM) How many times guys? How many times are you people going to apply rights to a bunch of terrorists who don’t deserve them? The Geneva Convention DOES NOT APPLY to terrorists. Terrorists don’t win when we mistreat them. Terrorists win when people like you guys lose your will to deal with them. Does America stand for human rights or not? Do we now roll back the years to the Middle Ages? If American Society is to progress forward to a day that wars are not need and people can talk to resolve differences we must make a stand and be above the fray. Most of the terrorism today is because of the repression of liberties/freedoms. Where are the leaders/thinkers of today that can resolve issues without death and destruction? When we become like those we fight against we "Americans" have already lost.
  6. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 07:23 AM) Practically? His ass shouldn't go out in a lightning storm - he'd become flambe Iggy. It's pretty f***ing cool to go out and link every single wacko leftist blog site and call it reality, isn't it, though? lol...if I could get struck by lightning, maybe I can win the lottery too... Hmmm...new nick "Flambe Iggy"...should I get a cape?
  7. This video is proof positive and shows how easy it is to hack the new voting machines. Voter Gate The Movie Site video is from Tin Hats..I do not think so....
  8. Are these really Hot-button issues or are they only to devert the public attention away from real matters that have not been addressed in 6 years of control by the Congress and the Administration? Of course I feel they are only a diversion for real problems that are being ignored. Like the deficit, ending this war and bring home our boys, raising minimum wages, election reform, are only a few of my concerns.
  9. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) The reason they would do this is because its time to change the dialogue of our elections. American elections shouldn't be about the few small parts of Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvnia, etc. that are swing areas. Its about the entire country.... People in California, Texas, New York, etc. are disporportionately ignored both during the election cycle and in the way their votes are cast. I think the electoral college system is a stupid way to elect a president. Given recent historical standards, a 55-45% win in the popular vote is a landslide for presidential elections... But under the electoral college, the loser could takes office. Its dumb, the incumbent has a weak mandate, and it shifts the national focus from who the majority think should be president to who the majority of people in 7 counties in ohio think should be president. I hope other states adopt this rule also... enough to drastically change the discourse and tenor of our election cycles. I AGREE 100%
  10. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) If by "discussion" you mean ignoring everything that was said and ranting, good job. Two people responded on-topic, and you go off on some half-ass diatribe totally unrelated to their posts. Why don't you just title every thread "Iggy wants to be loud again"? As for the rest -- that is by far the most idiotic summary of my politics that has ever been offered. How you reached that conclusion baffles me. I think, instead of using that cross-streets, I could just ask around to find the asylum. I do, however, apologize for the "hippie" comment, to hippies everywhere. After giving it some more thought, you strike me as more the unabomber type. Again I say. I did not know there were rules that a post must remain on topic. Per this catagory " The Filibuster" Is that not what I am doing? So far you have nothing to debate, discuss or add to the rant/rave. I do not see name calling or critique the person posting in the description!!
  11. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 12:48 PM) Geez...I don't know if you're really this nuts or if you're just a parody. You don't even stick to the topic in YOUR OWN DAMN THREAD. You go off on wild conspiracy theories that have jack-s*** to do with libraries, etc. How you can write "The Republican vote-counting corporations that massaged the numbers in previous elections and disenfranchised people around this Nation are still in business. Their only reason for being is to keep the Neo- Conservatives in power" and not break down laughing, I don't know. When you outdo Miller's spoof of anarchists, I have to wonder. I suggest you read "Was the 2004 Election Stolen? in Rolling Stone Magazine". I don't find it very funny or a theory when a Political Party subverts the Constitution and Voting LAWS. It happened. Face it, your party has been hijacked. Oh, I did not know it was a rule that a person must stick to the topic. I guess YOU only formulate discussion and do not change the topic by trying to berate a person....HUH
  12. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) Lololololololol...etc. The ONLY thing that related your adorable little tirade to those posts was a tangential relationship to the executive branch. Replying, BULLs***. You're looking for any excuse to spew the same stuff that matches every satire of liberals in the Bush years. You're straight outta South Park. YAS expanded it to the phone records debate, but only as a contrast to the original post. Balta referred to nothing BUT the library issue. Clearly, that gave you carte blanche to discuss the whole record of the Bush administration in sweeping generalizations. Now, as for "dense" -- look in the f***ing mirror. Or the lake by your hippie pseudo-kibbutz, since mirrors are often produced by corporations. If this isn't some neocon parody of liberals, that is. You know, it's pretty rare for me to disagree with Dems nowadays, but you are the faroutiest nutjob that's visited this place in....forever. Some of the most liberal posters here have labelled you a whacko copy-and-paste job. Be sane or stfu. I do not know why I am even bothering to reply as you have nothing to add to a discussion. This is about thought and this s*** hole we now find ourselves currently deployed.... :finger As for being a Democrat, They lost me a long time ago. Neither party deserves ANY Dedication or support. I am sick of this " Lesser of 2 Evils" option. As for South Park, those programs were the only MSM that spoke and still Speaks the truth except for a few liberal shows that are only beginning to surface again now because of the up coming elections. Sounds like you are a right winger that cried with everyone else from the brainwashing Fox and this Neo-Con administration pumped into your head 24/7. Liberals or anyone with an once of compassion or real patriotism that speaks about what is really happening you give cute little names. Your mission is to try and degrade true thought without reasoning and discussion just like every other Neo-Con zombie. Hey, let me ask you. Where you will be working (Like a Good Little Neo-Con) this election season to help massage the voting numbers in November? As for copy and paste. That is done when I am trying to bring information to the forum for DISCUSSION! If you had even engaged me in discussion you would see my replies are not cut and paste. I do try to give links for reference of my thoughts about the findings in the media. BTW, not a hippie. I was rasied in the Back of the Yards. Wanna take a walk with me there someday? 48th & Throop.

  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) We don't need a third party to "help" govern, we need a third party "TO" govern. DING!
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 03:33 AM) Why resort to the tinfoil hat crap? That was an AP news story. Most of the centrists and left of center posters in here were livid about the phone records thing, when it's just a list of numbers calling numbers. Library records make it very easy to conclude they are interested in who is reading what. That doesn't raise a red flag in your eyes? QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:54 AM) I actually don't mind the government having the power to look at library records, I just want them to have to go before a judge to do it, and allow Congress to know when and how the power is being used (so that if any administration abuses that authority, Congress will have the ability to take it away). As I understand it, very little of that has happened thus far, which is the one thing that disappoints me. It'd be a dynamite law enforcement tool though, if handled the right way. I agree with you both It seems to me, when a person does not have a point of view on an issue, regardless of where it was reported, they resort to name-calling. Maybe, it is because they cannot connect the Dots. All this stuff is spinning out of control. People can call me what ever they want. We are losing our rights by the day; our only form of power against the executive branch is being attacked. Laws by the religious radical right (a minority) are being passed that are racist, anti-American and in my opinion non-Christian. Elections have and will continue to be tampered and fixed to support that radical right. Regular Conservative Republicans are jumping ship, but it may be too late as the radical right (Who have commandeered the party) are in areas of control in many states. The Republican vote-counting corporations that massaged the numbers in previous elections and disenfranchised people around this Nation are still in business. Their only reason for being is to keep the Neo- Conservatives in power. Good Republican and Democratic governors have no choice now but to raise taxes to offset the lack of funds coming from the Federal side, for schools, police, and other services because that money has gone to the top 1%, heck the money is so tight now they even cut money for National Security. Whoever is president for the next 12 years will have to raise taxes to balance the budget after this last 8 years of increased Government and Military. IMAO, we will be lucky to get to the next presidential election before a depression happens. I have a question for some of you thinkers, what is going on here? First we have Bush giving intelligence czar John Negroponte the authority to exempt businesses from reporting requirements to the SEC in the interest of national security. Then on the other hand we have a cease-and-desist order against Los Angeles brokerage firm Crowell, Weedon, in its first action under the USA Patriot Act. The law was enacted in 2001 to crack down on money laundering. Does that make any sense? On the one hand if you do the (dirty?) deeds of the Administration “ For National Security”, they get paid with our tax dollar, they do not have to report it to share holders or even keep valid records which allows a company to do other things outside of the initially paid function from the administration such as money laundering. Now, on the other hand you do not do business with this administration, you are then taken to task under the Patriot Act to crack down on money laundering. Huh? And through all this, not one media outlet has done a full in-depth analysis in a time line fashion for the non-thinking, non-reading public who are addicted to that boob tube. Madness BTW...I NEED A SOX WIN!!!
  16. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) Ah, ah, We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow. The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands, To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming! On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore. Ah, ah, We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow. How soft your fields so green, can whisper tales of gore, Of how we calmed the tides of war. We are your overlords. On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore. So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins, For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing. ahhhhh..you wanna send them back in a Zeppelin?
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) First time I read that headline, I thought it said Delay. Whoops. Here's what y'all need to do. Find out a time when the Mayor is going to be driving the Skyway. Like 10 minutes beforehand, bulldoze a giant X into the middle of the road. that would only be fair...LMAO
  18. cheers..I guess I sould look at the date before naming the the thread NEW...oooops

    What???

Here is a little reminder for Mr. Bush of his mistakes...click here...good job by this guy...IMHO
  22. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 30, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) So what do you propose? And I don't want to see some cut and paste whacko job, either. What do YOU propose that we do in our current form of election politics and the cycles that have formed around them? Ok...IMHO...the only thing we can do is bring in a party (outside of the 2 we now have) that has our values and/or at least the ones that will not hurt us, will bring back Constitutional Law/Rule. I suggest everyone must look at alternative parties. I have found one that supports most (90%) of my beliefs for this. At the same time we must push for publicly funded elections at all levels of government. This will actually be cheaper in the end as the money will not go to special interest and pork. It will keep our elected officials working for us and not trying to do dirty deeds, you wash my back I’ll wash yours type of things to get campaign money. What that will do is shake up the 2 party systems and tell them WE will not allow this. You will then see all who say they are there for the people actually mean it and make change for us and not the world or corporations. We support this world. Yet, the entire world hates us, dogs us at every turn. Now imagine, no more aid for their military, or other causes. I am not talking humanitarian aid, even though we really do not give as much from the Government as we do as citizens. We as a people have the biggest hearts in the entire world and give billions every year. Lets take care of home for a few years and see how the world reacts. Yes, finding a party that has all your values will be tough, however, it must be done for the good as a whole for at least 1 term in the federal election. If people from both parties did this...WOAH...Then both parties would be what we always wanted, keep their promises and be "FOR THE PEOPLE".
  23. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ May 29, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) So do you also have a problem with 'dynasties' like Clinton v2.0? Or is it just with Bushies? Good question Evil..thanks. I assume you mean Hillary...no thanks I am against ANY President/Administration that usurps the Constitution and the separation of powers. I am against any Congressional House that allows these powers to be merged into one branch. All these things done by Congress and the President after 9-11 are in violation of the Constitution and us Americans. By taking away our 1st and 4th amendment rights (without an amendment to the constitution) does nothing to stop terrorism, and is an attack on our way of life, our values, and us We The People. Even if this was not the intention of this administration, it leaves the door open for tragic abuse in the future by any nut job that may be elected. Where do these un-questioning powers end for a President? The sole purpose for our government is to do OUR bidding, we have been losing our control to the politicians and corporate special interests for decades, but within the last 12/16 years it has rapidly attacked our control/rights of self-governing. So, when do we start to be concerned? At this time we already do not have any right to protest near the president. Why? I understand it does not look good for photo-ops, but too bad so sad. Do a better job and those things would not happen. When only supporters are allowed into a public area and protesters are sometimes kept 10 miles away, where are our rights now to voice? That is no more than control/suppression of our right to assembly and redress. Too many people have fallen into this; “our Government” can do no wrong mentality. I said it before (All Parties Apply) power corrupts and Absolute power corrupts Absolutely. It is for us to take back this power to end the corruption that has run amuck (both sides again). I know many feel that is an attack on them because they support one or the other. They must stand back and think like our founding fathers and what is best for this nation of citizens and not the party. A political parties top agenda is survival, not the good of the people. Our founding fathers constructed this system, which is the only one of its type in the world for good reason. They knew having come from a democratic system that had Absolute power and what it did to them. We are now seeing a reverse of what they put in place to protect us as the owners of this Country.
  24. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 29, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) So why did you join December 11, and just now start posting? I have a few posts in the Sox area, but mostly lerk around and read.....Most of my Sox dialogue is in WSI...I must say I do like the layout of this forum more. I had never seen this area until recently
