  1. I took it as a joke when people asked if he was drinking. Perhaps he was. Thigpen was my first fave Sox player, so I'm a little sensitive.
  2. I wish Thigpen well. He's on a ventilator, people! Take it from someone who's been in critical condition. It's not a joking matter.
  3. Marte should get the next save situation. Then give Koch the damn ball. Let him pitch in our next 10-0 blowout. That would be tonight.
  4. Maggs did make the team last year. I see him and Buerhle, and Frank because who else is going to be DH?
  5. You can say what you want about Sosa, but 300 home runs in five years is incredible. I thought his shtick was fresh in '98, but now it's just tired. As for being a clubhouse leader, you can't really say much about either guy.
  6. I believe that Koch will have a decent season. It's not the games you blow (because every closer blows saves, even Rivera a couple of years ago), it's when you do it. We're facing a hot team at home, with a great chance to close in on the division lead, and this happens.
  7. Was there anything good about last night's game? Instead of getting Foulked we're getting Koch'd. At least this time the players were out in force to beat the crap out of that moron who jumped on the field.
  8. I'll say this much: I love the Sox a lot more than I hate the Cubs.
  9. Thanks, SoxFan1. Who are the Cubs?
  10. All I can say is I'm glad I picked him up in one of my fantasy baseball leagues. If you just compare him to guys in their second season, no one compares. And that's all you can do.
  11. I didn't see Schnur on the roster. Guess he's going to rookie ball again.
  12. Considering the way that the Tribune does business with the Cubs, this isn't a big surprise. They've started doing selective pricing for games in all sports now. For example, at Vanderbilt, where they always suck at football, in order for someone to buy tickets to the Tennessee game, they have to buy tickets to other, crappy games as well. In fact, when they played at the Colesium (home the Titans) last year, the tickets were more expensive than the regular prices for Titans' games. Note that the game was far from sold out, though.
  13. I know I was spoiled by Malone's quick move through the system two years ago. Some guys take time. They can't all be Buehrle. I'm a rookie like Matsui is a rookie! Too bad posts from other boards don't count.
  14. Let's hope that we're over .500 for good.
