Frank
It is too bad about Frank's decline. I was a huge Thigpen fan in the late 80s and it was devistating to see his quick fade after the 1990 season. This happens to most players, even the great ones. If he could only put up one more MVP-caliber season. . .

Marriotti
What part of Buerhle's contract wasn't fair? Wasn't it $25 million for five years? That has to be close to the top salary for a third-year player. Anyone who turns down a huge contract should look at Kenny Rogers (offered a two-year, 10 mil deal with Texas, turned it down and got $2 mil for one year in Minnesota).

Selig "upset"
The Marlins will probably hire someone else when the season's over. If you haven't noticed, their starting pitching is in shreds (shades of the 2001 White Sox).

Frank
You know, if inside strikes constantly get you out, it might be time to adjust. What do I know. I'm just a fan.
-
141 pitches for Wood
Look at all of those Marlins pitchers who consistently had high counts last year. It's a dangerous thing to do.
-
Steff and HSC
I don't see the team reacting to a KW firing with a 10-game winning streak.
-
Raffy Hits 500
He's at least in the viagra hall of fame. Cub fans: do you think Raffy has enough power now?
-
Moves made
At this point I see us dumping guys at the deadline. It's still two months away, but I find it hard to believe that this team has a turnaround in 'em.
-
Decades of Ignorance
Comparing the Sox and Cubs is sort of like asking what smells worse: a dead horse or a dead rat.
-
Danny Wright or Danny Wrong
Before the season I thought that Wright might have better numbers than Garland. He doesn't have to be that good to do it.
-
JOE COWLEY RIPS kw TO SHREDS!!!..PLAYERS TOO
So why haven't we fired him this week?
-
If anyone cares...
Yofu was sent to AA when Stewart was sent down. Either Wright was an injury exception on the roster or roster size just shrunk. Rex will know the rest. Yofu's intriguing.

Jose Canseco .....
If you can't field and you can't hit, you might not have a job in the major leagues. Just a thought. Canseco's life story would be an interesting read.

Sox Uni's
I don't like the black jerseys and I hate the vest look. If you're making millions, why can't you afford the whole darn jersey? I do like the green unis we wear on St. Pat's day. I try to keep one of the green hats in my collection. Does anyone here remember the alternate ones they wore in 2001? The tribute to the 1917 champion team? Those were sweet.

There is hope in Soxville
My not watching the game was key to their dominating victory. Here's to having another one this afternoon. Beware the getaway lineup. . .
-
Franky likey the 2 hole
I don't know if Frank batting second made the difference. We won, and looked good, so who cares?
-
Kris Honel
Weren't we talking about Honel? He's going to be pitching in Bham by the end of the year. Then we can get our master scout Rex Hudler to tell us if he's for real.
-
Am I the only one who finds it ironic that...
It's only good if Koch returns to being good. Look at all the closer injuries this year. It doesn't make sense to pay a guy big bucks to close.
-
Pickup of the Year!
After last year I think he decided to stay a SS.
-
Horrorfying Shots
Hire Valentine? Are you guys out of your minds?
-
OK HERES THE DOPE...........
KW haters. . . who do you want to replace him? I didn't think he should be fired until I heard about the lineup situation. Things will get worse before they get better.
-
Here ya go guys...
Firing the GM isn't going to help the team now. Maybe it will keep us from trading for broken-down closers (if that's really the case) in the future.
-
Which do you want more...
Win streak. JM gets this team to the playoffs, or he's gone at the end of the season. We have to play it out.

Some Perspective, Please
Perception comes dangerously close to being reality when people talk of the candy-coated Cubs. If you listen to the press, they've already raised the World Series banner. Choi looks like a pretty solid player so far.

yahoo picks up the rumor
I had no idea that things were going this badly. How long has Williams been our GM? Three years? However long, it hasn't been a smooth ride.
