  2. No interest in Hammonds. Very inconsistent and he's a human Hospital. No thanks, I'd go with Rowand over Hammonds
  3. Just hope he's another one of the Tradition of Good PuertoRican Catcher's who's gone through the Majors like.. Benito Santiago, Pudge Rodriguez, Benji Molina, Sandy(Before the Injuries), etc etc etc
  4. WHITESOX HISTORY 1955 Marty Marion's initial season as manager produced a 91-63 record that brought the WhiteSox close (Five Games) to a first place finish than any time in the previous 35 years but resulted in the fourth succesive third place finish. Minnie Minoso, key to the pennant chances, slumped during the first half of the season (hitting .254 with only 2 homers at the all star break) But surged in the second half to finish at .288 with 10 homers and 70 RBI's. George Kell's .312 average was third best in the league and Nelson Fox's .311 was fourth highest, contributing to a team batting average of .268 that led the league. Lefthander Billy Pierce (15-10) topped the league with his 1.97 ERA while Dick Donovan was 15-9, Virgil Trucks 13-8 and another southpaw Jack Harshman, 11-7. Kell's 91 RBI's led the team. Walt Dropo had a team high 19 homers and 79 RBI's

  9. It only took 2 hours to get that out of you. So your "list of s*** players that the Sox have acquired" stands at 3 people? That's a pretty short list, if I may say so -- or would that be "too high and mighty" of me? Here Sir God... Rick White Todd Ritchie David Wells Royce Clayton Jon Adkins Gary Glover Alan Embree Bill Pulsipher Jaime Navarro Anybody Else Ohhh High and Mighty

  15. just to see if his opinion means anything to me. If someone like Jimenez is on that list, his comments carry no weight. Nuff Said
  16. For one I don't really care if they mean any thing to you. Second I liked the Pickup of DJ. Third Rivera Sucks if he was sooo good he wouldn't have been Waived. Josh Paul and Rivera could be mentioned in the same Breath
  17. WhiteSox History 1954 Althrough they finished third again, the SOx had an outstanding season with both Minnie Minoso and Nelson Fox in the batting race and four pitchers in the top 11 in the league ERA rankings. Minoso (.320) finished second in hitting and Fox (.319) third with Minoso also hitting 19 homers and driving 116 runs. The final result was a 94-60 record, 17 games out. Paul Richards left to accept a general manager post in Baltimore and coach Marty Marion managed the team after Sept 14. Primarily responsible for the good showing were Virgil Trucks (19-12) , Sandy Consuegra (16-3), Jack Harshman (14-8) and Bob Keegan (16-9). Consuegra led the league in winning percentage (.842) and was second in ERA (2.69) while Trucks, Harshman and Keegan all finished in the top 11. Injuries again sidelined Ferris Fain as well as third baseman George Kell and utility man Cass Michales who was beaned in Philadelphia, suffering a Doble skull Fracture
  18. Not to sound like a naysayer, but Ring hasn't been as dominant as his numbers indicate. Don't get me wrong, he has been very, very good, but there have been a handful of instances where he has given up other pitcher's runs. Please let me reiterate that I am not bashing him, because he has been great. But his numbers look so unbelievable that one would think he has hardly been touched. He has been more human than his numbers show, but he still has been excellent. As a Birmingham fan, I'd love to see him stay here all year. Not sure that will happen though. The mark of a great releif pitcher is to get that first hitter out. Many relievers on the Sox have failed to do that this year. I think Ring has a great future though. Imagine him with Marte as the two lefties in the pen. Open some trade possibilties. Don't Count out Arnie
  19. Could be Morales is gone
  20. Isn't beltran like 5 or 6 years Younger
  21. He Does and he's from down here. So don't think i don't say that about my guys. Rivera was a Prospect a couple years a go and just sailed away. Another piece of s*** picked up by the Sox
