  1. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 06:21 PM) No blackout yet?? I still have ESPN. Same here. There has been times where WCIU games haven't been blacked out on ESPN. I'm not changing the channel, thats for sure. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 06:21 PM) No kidding. I don't remember the last time I saw the team use those. (I'm sure Kalapse has record of it.) It seems like they don't start wearing them until june.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 06:06 PM) The game hasn't started yet, the last time the Sox were on ESPN they didn't black it out until the first pitch. s***. Usually they black it out as soon as the broadcast starts for me. Since I dont get WCIU it shouldn't be blacked out in the first place, but thats a whole different story.
  3. ESPN not blacked out, yyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeessssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. The last BA mock I saw had Wieters falling to #18 because of Boras and bonus demands. It would be awesome if he could fall to us.
  5. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 12:20 PM) It's still a bad deal. Rowand is a free agent. The Sox aren't winning anything this year. I have no problem with Rowand coming back in '08, but if we're going to trade anything from our major league roster (or from the minors for that matter) it better improve the club long-term, not put a band-aid on where a tourniquet is needed. It would be nice to get rid of the $5 million we owe macdougal over the next three years.
  6. If all it costs us is cliff macdougal I wouldn't mind this.
  7. At least Desalvo sucks ass, even our s***ty offense can get to him.
  8. I don't know about Masset. I don't think he will be a very good starter. I thought he would eventually be a good reliever because he did great when he was moved to the pen last year. He has also lost over 5 mph off his fastball.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 10:53 AM) Fields would probably be hitting about .150, striking out 35-40% of the time, and not fielding nearly as well as Joe. He would do better than that, and at least he knows how to take a walk, unlike Crede. The problem is it's tough to trade Joe when his value is at a peak low.
  10. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 11:35 AM) It's because he's the best candidate in the organization at "long man." If not for the second game of the season against CLE and the Cubs' Sunday sweep avoider, he would be history too. The only solution is to flip-flop him with Gavin Floyd, Lance Broadway, Heath Phillips or Charles Haeger. Maybe it would work, maybe it wouldn't. He has definitely shown some flashes, though. I would much rather have Floyd or Broadway up here than Masset. I wish we had the 2006/mexican league Nick Masset.
  11. Knocked up was f***in hilarious. "She should have been Harry not Sally"
  12. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 04:48 AM) Didn't the Sox draft Brett Scarpetta once or twice recently? Brett is Cody's brother. He's at some small school in Texas right now.
  13. The only ones that I would keep up for sure are Thornton, Logan, and Day.
  14. I wouldn't mind seeing Broadway pitch out of the pen. That might be his future anyways.
  15. Didn't get to see the game today, and I guess I'm glad something got messed up with the DVR and it didn't record. Did Danks deserve to be pulled so early, how many pitches did he throw? Granted, if he leaves him in another inning the pen would have blown it in the 7th.
  16. With his stuff declining and possible injury, not to mention he would be coming to the AL from AAAA, there is no way I would sign him. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 01:52 PM) I'd be careful about signing Santana to a huge long-term deal also. His velocity is down significantly as well this year, and he is really accumulating a ton of pitches over the last 5 years. I might be wrong, but I remember Santana's velocity being a lot higher than when we faced him Monday. I figured he may have been going through a dead arm period.
  17. When did the White Sox sign Mike Mussina?
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 05:14 PM) You're definitely spot on. People are pointing to the early years as a fault of Kenny's, but don't look at the vast improvements he has made as GM -- really, that's what's I liked seeing. The farm system is a big problem in the organization right now, and that falls firmly on Kenny's shoulders. However, he has vowed to change -- this week's draft will be a big hint on whether he's serious about those changes. In the end a lot of it comes down to who develops players and who doesn't. The Indians, Twins, and Tigers have been developing players while the Sox haven't
  19. QUOTE(Drew @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 04:56 PM) If Tampa would take Dye for Crawford, that's a slam dunk. But last I heard, Tampa wants MLB-ready arms locked up under cheap contracts, so that one's not even worth talking about. Crawford will be a huge impact player for the next decade as long as he stays healthy, but Tampa has a history of getting teams to overpay in trades. Dye for Chone Figgins and Scot Shields, yes--but those are the two players that everyone wants from Anaheim, so I don't know if Dye could bring both of them back. Tampa would be retards if the traded Crawford for Dye.
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 04:54 PM) Actually yes I was saying sell high this winter, as were a lot of others. As for Detroit and Cleveland being better, that goes back to how they got better, they draft really well, and we don't. That is on the guy that runs the organization, Mr. Williams (although Wilder should have been canned a few years ago now). The only thing I can say about avoiding this year is, if you sell high with Crede and get what you should have for Garcia, then maybe you'd have some more arms for the pen and/or outfield help. I was all for trading Crede or Dye in the offseason. Although I didn't want Figgins. Let's just hope Crede can improve his numbers somewhat and we can get something for him. Same goes for JD.
  21. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 04:32 PM) What was Blair ranked? Just curious and thanks for the info. #188 BA comes out with their top Illinois prospects next week.
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 04:30 PM) And we'd have had Erstad for years as Garland lit it up in Anaheim. I like to refer to the saying "sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make." I wanna say that deal was done and the Angels ownership nixed it.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) Ahh it doesn't change how great 2005 was. I just remember why I hated Kenny from 2001-2004 now, because he sucks. Whenever fans of other teams would say the 2005 team was a fluke I defended them. Nothing to say anymore.
