I agree that our current system is full of crap public defenders and crooked individuals (see: why I have a disdain for police officers), but I have to say that people like timothy mcveigh deserve to be put out of their misery. I agree with the "crimes against the innocent" sentiment, and individuals that never learned that rape, murder, or abuse will never learn... keep 'em locked up.

With all the discussion surrounding the missing student and Christian's responsibility to forgive, what are people's thoughts on the current prison system? If anyone were to harm miss sox4life, I'd want blood at first. The man who most likely killed Dru, was a convicted sex offender. That blows my mind. I feel so much sorrow for that family. I'm definitely in favor of the death penalty, sometimes people just need to be removed from society permanently.... proper like.

I wonder who'll move to Sec of State.... I say get Bill Clinton to say yes and seal the election.

Cdub, I probably agree with you that Love trumps faith, I'm not sure yet. However, I can't get past the fact that Jesus trumps peter, paul, etc... (my new band name, ) John 14:6 "Jesus answered, " I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". I have a hard time believing that you can "Love your way into heaven". Ultimately, it comes down to believing and having faith in WHO Jesus said he was. So while I think our first commandment is to love our God wholeheartedly and then love each other...we must have faith in the purpose of our exhistence. 1 Corinthians 13:13 "and these three remain: faith, hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love."

I often found it funny how many people "found Jesus" in prison, until I realized that Jesus came to earth exactly for those kinds of people. The losers, the sinners, the outcasts, the fools, the sox4lifes, the southsiders, the cwsoxs, etc I suck, no doubt about it, but once I realized that, that is when He took over. Couldn't say it better than that....

I feel that way about "support letters". My old church back in PA recommended that we send out letters to the people we knew to help raise money for mission trips. It always felt impersonal and ackward. It's usually for a good cause though, so people are cool with sending money. It just feels like begging.

I don't know man. I'm not like SUPER into this (don't own a gun or anything) but spending 30 bucks like once a year is twice as fun as (hellboy, the alamo, etc) I saw a bunch of crap movies so far this year and for the same amount of money and time (if you play all day), you can have some fun stories. and TRUST ME...being sprayed with water isn't a tenth the level of scary as having semi-hard spheres flying past your head...(ask texsox) paintball can be fun if done the right way. we've done youth group events that the church subsidizes most of the cost and the kids end up only bringing a lunch and paying $10 bucks for the day. It's ALOT of fun to play "shoot the pastor". anyway, I know what you mean by the kids who spend too much money on it. I've seen people with like backpacks of co2 and automatic machine gun-like guns. LAME. to each his own.
