    The Office

watched this last night. (rented it from netflix) Hil-fuggin'-arious.... it was painful to watch at times, yeah? hahahahahaha...can't wait to watch it again. I wish there was more. It only had 6 episodes
  9. "Boys of Summer" Bryan Adams. I don't know why, I just like it....I love the cover of it too. I always thought it was about baseball though...haha, oh well.
  10. it's clear that I already am....
  11. thanks mr grudge I had "not" in there prior to posting, but I changed it cos I changed the sentance structure. you are correct. I think we've all got a bit of obstinacy in us, yeah?
  12. ob·sti·na·cy, n. pl. ob·sti·na·cies The state or quality of being stubborn or refractory. The act or an instance of being stubborn or refractory "JR's obstinacy to spend on a winning baseball team, will never lead us to a World Series win."
  13. I seem to have a knack for reading like 5 books at the same time. so i just rotate a chapter in each. I got to barnes and nobles every tuesday, thursday and saturday. I hate reading at home, cos I know I'll get bored and go do something mindless like Playstation f***ing 2. The case for Christ is on my list too, as is the Power Game. I just feel like undermatched in any conversation if I haven't at least been briefed on the topic at hand. I hate sitting there listening to people and have no idea what they're talking about.
  14. I was at barnes and nobles this week and I was looking up at this mural of pictures of famous authors with their names underneath. I recognized most of the names, could name a few books by about half the authors, and even knew what most of them looked like, twain, orwel, dickinson, etc. I realized that there are alot of amazing writers and amazing pieces of literature that I haven't ever picked up. So I'm on a quest to read some books. so far on my list, here's what I got, and please, add any that you think I should read. I'd love to discuss some of these eventually. note: some of these books aren't considered literary masterpieces, but I know will make me think....maybe even you. currently reading: Borg- The Heart of Christianity Steinbeck- Of Mice and Men Chapman- 5 Love Languages Kafka- The Metamorphosis Arterburn, et al- Every Man's Battle currently queued: Franken- Lies and the Liars who tell them Coulter- Treason Nabakov- Lolita Joyce- Ulysses Vonnegut- Slaughter House Five (considering I've read every other book by him, but his most popular one...) London- White Fang Melville- Moby Dick Piper-The Dangerous Duty of Delight Borg- Two Visions
  15. I'm headed out on Tuesday and I won't be back til the following week. I'm gonna work off a little of that angst I tend to have....Miss sox4life, here I come
  16. CONGRATS!! that's awesome dude. I'm stoked for you!
  17. what the hell does Ben Stein know, anyway?
  18. have at it man....drive impala drive! where do you get in though????
  19. is it quite rightly? or quite nicely?
  20. Apu, I don't disagree with much of that at all. I'd just argue that Pat Robertson saying anything negative about anyone should be the foundation of ANY arguement....the dude makes christianity look like a joke. (ashamedly, my parents donate to CBN...blech) Being a man of Justice trumps being man of mercy, imo. Tucker deserved to die, though I'm glad she made her peace with God. killing someone with a pick axe? I admit that I don't know a whole lot about the mental retardated murderer, but IIRC...didn't the stay that execution? I remember he was on Death row...but never executed. I could be wrong. I'm not a bush lover, like I used to be....and I'm not a clinton hater as I used to be. Clinton and Bush aren't dissimilar. different upbringings, but what billy lacked in connections, he had in brains, something that bush, well, we all know. The real issues here, sans rhetoric: death penalty legal or unethical? should politician personal lives matter? promising things that aren't kept post-election giving kick-backs to friends post-election changing policy post-election all but the first issue is universal and is a pressure on every politician. With the upcoming election, I just see no clear picture for our future from either side...I see no clear leader either. when was the last time we did??
  21. NOTE: I meant that in a sincere and hopefully debate enabling way. no color added. just so you know. ps....I'm waiting for APU's book he's currently writing me back
  22. actually, seeing that Clinton's years in the white house were next to nothing in significance and success, republicans DID win those years, because in the long run, we're seeing a flood people upset and disagreeing with extreme leftists. here's where I split sides with you apu. I love how during the monica scandel republicans were trashed for bringing up personal/private life of the president...but as soon as it's our guy who in power, it's ok. Your rant had nothing to do with policy and everything to do with personal things. let's stick to what's important. by the way, bush had a better SAT score than Rhoad scholar bill Bradley....just sayin' I think as a Christian, Bush needs to rethink his stances on issues...but universally in politics, everyone has agendas, everyone has skeletons to hide. You don't like the guy because of policies...so name the policies and b**** about that. otherwise it's not constructive at all.
