  1. couldn't he have hired someone to kill the manager for him? I mean, I'd do it for 3-4 mil...easy oh yeah, and
  2. Vince, (I'm gonna pull a steff) had you explained yourself from the beginning, I would have understood you better. however... I just think that's incorrect. We have a volunteer army and if we need better incentives for volunteers than great let's offer them. While I think a year of civil service would do wonders for my generation, it was our PARENTS generation that brought on this age of CHOICE. There is no choice with a draft, save the possibility of non-combative vs. combative. However, how many of the described do-nothing generation will actually choose the latter? I'm not interested in your respect, I just don't think you can force an individual to serve in the military, unless we face utter crisis, i.e. WWII. It's condescending to hear older generations talk about us as if they don't know where we got our general malaise about life. We've been handed everything and now that you see what a wonderful job you've done with us, you want to fix it by going against what most of your generation faught for....Choice. Truthfully, I think there are many among my generation that would answer the call willingly. Like I said before, I would. I have even told my friends that if they skipped the country in time of desperate need for men to serve, I'd make sure they never tried to come back. so in the end, vince, you are correct. We need a better sense of duty, country, and desire to do what's best for our country....Just don't be surprised with why we're not there right now.
  3. I didn't think they allowed dancer/customer interactions??? (can I hear an oooooooooh snap??)
  4. well, my point is that someone who will never have that "pleasure" of serving in our military via draft, shouldn't really offer an opinion one way or another. I'll go on record and say that I'd A)sign up and try to get into officer's school or B)enlist and try to get some kind of non-combative technical job. in case of a draft. but, how can someone who's never served and will never serve because of age, say that we should without a doubt have a draft?? it seems a little easy to say, when YOUR ass will never be shot at. something just doesn't add up here.
  5. "If people start selling stocks, the markets will go right back into the toilet." -but with the economic indicators on the positive side, wouldn't there be other buyers or domestic? aren't there always buyers? if not, does that mean a dip back into recession?
  6. we should always have a volunteer army, unless our country faces a dire situation in which the fate of our nation lay in balance. I just don't see a world war III scenario that doesn't include post nuclear war fallout, which means massive amounts of deaths occured and we'd need to fight for our lives anyway.
  7. without my education in that area, I would think that it's gotta balance out at some point. I would imagine that, barring any futher demostic terrorist attacks, the economy will go back to booming circa 97-98. I don't know much, I'm just interested in the discussion.
  8. I changed the name of this thread to be a positive reflection on the situation. well, since I helped fuel this crazy thread, I'm gonna help resolve it. I'm just gonna reply to certain things. First of all, I think the cheat has the right idea it's time to move on, but I also understand that while something is fresh in your mind, it's all you think about and it consumes you. I don't think you should listen to anyone about the changing yourself for the better. I think as you get older, you'll see that drinking isn't a bad thing, but there's a time and a place for it and it can be fun to be with friends and kick back. I respect you for just saying no to it, because it is a stupid destraction for high school kids. The no porn thing is the best idea. it's destructive and it steals your soul and creates improbable expectations of the woman you'll marry. Good luck with the no masturbating thing... it's tough. I think that you shouldn't let anyone take away from your experience. It obviously was a wake up call for you....it's cool that it came a your age, because mine didn't come until I was 21 or so. I would just sit back and relax and be happy you had this chance to see into your future. Yahtzee had the right idea that right now this situation wouldn't have worked out. I think he's also right that when you're older things are more plausible. I'm living proof. Are there other girls like that in pennsylvania? Have you seen Miss Sox4life? enough said. If I were you I'd apply to Penn State. as john stewart once said....."what's penn state? it's cow cow cow 40,000 hot chicks cow cow cow. THAT'S Penn state." it's a good time there. girls are like scout badges. some mean more than others, but you collect them along the way and they are at times painful, other times amazing, reminders of the past. Then one day you meet "the one" and burn those badges in a slow death and move on to what you've been looking for all along. that's all I've got. good luck willie.

  13. red rocks and s*** AP- In attempts to seek out life through out our galaxy, NASA scientists have discovered red rocks and a vast landscape of gravel. Dr. John Seizmore stated to a captivated audience that "all along we've been searching for life or the essential elements for life, but never in our wildest dreams did we think we'd uncover the grandest and most vast display of red rocks ever." In related news, several geological firms have put in bids for harvesting this "forest of rocks." Area landscaper, Chet Wilkins, was thrilled by this new discovery. "As if we didn't have enough choices for decorative rock design; s***, now they throw in this whole new color?!?." But some are not as excited by this use of public funds for recreational delight. "As if we didn't have enough f***ing rocks on our OWN planet? Our government goes out there and manages to spend billions of dollars to find out what my uncle richie could have told you over a drink at the local pub: "Mars? It's made of rocks...and it's f***in' red..."
