I saw a homemade sign on the way to work this morning that said "Democratic Picnic in the Park" August 4th, 2pm-5pm, Greensboro Park. I couldn't decide if this was a political sign letting local democrats know they were welcome to a picnic gathering of fellow democrats or if indeed on August 4th between 2pm and 5pm people would gather to vote on which table would go first in the buffet line, etc. I'd like to think a little of both. The answer would be the Rich people go first, btw. (they have to make sure they're well fed to help the "people" can make the right decisions for themselves.)

GO, RUN, DANCE your way to see "Hairspray"!!!!! A bunch of friends and me and the mrs went to see it at a drive-in last night (sub question, does anyone else have 2 drive-ins within 20 minutes of them? let alone 1?) We had a great time. The movie was terrific, the music was memorable, the plot was clear, the singing and dancing was awesome. John Travolta was the only weird part. I happened to meet the real Devine when filming the original John Waters film, and he(she) pulled off drag much more accurately (is that even the right word?). I hope the academy does this movie right. It was clean and fun and full of life. Best Picture, Best Song, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best adaptation.
