QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 8, 2007 -> 03:49 AM) Brandon McCarthy: 2-4; 7.96 ERA; 23 ER; 4 HR; 14 BB; 13 SO Freddie Garcia (and this is in the NL): 1-2; 5.33 ERA; 15 ER; 3 HR; 6 BB; 21 SO Maybe Kenny knew what he was doing? Would these guys have helped us any this year? PS: Not trying to flame anyone here; just an observation that those trades do not look that bad now do they?> I'd take Chris Stewart and his .222 Avg. over Molina as a back-up right now -
Charlie gets his 1st win

It's nice to see Casey's average going up

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 10:12 PM) People are talking about the cold being a factor? Do these people realize a team from TEXAS just kicked our butts? Yeah, the cold didn't bother Sammy or Kinsler Our offense (and I use that loosely) SUCKS Thome was the only guy in the line up batting over .235 ( he was at .294, .235 was Dye's average)

QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) I have a feeling the nice weather is gonna allow us to bring the lumber today. The nice weather is supose to be gone by game time

Brian Anderson and winter ball again...

Playing once a week and batting 3 times a game against some of the toughest lefties in the league isn't really doing Brain or the Sox any good. If the Sox are looking to move him, send him down to the Knights and let him get his ABs. If he does well, maybe his value moves up a little. I have to agree with Jimbo that Terrerro would do better in Ozzie's Platoon system. -
No Snow and No Power Outage BA goes 4-4 with 5 RBIs

I hope the Cubs loose the next 20 games. It would make for some very interesting Post-Game News Conferences with Sweet Lou

I think John Maine is going to have a big year with the offense the Mets have. At least I hope he does: He's on my fantasy Baseball team

This might be a little off topic, but Timo went yard today for the Mudhens Man that would sux if Detroit brought him up this season and he actually hurt us. Oh yeah, Fields is now 0-10

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) wow: But one column in Haeger's stat line looks out of place. Specifically, his homers allowed column, which looks like it was borrowed from another player. Specifically, Greg Maddux. Haeger has allowed just 19 home runs in 444 innings since he started throwing the knuckler. Over the last two years, he has allowed just 13 in 356 innings. That’s phenomenal for any pitching prospect, even the best pitching prospects in the minor leagues. While it’s a small sample size, the fact that Haeger faced 79 major league hitters last year and didn’t surrender a single homer—and just one double and one triple—is a good sign that his ability to keep the ball in the park may not be solely a single-deck phenomenon. By comparison, Felix Hernandez, one of the most impressive pitching prospects of our time, and an extreme groundball pitcher at that, surrendered 14 homers in 306 minor league innings. Haeger’s home run rate is on a par with that of King Felix; it’s better than Homer Bailey's (12 HR in 255 IP), or Matt Garza's (14 HR in 211 IP), or Francisco Liriano;s (32 HR in 484 IP). It’s not as good as Phil Hughes, who has given up a mere six bombs in 237 innings. His home run rate so far this season is 1 per inning He's given up 2 so far in 2 innings tonight.
