  1. No "D-Mat" either, plz. (Is it just me or are those nicknames obnoxious? in all seriousness.)
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 10:14 AM) I wonder if the LA Times ever referred to the possibility while Gagne was still a Dodger. Or, is this breaking news? I'm not sure if they did. Most newspapers don't publish rumors or allegations about their star athletes cheating unless someone quite credible is willing to publicly attach themselves, so I'd imagine that LA didn't. I mean -- I'm sure you know, YASNY, about how much Gagne meant to the Dodgers, so I don't think so, but I think that the diction of the article acknowledges that the rumors were always around: "he was always surrounded by whispers of suspicions." I've had my suspicions and I've heard it before plenty of times. I'm just saying that I believe he was on steroids and it has been whispered about in plenty of places before, and apparently the LATimes have, too.
  3. Gagne's been whispered about plenty. From the LA Times today:
  4. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=53327 Wow. Oh, and I clearly don't approve of the article. I think it's the stupidest thing I've heard since the Religious Right picked a fight with Bert and Ernie.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 04:02 PM) Morgan Ensberg was absolutely horrendous last season. He plays in a hitters paradise, and he was benched for a portion of the season. And his defense at 3rd base is pathetic. His throws often times resemble that of a bowler. He's a great guy....but was very crappy last year. Bad year. Not a bad player.
  6. f***, man, that should've been us.
  7. Ensberg had the worst year of his career at the plate and still killed Crede in OBP. As far as the overall package, I think Ensberg's more valuable than Crede. Good defense, fair hitting, good batting eye, decent power, healthy body. If Ensberg were non-tendered today, I'd love to have the Sox sign him and deal Crede for a good strong package.
  8. Crede is definitely overrated. Good player. Not God. Not better than Aramis Ramirez or even Morgan Ensberg.
  9. I try to be courteous to everyone who approaches me with something. I love talking to telemarketers.
  10. I always preferred Elway and Favre. Their Super Bowl was the first one I ever watched.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 10:57 AM) I would too. I met him when I was in college due to us being in the same Fraternity and he was nothing but a cool guy. Cool beans. I just never liked Marino.
  12. MLBTraderumors made the same joke that came to mind immediately for me, too. Ha!
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 07:30 AM) Definitely one of my favorite Sox players over the past years, Big Game Freddy is how I'll remember the guy. I think Fred got somewhat of a raw deal by some fans last season, as he pitched his ass off for us in 2005 and then also had to come back early for 2006 for the WBC. Nonetheless, I'll always root for Freddy and remember his game 4 masterpiece. Good luck in Philly Freddy and here's to a great 2007 campaign for you. re: the bold: I thought he got a raw deal for SoxTalk -- myself included -- but I was amazed by the reaction to him on his last homestart against the Mariners. If you recall, there were Freddy chants.
  14. PA: it's a no-go since it's coming out so soon. Sorry.
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) Eternal Darkness, is one heck of a mindtrip scary videogame. I dont want to let the cat out of the bag when it comes to your sanity meter going overboard, but I will warn you that some weird stuff starts happening. I own the game, and I love it. Really creepy storyline and the way it is presented is really cool. I definitely recommend that game. Mmhmm.
  16. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) I'm fairly sure he wasn't tied down and forced to completely quit heroin (though I'm sure if he was arrested, he was put into detox), nor was he forced to work his ass off to try and make a comeback in the MLB. I for one hope every recovering drug addict in the world succeeds and stays away from heroin/other drug for the rest of their life, and perhaps make something of themselves in the real world. Agreed.
  17. I'd bet that Selig would let Matsuzaka go to the Mets for negotiations if Boston offers a mediocre contract.
  18. 'Bout time Dallas got stopped. I was so tired of hearing about the Cowboys.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) Why? He made the choice to use heroin and screw his life up. I don't know his story, but I'm fairly sure he wasn't tied down and injected with heroin. Interesting point of view you've got there.
