  1. Amazing Job by thome, and the offense in general, nice heads up baserunning by alex, im glad to see that this team leads the league with both sac flys and home runs, we do everything right. I look forward to 3/5ths of our rotation turing in a better half after the ASG. GO SOX!
  2. that ball game is ova, and politte needs to be DFA or delt to the reds. Matt Thornton is real good!
  3. agreed hes spotting that fastball so well, i hope he can devlop that slider a bit more, maybe jenks can teach him his funky grip on how to throw a curveball
  4. Go Vazquez! this looks to be a game where our offense will feast, but watch Ortiz pitch a gem, lol.
  5. lol nuke i don't think Montero and the word keeper belong in the same sentence.
  6. what is it with the Drays and character probelms? they seem to go hand in hand. Josh Hamilton, Delmon Young & Elijah Dukes, its a shame.
  7. i was thinking the same thing, but then again, who would've wanted Javier Lopez, Jeff Bajenaru & Damaso Marte ?
  8. *mods, if this belongs in trade winds my bad* Who will be the next reliever turned into gold by KW? and who will we get in return?
  9. I think the cheat will be eating some crow at seasons end, but thats alright I still luvvvv his analysis of the sox. And this truly has to be one of Kennys shrewdest moves, Coop wanted Matt for a long time and when KW finally delivered him, Coop came through. I love it and I'm glad Coop got that contract extension, I'm sure alot of Ms fans will be pissed by seasons end when their former first round pick turns in a career year on the south side and Joe Borchard is soaking up sun down in Miami or in the CFL.
  10. How good do you think Matt Thornton will be at seasons end? Bobby Jenks is always the sexy topic title and i felt it deserving that Matt, who has been great with the sox and is only getting better deserved a new topic. As it stands now since were past the half way point the season Matt is briming with confidence and has been great. here are his stats thus far W L ERA G GS CG SHO SV SVO IP H R ER HR BB SO 2006 3 1 3.54 29 0 0 0 0 1 28.0 20 11 11 4 11 29 Career 4 7 4.51 103 1 0 0 0 2 117.2 104 59 59 19 78 116 '06 WHIP 1.11 Carrer WHIP 1.55
  11. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) Once Garland has a meh/terrible outing his next start, I expect that Jon bashing thread to be bumped by someone. The real question is... WHO? *raises hand*, lol seriously though, hes a maso menos pitcher. I realize hes only 27 but the guy has pitched over 1000 innings in his career to date, he reminds me alot of vazquez and vice versa. When they're on they're on but they don't always have alot of mental fortitude(or so it appears), im glad Big Jon is turning it around again. I'm looking for a good/great second half from him, vazquez and garcia. Those 3 haven't been pitching up to their potential and yet we've got a fantastic record. I will always be grateful for what Jon along with Politte did in '05 but that doesn't blind me.
  12. I know this came out back in March but im a big proponent of Neko Case's "Fox Confessor Brings the Flood"
  13. lol sorry for the "scary" fade flash. I understand where your coming from with the "proven otherwise", but im holding out some hope.
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) DLEE finally f***ing wakes up for my fantasy team. BTW, when the season started everyone raved about how great of a closer Dempter was, I said I didnt agree because his stuff isnt that impressive. But they continued to talk about his 1 blown save blah blah blah. 1-4 4.46 ERA lol Rock don't you know all the cubs fans boast about how they got him signed for a mere 15mil, Dempster is a l337 SuX0r.
  15. whats up with Matt Long? I realize he only pitched 4IP/4G with the Kannapolis intimidators but those stats are scary. I hope he can fast track it though the milb level and be with the sox in the pen by mid '07 ala Cordero/Street.
  16. yea, the bathrooms suck this year, but i deal with it, im just happy to see the park briming with people and now i can finally start the wave.
  17. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 07:12 AM) Maybe a team like Cincinatti who is desperate for someone with closer's experience could have a small interest in Hermanson or even Politte. If you could give up either and get someone like Ryan Wagner or Chris Denforia, I would be very happy with that. DBA your saying names that I salivate at; Ryan Wagner and/or Chris Denforia would look great on the southside. Maybe the Reds would be willing to deal them, after all they did deliver us Konerko after they traded Jeff Shaw to the dodgers to recieve him. The Reds need to make an apperance in the Post Season, they have yet to deliver since building the Great American Ball Park in '03 and people in Cincinnati are getting anxious. They desperatly need pitching to get there, mainly BP help. If Bronson Arroyo could move to the NL again and be considered an "ace" i could only imagine what Hermanson/Politte/Redding/Montero(lol) could be considered in the NL. Ryan Wagners problem from what I've read is two fold. He doesn't constantly repeat his mechancis and he falls in love with his + slider instead of getting ahead of hitters. So naturally hitters just lay off it and sit on his fastball. Both of these things are problems im sure Coop could address and fix in a very short time. Also he throws across his body and if I'm not mistaken hes had arm promblems in the past, but then again so has Matt Thornton Chris Denorfia on the other hand is blocked, hes been tearing up AAA for a while now, its ridiculous that hes not with the big club, but then again all the more for the taking? If Kenny can spin Joe Borchard, Javier Lopez, Jeff Bajenaru & Damaso Marte into Matt Thornton, David Riske, Alex Cintron & Rob Mackowiak, then Kenny can obviously turn lead into gold. I hope we can get the mentioned names. Bottom Line is that Kenny is an alchemist and that GM of the year award is as good as his.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 01:06 AM) I do believe Riske has an ERA of just over 1 since joining us... Yup, I've got a 1.04 ERA with the Sox. Hi. My ERA is also .87 in the last month. God Bless KW and Lopez for making this happen, Riske even though he looks like a hobo is SOOOO good, hes only 28 after this year provided he stays healthy i hope we sign him long term.
  19. its working, keep it up everyone, AJP to the ASG FTW!
