  13. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) I would love to see what Don Cooper could do with Wagner. He falls into the good stuff, not much control type of pitcher right now, which the Sox seem to like. Personally, while Ozzie is still here, I can't see a long - term future for Sean Tracey on this ballclub. And that's not really fair for the kid, but what's happened has happened, and I think if the right move came along to improve this ballclub potentially, KW would have no problem including Tracey in a deal. Yeah, i think Tracey is in the dog house, and even though i would love to see him develop and reach his full potential with the white sox, it appears now that won't happen. From the accounts I've read about Wagner, his probelm is that he falls behind in the account using his Slider in attempt to get ahead instead of his 2 seam fastball, and then they just sit on his fastball. His slider is his out pitch. Honestly im pretty open to this idea. Also what ever happened to Eduardo Sierra? I know we claimed him off of waivers from the Colorado Rockies. Maybe he could become Jenks 2.0, it looks like his problems down on the farm is all control, I think if Coop got to work with him for a while he might live up to his potential, he has the "stuff".
  14. QUOTE(Dawgs @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 08:34 AM) How exactly has the White Sox schedule been rough compared to Detroits? From my prospective Chicago and Detroit have played similar schedules except the Sox have yet to face two of the best teams in the league. Home games vs. road games is the same. Here is the breakdown: TB- Det. 3, Chi. 3 Tor- Det. 3, Chi 6 KC- Det 8, Chi 9 Tex- Det 4, Chi 7 Cle- Det 10, Chi 10 Oak- Det 3, Chi 3 Sea- Det 3, Chi 5 LAA- Det 5, Chi 5 Cubs- Det 1, Chi 3 Min- Det 9, Chi 7 Balt- Det 2, Chi 0 Cin- Det 3, Chi 1 NYY- Det 4, Chi 0 Bos- Det 3, Chi 0 I see Detroit playing 7 games against the 2 best teams in the east and Chicago has yet to play them. Detroits played 2 more against Minnesota and the Sox 1 more against the worst team in baseball and 2 more against that western powerhouse, Seattle. Detroit has 3 down against Cincinnatti to the Sox 1, while the Sox have 3 against the Cubs to Detroits 1. The schedules are pretty much similar except for the glaring fact that Chicago has yet to play any games against 2 of the best teams in baseball. So quit with the homer bulls***. I bet after 162 games youd still be spouting how Detroits schedule was easier when in reality Chicagos had the easier go of it already in this season. Detroits for real. They arent going away. Wheres the June swoon you all forcasted? Has it been delayed until July or August? Has the pitching come to earth like you all said it would? Come back to reality. The Sox are in for a dog fight all season. And I dont think thier bullpen is up to the task. I'm pretty sure everyone said after the ASG(July 11th) Detroit would go into a free fall. Verlander has never pitched more than 130 innings and Rogers is very maso menos in the second half. So the swoon hasn't been postponed, its just not July yet
  15. Isn't Wagner an injury risk? i know hes college polished and at one point people thought he was going to be an elite closer. I'm torn on this one, Tracey is the rare breed of high GB/K, but from what i've read with regards to Wagner he has a nasty slider. I guess if the organization is down on Tracey and he isn't going to be getting another shot with the sox and the Reds are truly intrestead then yeah, i would be cool with it.
  16. Another note about Perry he said Anderson was a "decent defender in center" decent? Brian has GG winner written all over him. sorry if this article has already been brought up.
  17. QUOTE(RX Bandits @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 02:07 AM) drays > pirates, marlins, nationals I wouldn't say the D-Rays are better than the Marlins at all, since May 22nd the Marlins are tied for the best record in baseball with the Mets. They just took game one of their series against the blue jays, Vernon Wells struck out 4 times going 0-4, first time ever in his career against Scott Olsen. If anything the Marlins should be # 1 or # 2, they've got the best team ERA for June and Dan Uggla is putting up the same #'s as Chase Utley. Also believe it or not but the Marlins are good and might even be in the hunt for the WC with or without Joe Borowski, Tankersly has taken over closing for them and they're 8 1/2 games out in the wildcard. For a little comparison. '05 Astros record at this time was 25-35, and they were written off, but they made it all the way to the world series. '03 Marlins record at this time was 29-34, and they were 13.5 games behind in the WC. That team won the WS. They were predicted to win the NL East. '06 Marlins 27-37, this team is extremely talented and loaded in pitching depth in ways that would make K-Dub drool. When they deal Borowski + Moehler + [insert name of pitching prospect, possibly Mitre] they will most likely get their CF of the future aka Chris Denorfia the deal makes a ton of sense on both ends. Denorfia is blocked in the reds OF and they need bullpen help asap. As for the final member of the Marlins rotation just plug in any of these names Harvey Garcia/Anibal Sanchez/Yusmeiro Petit/Renyel Pinto Something about The WildCard and The Marlins = WS And for an unrelated note, remember a certain US hockey team from 1980? nothing is impossible .
