  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) It also means my taste in music, which includes Death Cab and tons of other bands. Nice, seeing how your from CA, and i've heard old blink on the show before this is good news i take it your big into pop punk? and love the content of the show, good work.
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) You're no daisy. You're no daisy at all. this is the second tombstone reference i've heard in two days. That movie is so good. Wheres Wyatt? ...down by the creek walkin on water.
  3. Go Jose, and Brian(please silence me once and for all about your batting).
  4. QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 11, 2006 -> 07:26 PM) i think kicking television is the best produced live album of all time. Nels Cline + WIlco is just a whole new experience. He makes the "a ghost is born" songs so much more vital and wonderful. Of all of Wilco's albums "a ghost is born" is prolly my favorite, not to hate on yankee hotel foxtrot.
  5. i was going to post that, does BA only like to show up when hes on ESPN? i hope not, and i hope that this is the start of a torrid pace to get him up to .230, so i can eat my words and stop the Corey Patterson love train.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 01:49 AM) Well people with a brain (Steve Stone comes to mind) have been saying since he came up in '01 that Patterson was a 6 hitter type. Too bad for the Flubs they didn't listen. Steve Stone > Cubs Organization
  7. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 01:47 AM) Oh the irony of that. Patterson and Hawkins, two guys run out of town by Cub fans helping us to a repeat. GOLDEN! indeed. talk about salt in a 98 year old festering wound. where do i sign up
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) I think the combination of the fact that we won it all last year (which is new for us), us being so damn talented this year and a team that can repeat, and all the new fans and attention have created a perfect storm to make us as a fanbase as bitter as ever. It's not "we haven't won in 88 years" bitter though, it's more like "what the hell, we won it all last year, we should win every day with this team since it's more talented" bitter. And also, the fact we honestly haven't played well this year and are still 36-23 makes things weird. This team has played a lot of bad baseball, but is still 36-23, a record that almost any other year we'd be THRILLED to have right now, which is another odd dynamic. Yeah thats sort of how i feel, but at the same time i look at this team as a glass half full. We're now 37-23 and haven't even clicked on all cylinders and when we do its going to scary. This team to me is an amalgam of all the white sox teams of years past. I also find myself expecting a WS parade come October, when in the past i only dreamed i'd live to see the day the white sox won the world series. Another big difference between this year and others for me personally, is i've begun to follow our farm system closer, in the past i would know a few of the top prospects but that was it. I'm really excited about our bullpen, i know most people would get excited about a slugger or a SP prospect, but for me its the bullpen. I hope Tracey can preform and hopefully by '07 Matt Long can be in that mix too, as i type this the average age in the bullpen is 25.8, wow!
  9. Jonathan Papelbon blows his first save 20/21, but picks up the win.
  10. ::Patterson Update:: 1-4(2B), 2RBI, BB, 2CS, 1PO, Currently batting .291, It seems batting in 6spot might be working for him, time will tell.
  11. wtf? lately our pitchers, mainly Vazquez have'nt been getting any calls from the umps, did the white sox piss in their cheerios?
  12. Good news Juan is squaring the bat up, bad news its right at Sizemore.
  13. Vazquez has balls!, where is detective scrotes
  14. i never thought id see the day when PK got a single of the infield vareity Dye strikes out looking.
  15. Scott With the base hit! Everyone's favorite backyardigan at bat!, go pablo
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) The thing is...if Garland was pitching well, the ball wouldn't even be going to the outfield, it'd be on the ground in the infield. DING! DING! DING! hes a ground ball pitcher and features a sinker, he shouldn't be getting lit up like he has been. I grow weary of people always protecting Jon, face it you put your trust into a mediocre pitcher and he has done nothing but s*** the bed his entire career excluding two good months last season.
  17. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) Hey I agree with him. This Group will not win. It will be the Mackowiaks, Andersons, awful bullpen, inconsistency of Garland/Buehrle that will eventually do us in. Horrible lack of fundamentals is exposing the bullpen even more. Hes right. Hang on, how is this bullpen awful? its not that bad people, Cliff really skews it. it might just be one piece shy. Lets do a little run down. Bobby Jenks - Dominate, he looks to have returned to midseason form, simply put NASTY! 3.20ERA, 17/18 saves, 32SO, 7BB 1IBB , 1.11WHIP Matt Thornton - 98mph fastball and Left Handed!, looks to have turned a corner under Coop. Give him some more time he has already had more success here than he ever had with Seatle, and look how good Jose came on after the second half, it takes time. 4.50ERA, 19SO, 9BB 3IBB, 1.44WHIP Neal Cotts - Simply put hes good, not nearly as good as last year but still good. 3.42ERA, 14SO, 7BB 1IBB, 1.14WHIP Brandon McCarthy - With consistant work hes dominating when he gets a feel for his change/curve, i along with other feel Ozzie has mishandled him thus far. 5.01ERA, 21SO, 10BB 2IBB, 1.30WHIP Agustin Montero - Is not the answer , hes a former juicer and a AAAA for life, BUST! Sean Tracey - Its make or break time for Sean with regards to the SOX, he has great "stuff" but the one thing that has eluded him in his career thus far is comand, under Coop i think that will change and he will live up to his potential. Cliff Politte - If he has truly been hurt, and thats the reason for this DL stint and not inflamed ERA(7.40), then maybe he can comeback and be the Cliff of '04/'02 and if he can do that this bullpen might have solved itself, because last year was definatly a career year and im thankful for it. So in ending with the bullpen its not that bad as it looks. As you stated the starting pitching has underachieved and there have been some defensive lapses that have exposed are weaker points. Also the offense at times has slumped , that hasn't helped. I'd look at this team as a glass half full, we're 36-23 and we haven't even clicked on all levels, hopefully that will change in the near future and when it does watch out.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) I just want BMac to keep getting work. He hasn't pitched since Tuesday. Rust has clearly been a problem for him previously, and he was dynamite on Tuesday when he looked like he was starting to get into a rhythm. i agree i think he needs consistant work to get a feel for his change/curve.
  19. Like i said i hope that he goes 3-4 tonight and goes on a uribe/crede esk tear and we can worry about something else.
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) Pablo is playing 3rd tonight and batting second, as Iguchi gets moved down in the order. Ozzie Jr. isn't going to be happy. He ripped his dad on his radio show for attempting to move Iguchi out of the 2 hole. His view was if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Muy Intersante, i know his show is on sundays on the score corret? but isn't it in spanish? QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 04:17 PM) With this lineup, and Victor Martinez behind the plate...GET OFF TO THE RACES. Seriously, anyone not named Konerko, Thome, or Pierzynski has a shot to steal on Martinez if they get on base. And Cliff Lee hasn't given him much help this year. Manufacture a few runs, cause some problems, and let's win this bloody game. Keep it going Javy, and stop those damn big innings. Oh, and by the way...Brandon McCarthy MUST get work tonight. Agreed, i wanna see some McCarthy/Thornton/Tracey/Jenks love tonight, any two of those will do. I also want a no-no from Javy so we might not even see the pen tonight
  21. I Concur maybe it'll happen tonight, id love nothing more than for Brian to silence me and go 3-4.
