  1. Corey Patterson's streak continues 9th straight game with SB, longest streak since 1986(Henderson). There goes the No No
  2. ::Patterson Update:: 1-3 with a bunt single, 1SB, 1BB, 1SO, Batting .287 9th straight game with SB, longest streak since 1986(Henderson)
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) I understand your point but being ok with an .058 average is stretching it a bit. Yeah thats Henry Blanco territory. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 11:19 AM) Then what's the point of message boards? Just because you may not be able to change something directly doesn't mean you can't b**** about it. Zomg, im actually agreeing with Kalapse. So this is what it sounds like when doves cry.
  4. wow, thats incredibly sad. RIP Michelle Mielecki

    Marlins

I too have been following them, how can you not want them to succeed with a 15mil payroll?
  6. *sigh* we could've had him for nothing, and let Gload walk or maybe get another reclaimation project for him. Mackowiak can play first..... Damn!
  7. ::Patterson Update:: Corey went 2-4 today, both singles, no strikes outs or BB, but he did steal 2 bases, first second and then thrid. thats now 25SB/1CS
  8. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) Make that 7 straight games with an SB. He is now 23 for 24 on the season. nice, hes batting 280
  9. Flith is spelled W-R-I-G-L-E-Y, with regards to that clip. i feel dirty from watching it.
  10. I think it would be a good move. People on the southside won't be calling for his head every AB. He would bat 8th, giving Juan his trusty 9spot. I think him not having a defined role in the cubs batting order along with incompetent coaching is what really killed this kid on the north side.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) is his BA dropping? lol yes it is, but its still .270+ my friend. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) Unless the O's are working on a contract extension with him, I believe he'll get move. I almost 100% sure he's going to be a free agent after this season. your right, hes a FA after this season so unless they plan on extending him, "He Gone!" and hopefully to the white sox.
  12. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 08:09 AM) That should be in green. I agree the bullpen needs to be tweaked, but I am now coming around on CF. Anderson needs to start hitting. As much as I have criticized Ozzie in the past, you can't blame him for PH Mackowiak, but Mack cannot play CF for any length of time. I was at a Patio Party last night and sat in the OF. Make no mistake about it, Matthews double is more than likely caught by Anderson. I would say Anderson's chances of making that play are at least 95%, its a play Rowand, with as deep as he plays and his total disregard for the wall would make at least 99% of the time. So that's at least 4 times this past week that having Mack in CF has cost the White Sox runs. That's not going to work, and neither is Anderson hitting .160. The rest of the guys except Uribe and occassionally Pods have been hitting out of their minds. It can't continue. Production is needed in CF as well as defense. If Anderson can't hit, Mackowiak isn't the solution. I too was at the game last night and i agree completely. We need a real CF *cough* Corey Patterson *cough*
  13. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 01:20 PM) Brian Anderson can field, but can't hit his way out of a paper bag. Uribe is getting worse and worse as far as swinging wildly and at everything. He is a good fielder, but when you try and be a hot dog and make a mistake in the field it becomes magnified because you can't hit for do-do. Relief pitching is just plain screwed up. They can't get the first man out, walk too many hitters and give up homers. But, it's early yet so my feeling is we can still get what we have turned around and get back on top. 2 1/2 games out on June 3rd is not the end of the world. But, I think we do need to end the BA experiment in CF and get someone who can field and HIT. Juan is coming around as someone already stated his last 7 days hes batting .304, its the lack of a complete CF thats killing us. You keep Anderson out there and he makes that catch, you get someone along the lines of Corey Patterson and he makes that catch and gets on base and steals a bag(22SB/1CS), not only can the kid hit and has turned his swing into more of a line drive swing but he can lay down the bunt and play great CF. I turly believe that Anderson will eventually become a great all around player, but i don't know if KW is going to wait for his growing pains at the plate to go away.
  14. ::Patterson Update:: He reached first on a bunt attempt error, and then preceded to steal second thats now 22SB/1CS, hes batting .281
  15. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) Speaking of Jenks, when did he pitch last? I'm worried his next outing may be shaky from lack of use. good point. On the topic of Jenks what exactly does he have as far as pitch selection goes? i've heard DJ say hes got a Knuckle-Curve, but I've heard Bobby say hes got a hard slider so what is it? i know hes got a cut fastball, the heat, and that 12-6 drop
  16. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 2, 2006 -> 10:54 AM) I think Ozzie still babies BMac too much, and they haven't used him consistently enough for him to get into a rhythm. That's got to be close for impossible for BMac to be successful, when he's been used on a consistent basis every 5 days for his entire baseball career. I feel the same way, i think hes having a hard time getting a feel for his pitches(esp his change-up and curve) when he has been used sporadically.
  17. Don't Kid yourself, i too think the bullpen will be fine but Politte doesn't have "respectable numbers".
  18. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) i just dont think therye pitching will last or is good enough against the good offensive teams i agree, Verlander is mortal, and has never pitched more than 130innings. Maroth is about to undergo elbow surgery for bone chips, and lastly Rogers is mediocore down the strech. We've got alot of games left with them, and as seen by their 4 game losing streak they too are human. I still don't think our bullpen is as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Thornton couldn't get it done tonight but he had 8 scoreless apperances before hand, and im not about to turn on him. Cliff is spent, Jenks is amazing when used properly, Cotts may not be the same reliever from last year but hes still really good. McCarthy just needs consistant work and a defined role simple as that. and Nelson might or might not have enough in the tank to be a ROOGY, will see.
  19. Guys dont you remember people from the east coast think thats "bush league", which is all the more reason to do it.
  20. ::Patterson Update:: Tonight he went 1-3 with a single hes still batting .291,1 RBI, BB,SO, and 2SB, that makes it 20SB/1CS
  21. ill be at the park tomorrow night and i've got a 7-1 record. Jon don't let me down.
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) It's a monthly jumping off the bridge thread. Passing out Tampax . . . :lolhittin, Yeah seriously the white sox are the worst team ever!, oh and the tigers just won.
  23. Yea but im pretty sure we have the best home record at 19-6
